Abstract

This article analyzes the validity of vulnerability as a model for decision making regarding the personal and socio-family situation of the elderly person in need of care. The adequacy of the model responds to the centrality of the risk element in decision-making, the nature of care and respect for the principles that inspire the rights of vulnerable older persons. The concept of vulnerability connects with a new conception in which vulnerability is based, not only on the loss of autonomy, but also on the susceptibility to bankruptcy of the rights of dignity and integrity in daily life; in line with an existentially diverse and vulnerable human conception. The incorporation of this approach to the Law of the capacity of the elderly and regulation of social services will require its consideration in the reports and diagnoses of Social Work.

Abstract

The rapidly changing retail landscape and associated changes in consumer preferences have forcing retailers to adopt multi-channel strategies rather than just using one chancellor's solution (Verhoef et al.,2015) As a result, customers engage in shopping behavior cross channels, such as showrooming and webrooming more than ever. Consumer Survey the Annual Global Retail conducted by PwC Indonesia in 2015 revealed that 70% of global consumers collect information online to make purchases offline. Webroomers have a greater perception of saving time, effort for make the right purchases, as well as smart shopping better than showroomers. Unfortunately, most research so far has focused on showrooming spaces (Eriksson & Fagerstrøm, 2019) and there is still very little research using webrooming spaces at the individual level, although this topic is constantly being called for action. Although these variables are valid and enriching, they do not explain everything observed variations in online space usage behavior and more research is needed carry on. The aim of this research is how far the webrooming component affects motivation interest in online shopping in several marketplace choices in Indonesia and how to implement it Webrooming can help marketplaces in Indonesia influence Indonesian people's online shopping motivation. Researchers employ an exploratory research approach, which seeks to gather information, data, and facts on a particular topic or issue. This is done using quantitative methods, with the data being analyzed statistically through the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique, specifically utilizing Partial Least Squares (PLS). The primary data for this study is collected via questionnaires, which are distributed both through Google Forms and in person. The sampling method used is convenience sampling, where individuals encountered by the researcher who are deemed appropriate as data sources and are willing to participate are selected as samples. The sample in this research was marketplace users who had previously done webrooming, so the sample obtained was 188 people. The research findings showed that the motivation variable or shopping intention, the marketplace channel showed significant results on webrooming behavior. The research results show that many consumers use the marketplace to compare prices before deciding to buy a product offline. Research indicates that easily accessible price comparisons on platforms such as Tokopedia and Shopee encourage users to be more careful in making decisions. Access to complete product information and reviews from other users on the marketplace greatly influences consumer decisions. The research also shows differences in marketplace preferences, with some consumers preferring platforms that offer flexible return policies and responsive customer service.

Abstract

Although Indonesia's hotel industries have made an outstanding recovery, the developing glamping sector has specific challenges. These challenges include inadequate infrastructure and limited access to glamping locations, which hinder the ability to provide an exceptional customer experience. This study aims to address this issue by examining the impact of service quality, facilities, and value on customer satisfaction and loyalty at Bobocabin Cikole Bandung, with the goal to improve glamping experiences. The study utilizes a quantitative approach to examine the relationship between service quality, amenities, volume customer satisfaction, and loyalty. An online questionnaire is employed to collect data from 200 respondents. The data gathered is then analyzed using PLS-SEM to confirm relationships and generate actionable insights and recommendations. The findings indicate that service quality does not significantly impact customer satisfaction or loyalty. However, amenities and value significantly impact customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction mediates the relationship between amenities, value, and loyalty, but not between service quality and loyalty. Glamping operators should improve amenities, value, and unique experiences to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. Further research should examine various glamping types, larger samples, and reasons for service quality’s limited impact. This study emphasizes the importance of amenities and perceived value for sustained success.

Abstract

In the current era of emancipation, women get the same political rights to be able to enter the political sphere. This article aims to analyze the determinants of women's electability as legislative members of the House of Regional Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) representing the Province of South Sumatera and the interdependence of the determinants of the electability of DPD RI members with the basis of vote acquisition in the 2019 elections. The 2019 election results show that the election of women representatives of South Sumatera Province in the DPD RI institution resulted in 4 women with a percentage of 100% women. The percentage of women's electability from South Sumatera has increased from the previous 2014 election which was only around 75% and in this 2019 election South Sumatera became the highest electoral district in Indonesia that had female representation. The elected women were candidates who were running for the first time and managed to defeat the incumbent candidates. This article uses descriptive qualitative research methods to describe the phenomenon of women's election in local political contestation by reducing data from four women elected as legislative members of DPD RI. The results of this study indicate that the determinants of the electability of female DPD members representing South Sumatera are influenced by determinants of political kinship and also political patrons. Of the four elected members of DPD RI, three of them were influenced by determinants of political kinship because they had family relationships with local elites. and one was influenced by determinants of political patrons as academics and former public officials. The factor of kinship with local elites influences the vote base of elected women. The bases of the elected women's votes show that they are located in areas that correlate with the areas of power of local elites. Meanwhile, the vote as a public official shows that the votes are evenly distributed throughout the region.

Abstract

Ultrasonography is an ultrasound-based imaging technique which are utilized to visualize subcutaneous structures. In anesthesiology, ultrasonography is widely used for finding vascular access, nerve block and regional anesthesia, trans esophageal echocardiography (TEE), and epidural space measurement. Ultrasonography is a relatively safe, non-invasive, and easily accessible imaging modality which also provides ease of anatomical evaluation for anesthesiologists before a procedure. In the first case, a 55 years old man with chronic renal failure undergoing arteriovenous fistula procedure was examined with ultrasonography for brachial plexus block. In the second case, a 63 years old man with acute kidney injury (AKI) was examined with ultrasonography of the right jugular and right subclavian veins to identify vascular access for double lumen catheter insertion. In conclusion, the use of ultrasonography before peripheral nerve block procedures and central venous catheter placement can help anesthesiologist to determine the nerves to be blocked and determine the right vein for catheter insertion.

Abstract

Thrombocytopenia is a common hematological complication in patients with malignant hematological diseases, particularly after chemotherapy or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). This condition increases the risk of bleeding and necessitates strict hematological monitoring and platelet transfusions. Immature Platelet Fraction (IPF), a parameter reflecting thrombopoiesis, has emerged as a potential biomarker for predicting platelet recovery. This meta-analysis evaluates the role of IPF and IPF% in predicting platelet recovery in patients with hematological malignancies post-chemotherapy and HSCT. A systematic literature search was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library, from 2014 to 2024. Studies were selected based on predefined criteria, including patient population, intervention, and outcomes related to platelet recovery. The analysis revealed that IPF% increases earlier than other hematological parameters, with a peak occurring 1–11 days before platelet recovery. However, significant heterogeneity (I² = 99%) was observed among studies, indicating variability in methodologies and patient populations. Despite promising results, the clinical application of IPF% requires further validation to establish optimal cutoff values and standardize measurement techniques. This meta-analysis highlights the potential of IPF% as a predictive biomarker for platelet recovery, while emphasizing the need for more robust studies to enhance its reliability in clinical practice.
