Abstract

Cabbage leaf caterpillars (Plutella xylostella L., Lepidoptera: Plutellidae) are the main pests that are very damaging to Brassicaceae plants, especially cabbage, mustard greens, and caisin in Indonesia. The chemical content of lemongrass is citral, citronella, geraniol, mirsene, nerol, farnesol methil heptenol and dipentene. The purpose of this study was to determine the effective concentration of Plutella xylostella pest mortality and the right LC50 value of Plutella xylostella pest mortality. This research is experimental using a completely randomized design. The subjects were 50 plutella xylostella L. Instar III pests. The concentrations used were 10 g, 20 g, 30 g, 40 g with negative control 0 g (aquades) with 5 repetitions for each treatment group. Observations were made 24 hours after spraying and the results obtained were an increase in pest death with increasing concentration. Based on the results of analysis of variance seen in the calculated F value (41,962)> F table (2,866). This proves that the administration of lemongrass stem extract significantly influences the mortality of Plutella xylostella in mustard plants (Brassisca juncea). The results of LC50 probit analysis were obtained at the concentration of lemongrass extract at 21,277% with a lower limit of 17,782 and an upper limit of 24,824, meaning that at a concentration of 21,277% lemongrass extract was able to kill 50% of the Plutella xylostella pest used after 24 hours of administration at a 95% confidence level.

Abstract

Garlic (Allium sativum L.) and shallot Lakor (Allium ascalonicum L.) local products are plants that are used as spices for various dishes and can be used as herbal medicine. For natural use, safe and easy to consume which can be seen through its potential as herbal medicine, a study was carried out to test the antimicrobial potential of garlic (Allium sativum L.) and Lakor shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) juice on the growth of bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus). Lakor garlic and shallots are grated, the results of grated Lakor garlic and shallots are squeezed to produce 100% pure onion bulb juice. Lakor garlic and shallot juice was diluted with concentrations of 25%, 35%, 45%, 55%, 65%, 75%, 85% and 95%, respectively. Antimicrobial activity was tested by the diffusion method using a disk to measure the diameter of the clear zone. The results showed that garlic (Allium sativum L.) was able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus which could be demonstrated by the clear zone diameter of 16.3 mm at a concentration of 35% and at a concentration of 65% the diameter of the clear zone exceeded the clear zone of the amoxycillin antibiotic. Lakor red onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) showed antimicrobial potential but was unable to damage the bacterial cell wall as indicated by the diameter of the clear zone of 7.7 mm at a concentration of 95%. There is potential for both onion bulbs but have different antimicrobial properties against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

Many abilities that students must have, namely the ability to think critically, think creatively, construct knowledge, solve problems and master learning material well. One of the efforts to improve students' critical thinking and creative thinking skills is to change the old learning model used with the problem-based learning model and inquiry learning model. Students think more critically and think creatively and encourage students to be able to connect between the knowledge they have and its application in their daily lives. This study aims to determine the effect of two learning models, namely problem-based learning and inquiry learning to improve critical thinking skills and creative thinking on ecosystem material in class X SMAN 11, SMAN 13, and Madrasah Aliyah. The type of research is Quasi Experiment using 3 experimental classes using the problem based learning model and 3 experimental classes using the inquiry learning model. The statistical analysis used was multiple linear regression using SPSS 22. The results obtained from multiple linear regression analysis both had significant values <0.05 using both problem based learning and inquiry learning models at SMA N 11, SMA N 13 and Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Ambon. Conclusion. There is an influence of the use of problem-based learning models and inquiry learning models to improve the ability to think in class X SMAN 11, SMAN 13 and Ambon Madrasah Aliyah.

Abstract

PBL and NHT learning models that have been integrated by this researcher are an amalgamation of the two learning models to help students develop a deep understanding of systematic knowledge simultaneously and train their critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the integrated Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Problem-based learning (PBL) learning model on improving critical thinking and student learning outcomes. The type of research used is quantitative analysis research. The population of this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 11 Ambon and all students of class X SMA Negeri 13 Ambon. The sampling technique used was random. Data analysis using simple linear regression test. The results of the regression analysis showed that there was a significant influence between the NHT-integrated PBL learning model on critical thinking and learning outcomes. The magnitude of the influence of the NHT Integrity PBL model on critical thinking is 81.1% and student learning outcomes are 61.7%. Whereas in SMA N.13 Ambon the magnitude of the influence of the NHT Integrity PBL model on critical thinking was 55% and student learning outcomes were 79.5%. Conclusion. There is a significant influence of the NHT integrated PBL learning model on critical thinking, namely 0.001 in SMA N. 11 and 0.040 in SMA N.13 Ambon, there is a significant influence of the NHT integrated PBL learning model on learning outcomes, namely 0.001 in SMA N. 11 and 0.002 in SMA N.13 Ambon.

Abstract

This study aims to determine increased understanding of the concept of science through the integration of ethnoscience tenun ikat project based learning at SMP tanimbar, improving the ability to think creatively through the integration of the ethnoscience, differences in understanding the concept of science through the integration of project based learning ethnoscience, and differences in the ability to think creatively through the integration of ethnoscience. This research was conducted on April 26 – June 26 2021 located at SMPN 3 Wuarlabobar, SMPN 3 Waturu, SMP Christen Batuputih, SMPN 1 Atap Wermatang. The research design used a quasi-experimental design used two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The results of the study show that the integration of project based learning into the learning process can improve understanding of science concepts and ability to think creatively. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant difference in the value of understanding science concepts and students' creative thinking ability between the sample groups of SMP Negeri 3 Wuarlabobar, SMP Negeri 3 Waturu, SMP Christen Batuputih and SMP 1 Atap Wertmatang.
