Abstract

This study aims to review the literature on the relationship between self-confidence and mathematical communication skills of junior high school students. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative-descriptive approach. The data sources in this study are national scientific journal articles relevant to the topic, published from 2021 to 2025. The data analysis technique was carried out through content analysis, which included the stages of journal collection, article selection based on topic relevance, and systematic conclusion drawing. The following are the findings obtained from the literature review: 1) There is a positive relationship between self-confidence and students’ mathematical communication skills at the junior high school level, where the higher the students’ level of self-confidence, the better their mathematical communication ability. 2) Students with high self-confidence are better able to fulfill all mathematical communication indicators optimally, including the ability to use mathematical symbols accurately, construct mathematical models appropriate to the problem, explain problem-solving steps systematically, and convey conclusions in understandable language. 3) Conversely, students with low self-confidence tend to be passive, experience psychological barriers, and have difficulty expressing mathematical ideas both verbally and in writing.

Abstract

The digitalization of labor recruitment systems has fundamentally transformed the migration pathways for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), particularly those destined for Saudi Arabia. While digital platforms including online portals, social media, and mobile applications promise efficiency and broader access to overseas employment opportunities, they have simultaneously created new and complex vulnerabilities that expose workers to human trafficking. This study employs a qualitative approach using document analysis and systematic literature review to examine how weaknesses in Indonesia's regulatory framework fail to adequately protect PMI at the recruitment stage. Drawing on the human security framework particularly the dimensions of personal security and economic security as articulated in the UNDP 1994 Human Development Report. This article argues that the Indonesian government's inability to effectively monitor and regulate digital recruitment actors constitutes a critical governance failure that enables traffickers to exploit prospective migrant workers. Key findings reveal three intersecting vulnerabilities: (1) the proliferation of unregulated digital recruitment intermediaries operating outside formal licensing frameworks; (2) insufficient legal enforcement mechanisms against fraudulent digital job advertisements targeting economically vulnerable communities; and (3) the structural compounding of digital recruitment vulnerabilities with destination-country risks, particularly the kafala sponsorship system in Saudi Arabia.

Abstract

Informal workers are among the most vulnerable groups in the labor market due to their limited access to employment social security protection. To address this issue, the Indonesian government has implemented the Employment Social Security Program through the Social Security Administering Agency for Employment (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan), which aims to provide social protection for both formal and informal workers. However, participation among informal workers remains relatively low, largely influenced by their perceptions of the program's benefits. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of informal workers regarding the benefits of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Program in Padang Bulan Village, Medan Baru District. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using purposive sampling to select the research informants, consisting of informal workers as the main informants, a Special Account Representative of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan as the key informant, and the neighborhood head as an additional informant. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that informal workers' perceptions of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Program are shaped through three stages: receiving information, organizing information based on work experience and economic conditions, and interpreting the program's benefits. Most informants perceived the program positively, particularly regarding protection against occupational accidents, death benefits, and old-age security. Nevertheless, positive perceptions did not necessarily lead to active participation due to unstable income, limited understanding of the program, and the prioritization of daily household needs.

Abstract

Qur'anic education in madrasahs not only emphasizes technical reading skills but also focuses on strengthening memorization and developing Qur'anic character. MTs Miftahul Ulum Gondang implements an integration strategy between Qur'anic Reading and Writing (BTQ) instruction and the Tahfidz al-Qur'an program through collaboration between BTQ and Tahfidz teachers in planning, implementation, and evaluation. This study aims to analyze teachers' strategies in integrating BTQ instruction with the Tahfidz al-Qur'an program and to reveal the implications of these strategies for students' abilities, attitudes, and interest in the Qur'an. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research subjects included BTQ teachers, Tahfidz teachers, the school principal, and students. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model (data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing), while validity was ensured through source and method  triangulation. The findings indicate that teachers group students into three levels: Awwaliyah, Al-Qur'an, and Tahfidz, with differentiated instruction and methods including talaqqi, tikrar, and sima'an. Continuous and integrated evaluation was employed.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effect of noise intensity  on students' college memory. The research hypothesis is that noise affects the ability to remember. The study involved 16 Psychology students from Syiah Kuala University, divided into two groups: an experimental group (noisy conditions) and a control group (quiet conditions). The research methodology used an experimental design with a between-group technique, providing both pretests and posttests in the form of word memorization for each group. Data analysis was conducted using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The results showed that the posttest scores of the experimental group significantly decreased after being exposed to noise, while the scores of the control group remained relatively stable. The hypothesis test results indicated p0.001, suggesting a significant effect of noise levels on memory in both the control and experimental groups. These findings highlight the importance of a conducive learning environment for effective learning processes.

Abstract

The phenomenon of a crisis of meaning in life has become an increasingly prominent psychological issue in modern society, marked by rising existential emptiness, depression, and hopelessness. Viktor E. Frankl, through logotherapy, emphasized that the primary human motivation is the will to meaning, namely the fundamental drive to find meaning in life. This article aims to analyze the concept of the will to meaning within logotherapy and reconstruct it from the perspective of Islamic psychotherapy. The study employs a literature review method by examining relevant books and scholarly journal articles on logotherapy, meaning in life, and Islamic psychology. The findings reveal points of convergence between logotherapy and Islam in their recognition of the spiritual (noetic) dimension, the freedom to choose one’s attitude, and the possibility of finding meaning in suffering. However, a fundamental difference lies in the source of meaning: logotherapy is existential and individual in nature, whereas Islam is grounded in divine revelation and tawhid, with the ultimate orientation toward seeking Allah’s pleasure. Within the Islamic framework, the concept of the will to meaning is reconstructed as the will to worship and serve Allah, where the highest meaning is devotion and submission to Him. Practically, logotherapeutic techniques such as dereflection, paradoxical intention, and Socratic dialogue can be integrated with the concepts of tazkiyatun nafs, tawakal, and muhasabah in Islamic counseling. This integration produces a psychotherapeutic model that is not only clinically effective in enhancing resilience and mental health, but also theologically authentic for Muslim clients. Thus, the synthesis of logotherapy and Islamic teachings contributes to strengthening a contemporary Islamic psychotherapy framework grounded in meaning and tawhid.

Abstract

Industrial development in Serang Regency has been accompanied by population growth and the emergence of various social challenges within the community. This study aims to analyze population growth dynamics and social challenges amid industrial development in Serang Regency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature study method. The data consisted of secondary sources obtained from publications of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), scientific journals, articles, and other relevant documents. Data collection was conducted through documentation techniques, while data analysis applied descriptive qualitative analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the population of Serang Regency increased from 1,622,630 people in 2020 to 1,701,803 people in 2024, with a population growth rate of 1.42%. The expansion of the industrial sector, which absorbs a large number of workers, has been accompanied by increasing population mobility toward industrial areas, particularly Cikande District. This condition reflects a concentration of population in areas with more developed economic activities. In addition, the increasing population in industrial areas is accompanied by various social challenges, including greater demand for infrastructure and public services, competition for employment opportunities, and changes in patterns of social interaction. Therefore, development planning that considers demographic and social aspects is necessary to ensure that industrial development remains aligned with community welfare.

Abstract

Family communication plays an important role in shaping children's mental health through various interactions that occur within the family environment. The film Andai Ibu Tidak Menikah dengan Ayah portrays various representations of family communication behaviors that influence children's psychological conditions. This study aims to analyze the meaning of family communication behaviors related to children's mental health as represented in the film Andai Ibu Tidak Menikah dengan Ayah. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach. The research object consists of scenes, dialogues, expressions, and visual signs depicting communication interactions within the family. Data were collected through observation and documentation of scenes relevant to the research focus. Data analysis was conducted using Saussure's concepts of signifier and signified to reveal the meanings contained in the representation of family communication behaviors. The results show that the film represents various forms of family communication behavior through verbal and nonverbal signs. These behaviors include a lack of openness, family conflicts, emotional neglect, and limited psychological support for children. Such signs represent children's mental health conditions characterized by feelings of loneliness, anxiety, insecurity, and difficulties in expressing emotions. On the other hand, several scenes also highlight the importance of empathy, attention, and emotional support in fostering better mental health among children. Through Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis, the film demonstrates that family communication behaviors serve as symbols representing the close relationship between family dynamics and children's mental health. This study concludes that Andai Ibu Tidak Menikah dengan Ayah illustrates the importance of healthy family communication as a foundation for children's psychological development and mental well-being.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the digital economy has transformed personal data into a strategic economic asset that underpins technology-based business activities. This transformation has intensified increasingly complex data processing practices, including service personalization, behavioral profiling, artificial intelligence-driven analytics, and data monetization, all of which may lead to the exploitation of personal data. Consequently, personal data protection can no longer be viewed solely as a matter of privacy but must also be understood as an issue of legal certainty, consumer protection, and the protection of fundamental rights within the digital economy. This study aims to analyze the forms and vulnerabilities of personal data exploitation in the digital economy and to examine the urgency of strengthening legal protection against such practices. This research employs a normative legal research method using statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches. Legal materials were collected through library research and analyzed qualitatively using legal interpretation and argumentative analysis. The findings reveal that personal data exploitation is driven by the increasing economic value of data, unequal legal relationships between data subjects and data controllers, ineffective consent mechanisms, limited transparency, and challenges in supervision and law enforcement. These conditions indicate that the existing legal protection regime requires further strengthening to address the evolving characteristics of the digital economy. Strengthening legal protection should therefore emphasize preventive and adaptive legal mechanisms, a risk-based approach, meaningful consent, greater transparency in data processing, accountability in the use of digital technologies, effective regulatory oversight, and adaptive data governance centered on the protection of data subjects' rights. Accordingly, strengthening personal data protection constitutes a fundamental prerequisite for ensuring legal certainty, enhancing public trust, and fostering a fair and sustainable digital economy.
