Abstract

Keberadaan limbah rumah tangga yang dihasilkan dari berbagai aktivitas manusia memberikan dampak yang cukup besar terhadap Kesehatan Masyarakat maupun kualitas lingkungan. Di Desa Sidorejo, masih ditemukan banyak sampah organik dan anorganik yang bersumber dari kegiatan sehari-hari warga, khususnya dari rumah tangga. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, salah satu langkah yang efektif adalah dengan melaksanakan penyuluhan serta pelatihan mengenai pengelolaan sampah berbasis konsep 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Konsep ini menekankan pada upaya mengurangi, menggunakan kembali, dan mendaur ulang sampah, sehingga diharapkan mampu menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih, nyaman, dan sehat serta mendukung terwujudnya kawasan dengan system pengelolaan sampah mandiri. Tujuan utama dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk: (1) memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang pentingnya memilah sampah organic dan anorganik sebagai langkah awal penerapan 3R dan (2) memberikan pengetahuan praktis mengenai pemanfaatan sampah organik menjadi pupuk kompos serta mengolah sampah anorganik menjadi produk kerajinan yang bernilai guna. Kegiatan penyuluhan dilaksanakan di aula Balai Desa Sidorejo pada hari Sabtu, 9 Agustus 2025 pukul 09.00 WIB dengan metode pemberian materi, demonstrasi, serta diskusi yang interaktif. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui tiga tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil yang dicapai menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pentingnya pengelolaan sampah. Warga mulai terbiasa memilah sampah organik dan anorganik, serta terinspirasi untuk menerapkan konsep 3R dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai pemanfaatan sampah juga meningkat, sehingga mendukung terciptanya lingkungan yang bersih, sehat, dan lestari. The presence of household waste generated from various human activities has a considerable impact on public health and environmental quality. In Sidorejo Village, there are still many organic and inorganic waste sources from residents' daily activities, especially from households. To overcome this, one effective step is to provide counseling and training on the 3R concept of waste management (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). This concept emphasizes efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste, with the aim of creating a clean, comfortable, and healthy environment and supporting the development of areas with independent waste management systems. The main purpose of this activity is to: (1) provide education to the public about the importance of sorting organic and inorganic waste as a first step in implementing 3R, and (2) provide practical knowledge about the use of organic waste in compost fertilizers and processing inorganic waste into useful craft products. The counseling activity was held at the Sidorejo Village Hall on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 09.00 WIB, using methods including the provision of materials, demonstrations, and interactive discussions. The activity is implemented in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed an increase in public awareness of the importance of waste management. Residents began to get used to sorting out organic and inorganic waste, and were inspired to implement the 3R concept in everyday life. Public awareness of the use of garbage also increases, thereby supporting the creation of a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.

Abstract

Rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan mengakibatkan berkurangnya ruang hijau akibat alih fungsi lahan dan sedikit peduli terhadap penghijauan. Kondisi tersebut berdampak pada menurunnya kualitas udara, meningkatnya suhu lingkungan, kekeringan, serta berkurangnya potensi ekonomi desa dari sektor pertanian buah-buahan. Melalui program pengabdian masyarakat ini, dosen dan mahasiswa Universitas Islam Sultan Agung berinisiatif melakukan penghijauan di Desa Pilangsari, Kecamatan Sayung, Kabupaten Demak tepatnya di RW. 04 dan RW. 05 dengan diversifikasi tanaman buah sebagai solusi inovatif. Sehingga, program ini menekankan penanaman berbagai varian tanaman buah yang tidak hanya mendukung konservasi alam, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan hasil panen. Hasil dan pembahasan terhadap pelaksanaan program tersebut dilakukan dengan survei dan sowan RW setempat terkait pelaksanaan program penghijauan; pemilihan bibit tanaman buah yang sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan; persiapan lahan dan media tanam; pelaksanaan penanaman dan pendistribusian bibit kepada masyarakat di setiap RW agar tercipta keterlibatan aktif warga di Desa Pilangsari. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan meningkatnya partisipasi masyarakat, tumbuhnya kesadaran akan konservasi, serta terbukanya peluang ekonomi jangka panjang melalui hasil panen buah. Dengan pendekatan ini, Desa Pilangsari tidak hanya menjadi lebih hijau dan asri, tetapi juga lebih produktif dan berdaya. Ini menegaskan bahwa diversifikasi tanaman buah adalah strategi nyata yang mampu menghubungkan kepentingan ekologi dan kesejahteraan sosial secara berkelanjutan. Low public awareness of environmental sustainability has resulted in a reduction in green space due to land conversion and little concern for reforestation. This condition has an impact on declining air quality, increasing environmental temperatures, drought, and reducing the village's economic potential from the fruit farming sector. Through this community service program, lecturers and students of Sultan Agung Islamic University took the initiative to reforest Pilangsari Village, Sayung District, Demak Regency, specifically in RW. 04 and RW. 05 with fruit crop diversification as an innovative solution. Thus, this program emphasizes the planting of various fruit crop variants that not only support nature conservation, but also contribute to community empowerment through the utilization of harvested crops. The results and discussions on the implementation of the program were carried out through surveys and visits to local RWs regarding the implementation of the reforestation program; selection of fruit plant seeds that are suitable for environmental conditions; preparation of land and planting media; implementation of planting and distribution of seeds to the community in each RW to create active involvement of residents in Pilangsari Village. The results of the activity show increased community participation, growing awareness of conservation, and the opening of long-term economic opportunities through fruit harvests. With this approach, Pilangsari Village has not only become greener and more beautiful, but also more productive and empowered. This confirms that fruit crop diversification is a real strategy capable of sustainably linking ecological interests and social well-being.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan promosi digital bagi pelaku Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) Annisa 36 Semarang melalui sosialisasi pemanfaatan media sosial. UKM makanan olahan di Semarang sering mengalami kendala dalam memasarkan produk secara luas akibat minimnya literasi digital, sehingga penjualan bergantung pada pemasaran konvensional yang terbatas jangkauannya. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2024 dengan metode sosialisasi interaktif melibatkan 13 pelaku UKM Annisa 36. Materi mencakup pembuatan konten menarik di Instagram dan TikTok, strategi hashtag, analisis keterlibatan, serta optimalisasi iklan berbayar dengan biaya rendah. Peserta dibagi dalam workshop praktik dan pendampingan langsung. Hasil sosialisasi menunjukkan peningkatan 40% dalam jumlah pengikut/ followers Instagram UKM Annisa 36 dalam satu bulan pasca-kegiatan, serta lonjakan interaksi konten hingga 60%. Peserta mampu memproduksi konten mandiri dan memahami analitik metrik dasar. Kesimpulan, sosialisasi ini efektif memperkuat daya saing UKM di era digital, dengan rekomendasi follow-up berupa komunitas online berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada pemberdayaan ekonomi lokal di Semarang. This community service aims to improve digital promotion capabilities for Annisa 36 Semarang Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through socialization of the use of social media. Processed food SMEs in Semarang often experience obstacles in marketing products widely due to the lack of digital literacy, so sales depend on conventional marketing which has a limited reach. The activity was carried out in October 2024 with an interactive socialization method involving 13 SMEs from Annisa 36. Materials include creating engaging content on Instagram and TikTok, hashtag strategy, engagement analysis, and low-cost paid ad optimization. Participants were divided into hands-on practice and mentoring workshops. The results of the socialization showed a 40% increase in the number of Instagram followers of SME Annisa 36 in one month post-activity, as well as a surge in content interaction of up to 60%. Participants are able to produce self-contained content and understand basic analytics metrics. In conclusion, this socialization is effective in strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs in the digital era, with follow-up recommendations in the form of sustainable online communities. This activity contributes to the empowerment of the local economy in Semarang.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mahasiswa semester IV Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya dalam menghadapi Universitas Sriwijaya English Proficiency Test (USEPT) melalui pelatihan berbasis Longman TOEFL Preparation. Metode yang digunakan adalah test-oriented instruction dengan desain pre-test dan post-test. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 68 peserta dan dilaksanakan selama empat minggu yang mencakup pelatihan listening, structure, dan reading, serta simulasi tes. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor TOEFL yang signifikan, dengan rata-rata skor meningkat dari 558 pada pre-test menjadi 635 pada post-test (kenaikan 77 poin). Sebanyak 88% peserta mengalami peningkatan skor. Meskipun sebagian besar peserta masih berada pada kategori rendah, terjadi pergeseran distribusi kemampuan yang ditandai dengan peningkatan jumlah peserta pada kategori sedang (dari 9 menjadi 15 orang) dan tinggi (dari 2 menjadi 7 orang). Selain itu, hasil angket menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan yang tinggi, dengan lebih dari 90% peserta menyatakan bahwa pelatihan membantu memahami strategi TOEFL dan meningkatkan kesiapan menghadapi USEPT. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berbasis strategi efektif Endalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris akademik, meskipun peningkatan bersifat bertahap. Oleh karena itu, program ini direkomendasikan sebagai model pelatihan berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan kualitas lulusan di perguruan tinggi. This community service program aimed to improve the English proficiency of fourth-semester students of the English Education Study Program at FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya in preparation for the Universitas Sriwijaya English Proficiency Test (USEPT) through training based on Longman TOEFL Preparation. The study employed a test-oriented instruction approach using a pre-test and post-test design. The program involved 68 participants and was conducted over four weeks, covering listening, structure, and reading skills, as well as test simulations.The results revealed a significant improvement in TOEFL scores, with the average score increasing from 558 in the pre-test to 635 in the post-test (an increase of 77 points). A total of 88% of participants showed improvement. Although most participants were still categorized at the lower level, there was a noticeable shift in score distribution, with an increase in the number of participants in the medium category (from 9 to 15 students) and high category (from 2 to 7 students). In addition, the questionnaire results indicated a high level of satisfaction, with over 90% of participants reporting that the training improved their understanding of TOEFL strategies and enhanced their readiness for USEPT. These findings suggest that strategy-based training is effective in improving academic English proficiency, although the improvement occurs gradually. Therefore, this program is recommended as a sustainable training model to enhance the quality of university graduates.

Abstract

Pendidikan nonformal menopang keberhasilan pemberdayaan desa. Perangkat desa dan guru sangat berperan terhadap potensi desa tetapi belum berpartisipasi secara proporsional. Pengabdian ini bertujuan memetakan permasalahan, menggali potensi, serta menyusun program di Desa Ngrawan, Kecamatan Getasan, Kabupaten Semarang. Metode dalam kegiatan ini adalah sosialisasi dan pendampingan. Terdapat 20 peserta pengabdian dari pihak perangkat desa dan guru setempat. Tiga masalah yang ditemukan yaitu: pembelajaran keagamaan yang kurang, rendahnya motivasi untuk melanjutkan pendidikan, serta pernikahan dini. Program yang dipetakan yakni keagamaan dan pendidikan. Program pembinaan keagamaan berupa: tilawah, tahfidul Quran, bimbingan sholat, siroh, dan kultum yang membangun Islamic character building. Program pembinaan pendidikan meliputi: kursus bahasa Inggris, literasi digital, kunjungan edukatif, dan tamu praktisi. Pada permasalahan ketiga, tokoh masyarakat dengan tim pengabdian melaksanakan sosialisasi pencegahan pernikahan dini. Dengan langkah tersebut kegiatan pengabdian memberi dampak nyata bagi warga desa khususnya 80% remaja usia produktif sebesar berpartisipasi dalam program keagamaan dan pendidikan.   Non-formal education supported the success of village empowerment. Village staffs and teachers played a significant role for village potential but they did not participate actively. This community service program aims to group the problems, to explore the potential, and to develop the programs in Ngrawan, Getasan, Semarang Regency. The methods used in this activity were socialization and mentoring. There were 20 participants in this activity consisted of village staffs and teachers. Three problems were identified: inadequate religious education, low motivation in continuing education, and early marriage. The programs generated were religious and educational settings. Religious development programs included: recitation of the Koran, Quran memorization, prayer guidance, siroh, and sermons that foster Islamic character building. Educational development programs provided: English courses, digital literacy, educational visit, and practitioner visit. Regarding to the third problem, community leaders and the community service team conducted activities to prevent early marriage. With these sequential steps, the community service activities had a real impact on villagers, especially for 80% productive-age youth took part in religious and educational programs.

Abstract

As Indonesia becomes increasingly integrated into the global economy, English proficiency is essential for both educational and professional opportunities. However, traditional classroom instruction often prioritizes grammar and writing, resulting in limited development of students' speaking and listening skills. This study investigates students’ perceptions of informal English learning through their participation in the English Club at SMPN 14 Malang. Informal learning environments offer a dynamic setting for practicing English through discussions, storytelling, and interactive activities, thereby fostering both confidence and fluency. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study gathered data from 20 students using open-ended questionnaires to explore their experiences. The findings reveal that students value the club’s relaxed atmosphere, interactive learning methods, and social elements, all of which contribute to increased motivation and language acquisition. Nevertheless, some students report difficulties with public speaking, group dynamics, and the pacing of activities. Recommendations for improvement include incorporating more film-based sessions and maintaining a fun, low-pressure learning environment. This study underscores the role of informal learning in complementing formal instruction and provides insights for educators seeking to design more engaging English language experiences.

Abstract

Kawasan Wisata Religi Kadilangu, Demak, memiliki potensi ekonomi besar namun pelaku usaha mikronya masih menghadapi kendala dalam pengelolaan keuangan yang sistematis. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan metode "Tamyiz Financial Literacy" sebagai strategi mempermudah pemisahan aset pribadi dan bisnis serta pencatatan keuangan sederhana. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi observasi, pelatihan dengan teknik tamyiz (pemisahan dan pengulangan), serta pendampingan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman mitra sebesar 70% dalam mengklasifikasikan pengeluaran dan kemampuan menyusun laporan arus kas sederhana. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan yang adaptif dengan kearifan lokal mampu meningkatkan disiplin finansial pedagang di kawasan Kadilangu. The Kadilangu Religious Tourism Area in Demak has significant economic potential, but its micro-entrepreneurs still face challenges in systematic financial management. This service aims to implement the "Tamyiz Financial Literacy" method as a strategy to facilitate the separation of personal and business assets as well as simple financial record-keeping. The implementation method includes observation, training with the tamyiz technique (separation and repetition), and mentoring. The results of the service show a 70% increase in partners' understanding in classifying expenses and the ability to prepare simple cash flow reports. In conclusion, an adaptive approach with local wisdom can enhance the financial discipline of traders in the Kadilangu area.

Abstract

This article discusses the effort to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kendal through digitalization of English learning​ based on local wisdom with external support in the form of a production book guide for Issul's Bakery. The topic raised is the gap in digital readiness of MSMEs, which is not only related to access to technology, but also limitations in content structured promotion​, as well as practical English language needs for service and marketing. This activity aims to map the need for English communication that is relevant for culinary MSMEs, and develop material contextual digital learning. The method used is an approach with a qualitative dominance through observation, semi- structured interviews, documentation, and thematic analysis. The results show that the main partners focused on standardization of information products and services (menu descriptions, captions, and FAQs). Book developed a guide​ to help speed up production content, improve communication consistency, and grow trust self partners in compile message speaking English. The implications of this activity confirm that digitalization of MSMEs can be strengthened through easy-to-access content​ accessible and learning language-based needs, so that potential increases the quality of service, power competitiveness, and preservation of the local culinary narrative.
