Abstract

This study aims to (1) explain the form of informal vocabulary in the comment column of the Tiktok account @iniganta, (2) explain the morphological process of informal vocabulary in the comment column of the Tiktok account @iniganta, (3) explain the origin of informal vocabulary language in the comment column of the Tiktok account @iniganta. This research is qualitative research using a descriptive method. The results of this study are First, informal vocabulary in the comment column of the Tiktok account @iniganta found as many as 1634 data which includes, basic words found as many as 1262 data and derived words found as many as 372 data; Second, based on the morphological process, 372 data were found which included, (1) affixation found as many as 168 data, (2) acronymization found as many as 159 data, (3) composition found as many as 38 data, (4) reduplication found as many as 7 data, and (5) conversion was not found in the comment column of the Tiktok account @iniganta. Third, based on the origin of the language, three types of languages were found, including, (1) Indonesian found as many as 1167 data, (2) regional languages found as many as 138 data, and (3) foreign languages found as many as 329 data. Of the three types of languages that have been mentioned, the most dominant language used in the comment column of @iniganta Tiktok account is Indonesian.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the image of the main character of women contained in the novel Perempuan yang Menunggu di Lorong Menuju Laut. The type of research used is literary research with descriptive method. The data source is the novel Perempuan yang Menunggu di Lorong Menuju Laut published in 2023 by Dian Purnomo. The data collection technique in this research is a literature study, namely (1) understanding the content of the story and the meaning of the novel under study, (2) conducting literature studies, namely reading and recording things related to research objectives (3) collecting related to the formulation of research problems into tables. The data analysis techniques in this research are: (1) classifying data regarding the form of women's image contained in the novel (2) describing and analyzing the context of speech that describes the image of women in the novel under study (3) interpreting data, (4) drawing conclusions and reporting the results of data analysis. The results of this study explain that the image of women contained in the novel Perempuan yang Menunggu di Lorong Menuju Laut includes women's self-image and women's social image. (a) Women's self-image consists of women's physical image and women's psychological image. (b) The social image of women includes: the role of women in the family and society. The image of women formed in the novel is progressive because it does not follow the conventions of the ideal image of women according to patriarchal ideology.

Abstract

This research aims to describe: (1) the form of social conflict in the novel Terusir by Hamka,(2) the causes of social conflict in the novel Terusir by Hamka,(3) the impact of social conflict in the novel Terusir by Hamka. The object used in this research is the novel Terusir by Hamka, the first printed edition published by Gema Insani in 2016. The type of research used is literary research using descriptive methods. The data in this research are in the form of words, phrases, clauses and sentences that describe social conflict in the form of the narrator's narration about the characters, the characters' speeches, the characters' actions depicted in the setting of the novel Terusir by Hamka. The data collection techniques in this research are reading and understanding the novel, identifying the main character, recording data related to the research problem, and inventorying the data into an inventory format related to the novel Terusir by Hamka. Data analysis techniques include identifying and classifying data, interpreting data, concluding the results of data analysis, and reporting the results of data analysis in the form of a thesis. Based on data analysis, the following forms of social conflict were found in the novel Terusir by Hamka, namely (1) ersonal conflict, (2) group or family conflict, (3)conflict in society. The causes of social conflict are, (1) differences between individuals, (2) differences in social class, (3) differences in interests, (4) social change. The impact of social conflict is in the form of, (1) destruction of group unity, (2) changes in social personality, (3) destruction of norms and social values.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the moral values regarding human bonds with God, individual relationships with themselves, individual relationships with other individuals in a social sphere in a novel entitled Pulang. The type of this research is literary research using the content analysis method. The data source in this research is the novel Pulang by Leila S. Chudori. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by reading, marking events and inventorying the data found. Data analysis techniques include data classification, data analysis, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that human relationships with God consist of tawakal, gratitude, and prayer. Furthermore, human relationships with themselves consist of firmness, regret, and optimism. Third, human relationships with other humans in the social sphere consisting of caring for others, being grateful, honest, and respecting others. This study concludes that Pulang's novel is rich in moral values that can be exemplified by readers. These moral values can help readers build harmonious relationships with God, themselves, and others.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the portrait of sadness experienced by the main character in the novel Gerhana Kembar by Clara Ng. The type of research used is literary research with descriptive method. The methodological approach used in this research is literary psychology, with the theoretical framework of the Five Stages of Grief from Kübler-Ross (1969). The data source in this research is the novel Gerhana Kembar by Clara Ng published in 2015 by Gramedia Pustaka Utama. The data collection technique consists of intensive reading and understanding the contents of the novel carefully and meticulously to gain an understanding of the novel, marking the characters' speech and narration in the novel that is in accordance with the research problem, inventorying the required data contained in the novel. Data analysis techniques in this study are classifying data, analyzing data and connecting with theory and providing critical views, drawing conclusions from the analyzed data. The results of the analysis show that the stages of the main character's grief include the five stages of denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance caused by the loss of valuable things, separation, changes in atmosphere and environment, conflicts in relationships and provide psychological impact and physical impact.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the structure and social function of the folklore of the legend of Putri Runduk in Sibolga Ilir Village. This qualitative research with descriptive method uses data from the folklore of the legend of Putri Runduk in Sibolga Ilir Village. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and data recording, then analyzed with the stages of data description, data classification, and reporting. The results showed that the structure of the folklore legend of Putri Runduk consists of language style, characterization, plot, setting, theme, and mandate, and its social function is as an oral tradition inheritance and educational media. This research is expected to provide a better understanding of the structure and social function of the folklore of the legend of Putri Runduk, and is useful for researchers and people who want to know the cultural values contained in it.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the portrait of women in the novel Lebih Senyap dari Bisikan by Andina Dwifatma. This research focuses on three aspects: (1) portrait of single women, (2) portrait of women as wives, and (3) portrait of women as mothers. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with the novel Lebih Senyap dari Bisikan by Andina Dwifatma as the research object. The research data are words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that describe women's portraits. The data collection technique is done by reading and understanding the novel, marking relevant data, and inventorying the data. Data analysis was conducted by data classification, data interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the novel More Silent than a Whisper by Andina Dwifatma presents a complex and multidimensional portrait of women. The portrait of a single woman is described as independent, ambitious, and has doubts about marriage. The portrait of a woman as a wife is described as loving, strong, and able to adapt to difficult situations. The portrait of women as mothers is described as loving, protective, and willing to sacrifice for their children. This research is expected to contribute to the understanding of the representation of women in Indonesian literature.

Abstract

There are several objectives of this study in order to explain (1) the type of deyxis and (2) the function of persona deyxis as an illocution or speech act in communication with the novel Tuhan, Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur! created by Muhidin M. Dahlan. In its implementation, the study used a novel data source titled Tuhan, Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur! created by Muhidin M. Dahlan with its publisher, Scripta Manent in 2003. This type of research is qualitative through descriptive techniques. This study was used in the form of a persona deyxis in the novel Tuhan, Izinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur! created by Muhidin M. Dahlan. The results of this study are as follows. First, we and we found the first persona deixis in singular form: me, -ku, and me, then for the first persona deixis in plural: we and we, the second persona deixis in singular form: you, you, you, you and you. And the third persona's description is plural: they. Secondly, the illocutionary function of the persona excises is as follows. The pleasing function is more realized with the pronominal I and –me; more competitive functions are realized with pronominal I, me and -me; the function of cooperating is more realized with the pronominal me and you; And the contradictory function is more realized with the pronominal me, you, and us.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the aspects of reduction, addition and variation changes that occur in the elements of plot, setting and characterization. The object of this research is the novel Argantara by Falistiyana published in 2021 and the movie Argantara directed by Guntur Soeharjanto in 2022. This research is a literary research using descriptive method. The data in this research is the entire text content of the novel and movie. The research instrument is the researcher himself. The data collection technique is to read the novel and watch the movie repeatedly then inventory it into the data inventory format and group the data related to the process of ekranisasid from the novel into the film. The data analysis technique used is grouping data about ekranisasi through the categories of aspects of reduction, addition and varied changes from the novel Argantara by Falistiyana into the film Argantara by director Guntur Soeharjanto, concluding the results and writing a report on the results of the analysis in the form of a thesis. The results of this research are: (1) there are 32 reductions in the plot element, 14 reductions in the setting element, and 25 reductions in the characterization element of the novel, (2) there are 41 additions in the plot element, 7 additions in the setting element and 3 additions in the characterization element of the movie, (3) there are 8 changes in the plot element, 4 changes in the setting element, and 6 changes in the characterization element of the novel. This ecranization process adapts the lives of generation z and the media in the process of changing it.

Abstract

Research on domestic violence is a topic that must be known and studied. This studyaims to determine the forms of violence, factors causing violence, and the impact of violencein the novel Bumi dan Lukanya by Revianaaprl. This research is a qualitative research usingdescriptive method. The data collection techniques used in this research are reading andunderstanding the novel Bumi dan Lukanya by Revianaaprl, searching for and recordingevent characters related to the portrait of domestic violence in the novel Bumi dan Lukanyaby Revianaaprl, and inventorying data into the data inventory format related to the novelBumi dan Lukanya by Revianaaprl. The technique of analyzing data in this study is toidentify and classify data related to forms of violence, factors that cause violence, and theimpact of violence, interpret data, draw conclusions and write reports in accordance with thetheory of literary sociology. The results show that the forms of violence in the novel arepersonal violence and structural violence. The causal factors of violence found include:individual factors, social factors, cultural factors, environmental factors, and family historyfactors. The impact of domestic violence in the novel is divided into two, namely physicalimpact and psychological impact. The violence that emerges is a picture of the existing socialreality.
