Abstract

This study aims to describe the affixes that form transitive verbs in the novel Fatamorgana in the Golden Triangle by Suryatini N Ganie, which includes the types of affixes that form verbs, patterns of verb formation, and the meaning of the affixes that form transitive verbs in the novel Fatamorgana in the Golden Triangle by Suryatini N Ganie. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The research data is in the form of words that experience affixation in the novel Fatamorgana in the Golden Triangle by Suryatini N Ganie. Methods of data collection using note takers. The technique of analyzing the data is classifying the affixation data forming transitive verbs, identifying the data, and concluding the data. Data validation technique is trigulation technique. The results of the study concluded that in the process of affixation forming transitive verbs in the novel Fatamorgana in the Golden Triangle by Suryatini N Ganie, it consists of 105 data of me- prefixes, 6 data of me-,-i affix combinations and 54 data of me-,-an affix combinations. There is a change in word class from nouns to verbs, adverbs to verbs, adjectives to verbs, and pronouns to verbs. The patterns of verb formation are (me- + D (Adj/ V/ N/ Pron/ Adv), (me- + D (V) + -i) and (memper- + D (N/ Adj/ V) + -kan). The affixation process results in grammatical changes.

Abstract

Bullying is a social phenomenon that still frequently occurs in school or community settings. Bullying is also considered a public issue that receives global attention, both domestically and internationally. One example is in the world of literature, such as in the novel "Kisah untuk Geri" by Erisca Febriani, which portrays acts of bullying in a school environment. The focus of this article is to describe the act of bullying in Indonesian teenage novels, including (1) its forms, (2) factors, and (3) impacts. This research utilizes a qualitative descriptive method. The data source for this research is the novel "Kisah untuk Geri" by Erisca Febriani. The data collection technique used is reading and taking notes of the information found in the novel "Kisah untuk Geri" by Erisca Febriani. The results of this research will demonstrate the existence of bullying. Firstly, there are three forms of bullying, namely verbal bullying, non-verbal bullying, and physical bullying. The three variables that lead to bullying are individual, peer, and familial influences, in that order. Third, bullying has both psychological and physical effects, which are both negative.

Abstract

This page tries to clarify and outline: (1) the composition of the folklore around the Sigale-gale Statue, located in the Simanindo District of the Samosir Regency of North Sumatra Province; and (2) the significance of the statue. (2) The social significance of the Sigale-gale Statue's folklore legend in the Simanindo District of Samosir Regency, North Sumatra Province. A descriptive methodology is being used in this qualitative investigation. The Sigale-gale Statue's folklore is the focus of this study, which is located in Huta Siallagan, Simanindo District, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra Province. Through observation, interviews, and recorded interviews, information can be gathered from informants. The gathered data underwent multiple levels of analysis. (1) describing the data; (2) classifying or analyzing the data; (3) discussing the analysis of the findings of the classification; and (4) reports. The findings of this study suggest that: 1) The Sigale-gale Statue folklore legend in the Simanindo District, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra Province, has the following elements: style, characterizations, storyline, place, topic, and message. 2) The Sigale-gale Statue in Simanindo District, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra Province, serves three societal purposes: (a) disseminating, (b) educating, and (c) entertaining.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the substrategy of positive politeness used by the characters in Wulan Nuramalia's 7 Soldiers, and how the context of the speech situation uses each of these speech strategies in Wulan Nuramalia's 7 Soldiers. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data of this research are in the form of utterances contained in the dialogues of the characters in the novel 7 Soldier Bapak. The source of the research data is in the form of speech acts that use speech strategies with positive politeness performed by the characters in the novel 7 Soldiers of the Father by Wulan Nurmalia. The data collection technique used is the observation and note taking technique. In this study the data validation technique used in this study was the triangulation technique. Based on the data collected and analysis of research data, the results of this study are as follows. (1) Found 14 types of positive politeness substrategy used by the characters in the novel 7 Soldiers Bapak by Wulan Nurmala from 132 speech data with the following details. Substrategies involve participants in activities, use markers of group intimacy, joke around, give and ask reasons, offer help and promises, pay more attention/give recognition/sympathy, focus on speech partners, use agreements, give gifts, be optimistic, intensify attention , and the three substrategi that were found the least were assuming and displaying the similarity of actions, avoiding conflicts, and equating assumptions into general opinion. (2) The context of the speech situation using each positive politeness substrategy in the novel 7 Soldier Bapak found 6 contexts, namely (a) The context of the speaker's speech situation has greater power (+K) and is not yet familiar (-S), (b) The context of the speaker's speech has greater power (+K) and already familiar (+S), (c) The speaker's context is lower in power (-K) and not yet familiar (-S), (d) The speaker's context is lower in power (-K) and already familiar (+S) ), (e) The context of the speaker has the same power as the speaker (=K) and is not yet familiar (-S), (f) The context of the speaker has the same power as the speaker (=K) and is already familiar (+S).

Abstract

The objective of this study's implementation is to describe the numeralia in Jambi Malay used in the Tanah Sepenggal Lintas District, Bungo Regency, in Jambi Province. This research type falls under qualitative research utilizing descriptive methodologies. The information collected in the context of this study, it takes the form of a set of words in Malay that contain numerals. Two approaches are employed in this investigation: the auditory and verbal interaction methods. The technique employed to validate the data or information in this studi is the triangulation method. The findings of this research are first, derived from the basis of numeralia in Jambi Malay in Tanah Sepenggal Lintas District, two are found, namely (1) the basic numeral form consisting of two forms totaling 19 data, (2) the derived numeral form consisting of three forms of a total of 100 data. Second, based on the types of numerals in Jambi Malay, two types of numerals were found in Tanah Sepenggal District, Bungo Kabuoaten, Jambi Province, namely (1) types of definite numerals consisting of three types totaling 99 data. (2) types of non-definitive numerals found in a total of 21 data.

Abstract

The poet Chairil Anwar often uses the word "night" in his poems. The choice of this word certainly has a specific purpose and agenda. The purpose of this study is to describe the form of figurative language and the function of figurative language that contains the word "night" in Chairil Anwar's poems. This type of research is literary research with descriptive methods. Descriptive research method is a method that is described in words or pictures, not in the form of numbers. The data source for this study is a collection of poems by Chairil Anwar which are found in three books, namely The Roar of Mixed Dust (1949), Sharp Pebbles That Are Snatched and Broken (1949), and Tiga Revealed Destiny (1950). Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by steps; reading and understanding a poem by Chairil Anwar which uses the word “night”; mark the data that are in accordance with the research problem found in Chairil Anwar's poems; inventory data. Data analysis techniques consist of data classification, data description and interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the diction "night" in Chairil Anwar's poetry contains a figurative language of affirmation, comparison, satire; As for the functions contained in the word malam in the poem by Chairil Anwar, they include aesthetic functions, ethical functions, and reflective functions.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the stereotypes attached to urban female characters and discuss the reactions of urban female characters to the stereotypes attached to the novel Kami (bukan) Fakir Asmara by J.S. Khairen. This research uses Feminist Sociology theory which links the analysis of literary works with social phenomena and realities. This research is literary study with descriptive methods. The data collection technique in this research was managed by reading the novel intensively, identified the data, and taking an inventory of the data into a data collection format. The data analysis technique is carried out through content analysis.Based on the research results, there are five negative stereotypes attached to urban female characters in novels. The purpose of these stereotypes is to give women the opportunity to reduce their movement. The two reactions found were a reaction of approval and a reaction of disagreement. These two reactions prove that the existence and voice of women is an effort to oppose patriarchy which is detrimental to women. These reactions are a symbol that women bravely show their identity.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the types of use of code switching and code mixing, the factors that cause code switching and codel mixing, andl the function of codel switching andl code mixingl in thel film Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The object of this research is the dialogue that leads to code switching and code mixing in the film Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens, which consists of 49 data. Data collection was carried out using the listening method, using advanced techniques in the form of (1) note-taking techniques and (2) data transcription techniques. The results of the research show that (1) the type of code switching used in the film Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens consists of two forms, namely internal code switching and external code switching, (2) the causal factors that occur are, the place and time the speech is carried out, the mode of conversation, and topic of conversation, (3) the functions that occur, namely, explaining, asking, confirming, and reminding. The use of code mixing consists of two types, namely internal code mixing and external code mixing, the factors that cause code mixing in the film Ali & Ratul Ratu Queens are speaker factors, and linguistic factors, and finally the function of code mixing in the film Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens, namely accuracy of meaning or feeling, argumentative, persuasive, short and easy to pronounce, and polite and polite.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe: (1) the form of physiological needs of the main character in the novel Kado Terbaik by J.S. Khairen, (2) the form of the main character's need for security in the novel Kado Terbaik by J.S. Khairen, (3) the form of need to be loved and a feeling of love for the main character in the novel Kado Terbaik by J.S. Khairen, (4) the form of need for a sense of appreciation and respect for the main character in the novel Kado Terbaik by J.S. Khairen, and (5) the form of self-actualization needs of the main character in the novel Kado Terbaik by J.S. Khairen. The type of research used is literary research with descriptive methods. The object used in this research is the novel Kado Terbaik by J.S. Khairen. Based on the research conducted, it was found that there are 4 forms of physiological needs, 5 forms of the need for security, 4 forms of the need to feel loved and loving, 3 forms of the need for a sense of esteem and appreciation, and 1 form of the need for self-actualization of the main character in the novel Kado Terbaik by J.S. Khairen.

Abstract

The novel Retak by Azhara Natasya tells about the complexity of the life of the character Gladys which results in her mental health being seriously disturbed. Starting from his life at home where he didn't get love from his parents, his life at school where he became a victim of bullying, to his love life from a different religion. This research aims to describe: (1) the forms of psychological conflict of the main character in the novel Retak by Azhara Natasya, (2) the factors causing the psychological conflict of the main character in the novel Retak by Azhara Natasya, (3) the impact of the psychological conflict of the main character in the novel Retak The work of Azhara Natasya. The type of research is literary research using descriptive methods. The subject used in this research is the novel Retak by Azhara Natasya. Data collection techniques in this research are, (1) reading and understanding the novel, (2) literature study, (3) identifying characters in the novel, (4) marking parts of the story that contain data on the character's psychological conflict, and (5) taking an inventory of the data. into inventory format. There are four data analysis techniques in this research, namely (1) identifying and classifying data, (2) analyzing data, (3) interpreting data, (3) drawing conclusions. The research results obtained are forms of inner conflict of the main character in the novel Retak by Azhara Natasya which are divided into depression, anxiety, feelings of anger, frustration, feelings of insecurity, fear, feelings of inadequacy, heartache. The factors that cause the main character's psychological conflict are divided into the unfulfillment of basic human needs, namely physiological needs, security needs, love and belonging needs, self-esteem, and self-actualization. The impact of the character's psychological conflict is divided into feelings of guilt, self-punishment, and sadness.
