Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is essential to protect babies/children from the risk of infectious diseases. Diarrhea, which is the contagious disease that causes mortality and morbidity in second place in children under five years of age (toddlers), is thought to be related to the low level of exclusive breastfeeding. This research aims to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhoea in babies aged > 0-6 months. This type of research is observational analytic using a cross-sectional design and a retrospective approach. The research population came from babies at the Pasar Merah Community Health Center in 2023. The research sample was 66 babies. Analysis of the relationship between variables was carried out using the chi-square test. The research results were obtained from 66 respondents; 6 (20.7%) babies were exclusively breastfed and suffered from diarrhoea, and 23 (34.8%) did not. Meanwhile, 29 (43.9%) babies who were not solely breastfed suffered from diarrhoea, and only 8 (12.1%) did not suffer from diarrhoea. The results of the chi-square test obtained a p-value = 0.000. The research conclusion shows that exclusive breastfeeding is related to the incidence of diarrhoea in babies aged 0-6 months.

Abstract

The advancement of technology has transformed the health sector, enabling efficient and accessible health monitoring through digital platforms. To support pregnancy monitoring, a mobile-based user experience (UX) design for the BiBu Mobile Health Monitoring Application was developed in 2023 using the Design Thinking method. This prototype was tailored to the needs of pregnant women and midwives in Indonesia and demonstrated feasibility for initial public use. This study involved collaboration with the Provincial Board of the Indonesian Midwives Association (PD-IBI) of Riau Province. Data was collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with key midwifery figures and midwives, along with direct surveys of potential users and the community. These efforts produced valuable feedback and recommendations for improving the prototype. The input was gathered to create a new Software Product Line (SPL), laying the foundation for future product development. Utilizing the prototyping method allowed iterative refinement, ensuring alignment with user needs and expectations, particularly for stakeholders unfamiliar with software development. This research produced a validated SPL that is ready for further development and implementation. It contributes to advancing health digitization and improving maternal health monitoring. The refined product can enhance healthcare quality in Riau Province and support broader health practices across Indonesia.

Abstract

Teacher professional competence is a key factor influencing the quality of learning in the classroom. This study aims to examine the impact of teacher professional competence on the effectiveness of classroom management in secondary schools. A quantitative approach with a correlational research design was employed. The study utilized a survey method, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The population of this study comprised all junior high school teachers in Lembah Seulawah District, Aceh Besar, totaling 102 teachers. A proportional random sampling technique was used to select 81 teachers, calculated using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the product-moment correlation test. The results revealed that teacher professional competence significantly influences classroom management. The Pearson correlation test yielded a coefficient of 0.730 (p = 0.000), indicating a strong positive relationship. This means that higher teacher professional competence corresponds to more effective classroom management. The very low significance value (p = 0.000) confirms that this relationship is statistically significant and not due to chance.
