Abstract

This study aims to explore the neurobiological mechanisms underlying the development of empathy and prosocial behavior in children. The study will use a multidisciplinary approach that combines neuroimaging, neurochemical analysis, and behavioral measurements to understand how children's brains develop in social and emotional contexts. It is hoped that this research will provide in-depth insight into the neurobiological factors that influence children's ability to empathize and act prosocially.

Abstract

Reading is an essential skill in learning English besides Listening, Speaking, and Writing. But unfortunately, based on the latest PISA test, students’ reading comprehension ability in Indonesia is low. This study aims to investigate how Guided Reciprocal Peer Questioning (GRPQ) improves students' reading comprehension. The researcher uses the GRPQ definition from Gillies et al. (2008) to facilitate student group interactions and implements classroom strategies based on King (1994) Wells' (1987) theory on informational literacy reading also provides a theoretical basis. Conducted as action research, this study involved 36 eleventh-grade students at a Public Vocational High School in Surakarta during the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Data were collected through observation, tests, and questionnaires over two research cycles. Results indicate that the GRPQ strategy significantly enhances reading comprehension, shown by improved test scores across cycles. Observations also noted better teacher performance and positive student feedback. Initially, students faced challenges like limited vocabulary, lack of topic knowledge, and grammar difficulties, but these improved with GRPQ. Adjustments in the second cycle, such as clearer instructions, further improved the strategy's effectiveness. The study suggests GRPQ can boost reading skills, confidence, motivation, and create a supportive learning environment, recommending its use in education.

Abstract

There are various challenges in the learning process that is the low motivation of students especially in learning English. However, motivation has an important role in the learning process. This study aims to enhance motivation in learning English using the interactive learning media Bamboozle among Grade XI students at SMKN 2 Surakarta. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles, involving 36 male students from the Automotive Engineering program. Data collection was performed through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in students' motivation across all aspects of the ARCS model (attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction) after the implementation of Bamboozle, with average motivation levels rising from 67.5% to 89%. These findings highlight that Bamboozle can enhance students' intrinsic motivation and overall engagement in the learning process. The implications of this study suggest that integrating interactive media like Bamboozle can significantly improve students' motivation and learning outcomes in learning English.

Abstract

This study aims at exploring the enhancement of volleyball playing skills with the use of learning aids which is conducted in SMKN 2 Surakarta. This study employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) within 2 cycles which comprise of 4 stages for each cycle. The stages are planning, Action (Implementation), observation, and reflection. This study involves 36 students from tenth grade of PPLG A of SMKN 2 Surakarta, consisting of 28 male and 8 female learners. The data sources in this study came from the students, the researcher, and the teacher playing a role as a collaborator. Data collection techniques included a test and an observation. Data validity was ensured using data triangulation techniques. Data analysis employed qualitative descriptive techniques based on percentage qualitative analysis. The analysis results indicated that there is an enhancement in volleyball playing skills in the first cycle, with a completion rate of 58.3%, or 21 out of 36 students. The enhancement continued in the second cycle, with a completion rate of 86.1%, or 31 students meeting the proficiency criteria with a minimum mastery level of 75, while 5 students did not meet the criteria. Based on the results, it is concluded that the use of learning aids can significantly enhance volleyball playing skills in the tenth-grade learners of PPLG A at SMKN 2 Surakarta

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low interest of students in continuing their education to tertiary institutions, this can be seen from the student graduation data over a 5 year period obtained from the school. This research aims to determine the influence of learning motivation and parents' socio-economic status on interest in continuing their education to higher education. This research is quantitative research using a survey method with an ex post facto design. The population of this study were all 89 class XII students. The sampling technique was saturated samples. Data was obtained from distributing questionnaires. The research results show that learning motivation influences interest in continuing education to college. Parents' socio-economic status influences interest in continuing education in college. Then, learning motivation and parents' socio-economic status together influence interest in continuing their education to college. The conclusion of this research is that learning motivation and parents' socio-economic status influence interest in continuing their education to college.

Abstract

People with disabilities often face challenges in gaining equal access to employment opportunities. Limited access and infrastructure, discrimination, and lack of education and skills are the main obstacles. This article aims to provide equal access to education and skills training, create an inclusive work environment, and implement policies that support quotas for workers with disabilities and equal access to infrastructure and technology. This assessment method uses literature studies with online narrative types on Google Scholar. Conclusion: The importance of cross-sector collaboration to create an inclusive and fair work environment for all individuals, including people with disabilities. So that their rights to get work can be protected and fulfilled optimally in the future. Abstract

This study aims to improve the efficiency of donation systems through the integration of a responsive and user-friendly web-based payment gateway. Conventional donation systems still face various challenges, such as limited payment methods, time-consuming manual verification processes, and a lack of transparency in transaction recording. By utilizing payment gateway technology, users can make donations directly through various payment methods, including bank transfers, e-wallets, and credit cards, in real time. The system is developed using a modern web development approach with a PHP framework (CodeIgniter) and a Vue.js-based frontend interface. The implementation results show that the system is able to accelerate the payment process, improve the accuracy of transaction records, and provide convenience in donation monitoring for administrators. This system integration also supports the automatic delivery of digital donation reports. In the future, the system is expected to be further developed by adding instant notification features and donation history tracking to enhance public trust and participation in digital-based social activities.

Abstract

This study examines how religious education is understood and enacted through a psychological lens at SDIT Nuurul A’raaf, Cikarang Selatan, Bekasi. Employing a qualitative case study design, participants included the principal, one Islamic Education teacher, and 8–10 upper-grade students. Data were gathered via semi-structured interviews, participant observation of communal dhuha prayer, morning Qur’an recitation, and daily supplication, as well as document review; data were thematically analyzed with triangulation and member checking. Findings indicate an integrative model in which psychology informs children’s emotional and developmental needs while religion provides meaning and ritual structure. Teacher differentiation personal dialogue, empathic support, and value-laden storytelling was associated with higher motivation, prayer discipline, and improved emotional regulation; the classroom climate was supportive with minimal punishment-based control. Results suggest that religion functions as a positive force for children’s emotional well-being and prosocial behavior, with communal rituals acting as reinforcers of habits. The study recommends strengthening teachers’ micro-counseling skills, balancing the ritual calendar for variety and repetition, and conducting longitudinal evaluation to assess sustained impacts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis puisi “Yang Fana Adalah Waktu” karya Sapardi Djoko Damono menggunakan pendekatan kritik ekspresif. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada kekhasan puisi Sapardi yang sederhana secara bahasa, namun kaya akan perenungan filosofis tentang waktu, kefanaan, dan eksistensi manusia. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada pengungkapan emosi, kepribadian pengarang, gaya bahasa, penggunaan metafora, serta tingkat kejujuran dan daya sentuh puisi sebagai ekspresi batin penyair. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data berupa teks puisi “Yang Fana Adalah Waktu”. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pembacaan intensif dan penafsiran terhadap larik-larik puisi berdasarkan aspek-aspek kritik ekspresif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa puisi ini merefleksikan emosi reflektif dan keprihatinan pengarang terhadap cara manusia memaknai waktu. Kepribadian Sapardi tergambar sebagai sosok yang bijaksana, religius, dan kontemplatif. Penggunaan diksi sederhana, metafora “merangkai bunga”, serta gaya bahasa antitesis antara “fana” dan “abadi” memperkuat ekspresi batin pengarang secara jujur dan menyentuh. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa puisi “Yang Fana Adalah Waktu” merupakan ekspresi autentik pergulatan jiwa Sapardi Djoko Damono dalam memaknai waktu dan kehidupan, sehingga pendekatan kritik ekspresif sangat relevan untuk mengungkap kedalaman maknanya.

Abstract

The gold jewelry industry, particularly within Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), often faces crucial challenges regarding product quality consistency due to high reliance on conventional melting methods. Currently, the vital control of melting temperature relies solely on the operator's visual intuition in observing the glowing color gradation of the crucible. Dependence on this subjective approach carries significant production risks, including porosity defects, low metal alloy homogeneity, and substantial financial losses due to gold mass shrinkage or evaporation caused by overheating. This study aims to engineer a precise real-time temperature monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) to address these issues. The system is developed by integrating an ESP32 microcontroller as the main processing unit that processes digital data from a Type-K thermocouple sensor and MAX6675 amplifier module, then visualizing the data directly through the Blynk app interface on a smartphone. The research method includes designing hardware resistant to extreme heat environments, developing smart notification algorithms for early warning, and field testing on 24-karat pure gold melting. Test results show that the system is capable of monitoring the thermal characteristics of melting through outer crucible wall measurements up to a stable temperature of 625 degrees Celsius, which empirically correlates with the liquid phase of pure gold. The system also features responsive data transmission performance with an average latency of only 1.2 seconds. Additionally, the early warning feature successfully operates effectively at a calibration threshold of 620 degrees Celsius. Implementation of this system proves capable of increasing operational time efficiency and minimizing the risk of melting failure, making it a vital appropriate technology solution for the modernization of the gold industry.
