Abstract

Correspondence administration is an essential component that supports effective communication and coordination within governmental institutions. This study aims to describe the process of managing incoming and outgoing letters in the General Affairs and Staffing Division (Umpeg) of the Palangka Raya City Education Office, as well as to identify supporting factors and obstacles encountered during its implementation. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through direct observation and active involvement of the researcher during the internship period. The results indicate that letter management has followed a structured workflow consisting of receiving, recording, disposition processing, numbering of outgoing letters, and document archiving. However, the archiving process is still predominantly conducted manually, which leads to longer retrieval time and dependence on staff accuracy. Furthermore, coordination and discipline among staff members were found to play significant roles in ensuring the smooth execution of administrative tasks. The study concludes that although correspondence administration at the Umpeg Division is functioning properly, its efficiency can be further improved through gradual digitalization of archives and enhanced staff competency development.

Abstract

Education is the key to improving human intelligence, skills, and morals. In Indonesia, education aims to form a generation of believers and competent. The implementation of the 5S culture (Smile, Greeting, Greeting, Polite, Courteous) in schools, such as in MAN 4 Jombang, is important to instill emotional intelligence and good character. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, collecting data through interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants include the Student Representative, BK Coordinator, teachers, and students. Data were analyzed using source triangulation to ensure validity. The 5S culture in MAN 4 Jombang aims to build a positive tradition despite facing challenges, where the support of teachers and parents is very important. The positive impact is seen in the increasingly polite attitudes of students, strengthening unity, and supporting character education. This culture also improves students' emotional intelligence, creates an inclusive and harmonious school environment, and encourages positive interactions and mutual respect.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the problems of cash transactions in Islamic boarding school cooperatives, which are slow, prone to errors, difficult to monitor, and risky in terms of money loss. The purpose of this research is to design and develop a fast, accurate, and transparent non-cash payment system for the Al-Ghozali Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School Cooperative, while also facilitating the monitoring of student expenditures. The method used is prototyping, which includes communication of requirements, design, implementation, and black-box testing. The hardware developed consists of ESP32, RFID RC522, and a buzzer; the software uses Arduino IDE (firmware), PHP–MySQL (API and database), and a website for cashiers and admin panels. The transaction flow is carried out by tapping the RFID card; the system verifies the UID, automatically deducts the balance, records transactions in real-time, and provides feedback via the buzzer. Web features include card registration, cashier, transaction history and reports, balance top-up, and student balance monitoring. Test results show that all functions work well: accurate card reading, fast processing, consistent recording, and an easy-to-use interface. In conclusion, the system can improve the operational efficiency of the cooperative and the transparency of student financial management, making it suitable for implementation in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and optimize the management of Educators and Education Personnel (PTK) data based on the Personnel Management Information System (SIMPEG) and the Basic Education Data (Dapodik) at the Palangka Raya City Education Office. The phenomenon underlying this study is the suboptimal integration between the two systems, which results in duplication, inconsistency, and delays in updating personnel data. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document studies. Data analysis is conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.The research results indicate that the management of teacher and education personnel (PTK) data at the Palangka Raya City Education Office is still carried out partially between SIMPEG and Dapodik, with the main obstacles being limitations in technological infrastructure, operator competence, and the absence of standardized data integration procedures. Nevertheless, various optimization efforts have been undertaken through human resource competency improvement training, the development of web service-based integration systems, and the implementation of tiered data verification and validation (verval) mechanisms. These efforts successfully increased the data conformity rate between SIMPEG and Dapodik from 63% in 2023 to 87% by mid-2025.The findings of this study indicate that the success of optimizing PTK data management is highly determined by the balance between technology readiness, organizational capacity, and local government policy support, as explained in the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework. In addition to providing practical benefits in improving the efficiency and transparency of educational bureaucracy, the results of this study also support the implementation of the one education data policy in accordance with the mandate of Presidential Regulation Number 39 of 2019 on One Data Indonesia. Therefore, it is recommended that the Palangka Raya City Government formulate specific regulations on integrated education data management and expand digital training for school operators and Education Office staff.

Abstract

Central Bangka Regency has been facing growing environmental pressures resulting from the expansion of oil palm plantations, mining operations, and accelerated urban development. These activities have caused considerable changes in land cover, posing a threat to the sustainability of local ecosystems. This study aims to examine land cover dynamics between 2019 and 2022 and to forecast future conditions for 2030 as a basis for sustainable spatial planning. Sentinel-2A satellite imagery was processed using the Google Earth Engine(GEE) platform, employing the Random Forest(RF) algorithm to classify land cover into five categories: forest, water, built-up, oil palm plantations, and barren. Model validation through the Overall Accuracy metric demonstrated strong classification performance, reaching 0.90297 in 2019 and 0.90849 in 2022. The analysis showed a 21.63% reduction in forest area, alongside significant increases in oil palm and built-up land. The projection for 2030 suggests that forest cover may decline to just 3.35% of the total area, with oil palm plantations and built-up land becoming dominant. These results emphasize the necessity of implementing sustainable land-use management strategies to maintain a balance between economic growth and environmental conservation in Central Bangka Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the coaching and monitoring processes implemented by the Junior High School (SMP) Development Division at the Palangka Raya City Education Office. The study focuses on the forms of coaching activities, monitoring mechanisms, and the effectiveness of both programs in supporting educational quality improvement at the junior high school level. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation methods. Data were obtained through the author's direct involvement during an internship in the Junior High School Development Division. The results indicate that the implementation of coaching and monitoring has been structured through routine programs such as school supervision, principal mentoring, education data verification, and coordination for teacher competency improvement. However, obstacles were also identified, such as limited human resources, suboptimal communication between schools, and uneven implementation of monitoring across the region. Therefore, strengthening the coordination system and digitizing monitoring is necessary to ensure the coaching process is more effective, efficient, and sustainable. This research provides an empirical contribution to efforts to improve the quality of educational services at the junior high school level and serves as a reference for developing school development policies in the region.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the condition of the isolation resistance and contact resistance of the 150 kV Bus A Selayang 1 Conductor Separator (PMS) at the Paya Geli Substation as part of the 2 and 5 year HAR maintenance program. Insulation resistance testing was performed using a TENTECH insulation tester with a test voltage of 3 kV DC, while contact resistance was measured using a micro-ohmmeter with an injection current of 100 A in accordance with KEPDIR 0520-2.K/DIR/2014. The test results showed that the insulation resistance was in the order of hundreds of gigaohms with a leakage current of around 10⁻⁹ A, so that all phases met the minimum limit of 0.5 GΩ. The contact resistance values of 43.24 µΩ, 27.09 µΩ, and 35.90 µΩ were also below the 100 µΩ threshold with very small power loss, so that the 150 kV PMS was declared to be in very good condition and operational and supported power transmission reliability, but still required periodic monitoring and maintenance to prevent performance degradation in the future.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) significantly influences students’ learning behavior, including the potential for dependency and a decline in critical thinking skills. This study aims to assess the level of awareness, usage patterns, and perceptions of students in the Information Systems Program, Faculty of Computer Science, University of Jember regarding the impact of AI on academic activities. A descriptive quantitative method was employed by distributing a Likert-scale questionnaire to 30–50 randomly selected students. The research instrument was validated through content validity by experts and tested for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha. Data were analyzed descriptively using frequencies, percentages, and mean scores. The findings indicate that students possess a strong understanding of AI concepts and benefits, particularly in enhancing learning efficiency and productivity. However, they also recognize risks such as dependency, weakened critical thinking, ethical concerns, and potential data misuse. Overall, the study concludes that the use of AI among students must be balanced with digital literacy, technological ethics, and appropriate regulation to ensure intelligent, critical, and responsible utilization

Abstract

Electric power distribution networks generally receive energy after passing through the transmission system and function to step down and deliver voltage to end consumers. Throughout this delivery process, distribution networks are vulnerable to various disturbances, one of which is voltage drop, which can degrade power quality and disrupt system operational stability. This study aims to address voltage drop issues in distribution networks by applying the Optimal Capacitor Placement (OCP) method. OCP is used to determine the optimal locations and capacities of capacitors to improve voltage profiles, reduce power losses, and enhance the power factor. The research approach includes single-phase distribution network modeling, numerical simulations of loads and operating conditions, and performance evaluation before and after capacitor installation. The analysis focuses on voltage parameters, power losses, power factor, and operational stability in critical network segments. The results show that optimal capacitor placement can stabilize voltage within operational standards, reduce voltage fluctuations, and improve energy distribution efficiency.

Abstract

Medium-voltage (20 kV) power distribution systems are highly susceptible to short-circuit faults and single line-to-ground faults. To ensure system reliability and supply continuity, a protection scheme that is selective, fast, and adaptive to real network conditions is essential. This study aims to design a protection system based on Overcurrent Relays (OCR) and Ground Fault Relays (GFR) using the ETAP 19.0.1 software. The methodology includes single-line system modeling, fault simulations, and analysis of Time-Current Characteristic (TCC) curves and relay selectivity. Simulation results indicate that all relays operate within a selective time range (0.12 s – 0.65 s) without curve overlaps. The minimum selectivity factor (Ks) achieved is 2.1, exceeding the standard threshold of 1.8 for isolated-neutral systems. The proposed design provides reliable protection against high-resistance faults and is suitable for practical implementation in Indonesia’s distribution networks.
