Abstract

This study aims to describe the communication experience of Manggarai students when adapting to students from Kota Kupang at Nusa Cendana University and to analyze the strategies / stages that students go through and to find out and analyze the meanings of Manggarai students about the status of migrant students in Kupang City. This study uses the phenomenology method with the reason that this research departs from phenomena or experiences that occur in everyday life. By using potential informants as data sources, in this study the data is presented through in-depth interviews and non-participant observation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions / verification. This study uses the Accommodation Theory of Communication and Phenomenology Theory as a reference for data analysis. The results of the study based on the Communication Accommodation Theory that from communication experience revealed that, students from Manggarai who were studied conducted convergence by learning to use the dialect and the Kupang language. This is done in order to create effective communication where, the mutual understanding between communicators and communicants. Not only that, students from Manggarai also began to build social intimacy with Kupang City students. In addition, the form of strategies / stages of cultural adaptation carried out by students from Manggarai are students from Manggarai studied doing strategies or stages classified in the Readjustment stage (adaptation phase), and Resolution (resolution / adjustment phase), based on resolution or the final results carried out by Manggarai students were, full participation, where they began to be friends with Kupang City students, and acted as if they were students from Kupang City. Finally, the meaning of students from Manggarai about the status of migrant students in Kota Kupang is based on the Phenomenology Theory in which the knowledge underlying the meaning is obtained through direct experience of students from Manggarai, namely: migrant students as change makers for a better life in the future, and migrant students as science fighter.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui motif penggunaan Facebook oleh Pegawai Honorer Di Laboratorium Pengujian Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat Prov NTT, dan Untuk mengetahui persepsi penggunaan Facebook oleh Pegawai Honorer di Laboratorium Pengujian Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat Prov NTT.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Fenomenologi Komunikasi. Dimana pengalaman adalah hal utama seseorang memberikan makna terhadap suatu benda dalam hal ini facebook.Informan yang di ambil berupa sebagian Pegawai Honorer Pada Laboratorium Pengujian Dinas (PUPR) yang menggunakanfacebook. Motif pegawai honorer pada Dinas PUPR prov NTT menggunakan facebook berbeda berdasarkan atas kebutuhan mereka akan informasi, komunikasi dan hiburan. Facebook dianggap dapat memenuhi kebutuhan mereka untuk dapat bertukar informasi, komunikasi dan hiburan. Presepsi peggunaan facebook sebagai jejaring social dinilai cukup efektif karena dapat memenuhi kebutuhan penggunanya. Facebook dinilai cukup menarik dan memberikan dampak positif bagi penggunanya.

Abstract

Kreativitas para sineas di Indonesia dapat dikatakan masih statis, dilihat dari minimnya genre-genre film yang ada di tanah air. Kebanyakan genre film di Indonesia hanya seputar drama romantik, komedi, horor, dan seks yag inti ceritanya sama sekali tidak memiliki unsur edukasi (mendidik), jangan hanya kemasan di buat berbeda. Hal ini yang semakin mengurangi pudarny rasa nasionalisme masyarakat Indonesia khususnya dikalangan mahasiswa. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan verifikatif, yakni hasil penelitian yang kemudian diolah dan diambil kesimpulan. Metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan permasalahan dan metode verifikatif untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh rumusan masalah. Tentunya terdapat pengaruh antara skenario dan gambar pada rasa nasionalisme mahasiswa. Begitu juga antara skenario dan rasa nasionalisme mahasiswa. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis skenario dan gambar pada film "Ayo Pulang Kampung" memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap rasa nasionalisme mahasiswa brodcasting BSI Jakarta.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi komunikasi pemasaran tentang citra merek BRIZZI sebagai uang elektronik PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Tbk. Cabang Kupang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori marketing mix, yang memiliki 4 unsur P : Product, Price, Place dan Promotion. Informan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 6 orang yang terdiri dari Asisten Menejer Pemasaran Dana BRI Cabang Kupang, Relationship Manajer BRI Cabang Kupang, Costumer Service BRI Cabang Kupang, Konsumen yang menggunakan BRIZZI dan masyarakat yang tidak menggunakan BRIZZI. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa PT. Bank Rakayat Indonesia, Tbk Cabang Kupang telah berupaya dalam memperkenalkan produk BRIZZI agar dapat dikenal oleh masyarakat Kota Kupang, dengan kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah menjadi sponshorship dalam turnamen Developmental Basketball League (DBL), program sosialisasi BRIZZI di instansi-instansi, bekerja sama dengan SPBU dan Pemerintah Kota Kupang, memuat iklan pada majalah, koran, radio, media sosial khususnya facebook dan instagram milik Bank BRI, dan mengedukasi masyarakat melalui media-media yang telah bekerja sama dengan Bank BRI Cabang Kupang. Penelitian ini juga menemukan faktor yang menghambat dalam pengenalan kartu BRIZZI kepada masyarakat Kota Kupang adalah kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang kegunaan dan fungsi dari BRIZZI dan juga BRIZZI tidak dilengkapi dengan PIN keamanan. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Tbk Kupang Branch ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the implementation of marketing communications about the BRIZZI brand image as electronic money of PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Tbk. Kupang Branch. This type of research is a qualitative study using qualitative descriptive methods. The theory used is the marketing mix theory, which has 4 elements of P: Product, Price, Place and Promotion. Informants in this study amounted to 6 people consisting of Assistant Manager of BRI Branch Fund Marketing, BRI Branch Relationship Manager BRI Branch, Customer Service BRI Branch Kupang, , Consumers who use BRIZZI and people who do not use BRIZZI. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Tbk Kupang Branch has made an effort to introduce BRIZZI products to be known by the people of Kupang City, the activities carried out were to become sponsorships in the Developmental Basketball League (DBL) tournament, the BRIZZI socialization program in agencies, in collaboration with the SPBU and the Kupang City Government, placing advertisements on magazines, newspapers, radio, social media especially facebook and instagram owned by the Bank BRI, and educating the public through the media that has been working with BRI Bank Kupang Branch. This study also found that the inhibiting factor in the introduction of the BRIZZI card to the people of Kupang City was the lack of public knowledge about the use and function of BRIZZI and also that BRIZZI was not equipped with a security PIN. Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tema-tema fantasi dalam kelompok Silky Band, menganalisis konvergensi simbolik Silky Band dalam membangun kohesivitas kelompok. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori konvergensi simbolik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis tema fantasi dan objek dalam penelitiannya adalah anggota kelompok Silky Band. Pemilihan informan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah autoetnografi, dokumentasi dan wawancara mendalam. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah empat konsep dalam analisis tema fantasi. Pada hasil penelitian, peneliti menemukan tiga dari empat konsep dalam analisis tema fantasi yakni tema fantasi, rantai fantasi, dan tipe fantasi selain itu kedua simbol antara lain simbol verbal dan simbol non-verbal juga ditemukan dalam penelitian tersebut. Maka hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa permainan simbol-simbol dan fantasi-fantasi yang terjadi diantara anggota kelompok Silky Band membetuk kohesivitas di antara mereka. Kata Kunci: Tema fantasi, permainan simbol, teori konvergensi simbolik, anggota kelompok Silky Band.

Abstract

Research with the title "Therapeutic Communication in Nursing Care in Class III Inpatient at the Prof. DR. W.Z. Johannes Kupang Hospital "is based on the importance of the therapeutic communication of nurses and patients at Prof. DR. W.Z. Johannes Kupang Hospital. This study focuses on how therapeutic communication in nursing care in class III inpatient at the Prof. DR. W.Z. Johannes Kupang hospital with the aim to analyze therapeutic communication in nursing care in inpatient room class III of Prof. DR. W.Z. Johannes Kupang hospital. Case study method is used in this research. The results of this study indicate that in the nursing care process that takes place in inpatient rooms of class III at Prof. DR. W.Z. Johannes Kupang hospital, the four stages of therapeutic communication can be found in the three parts of the therapeutic communication process, namely when the patient enters, when giving nursing care, and when the patient is discharged. The pre-interaction stage and the introductory stage appear in the communication process when the patient enters. The work phase which is the core of the therapeutic communication process appears in the communication process at the time of nursing care. The last stage is the termination stage which is divided into temporary termination stages, which is seen in the communication process of nurses and patients each time the nurse finishes providing routine nursing care every day. The final termination stage that appears in the nurse's communication with the patient is when the patient is declared allowed to go home or when the patient dies. Participants involved in the therapeutic communication process are not only nurses and patients but is also supported by doctors and patients' families. In the end these stages are interrelated with one another and create a fairly good communication process in nursing care in class III inpatients at the Prof.. DR. W.Z. Johannes Kupang hospital.

Abstract

The appearance of women in music videos is a site that shows various ideologies which influence the thinking of a society about the construction of women, including the construction of the profession of women. The appearance of women is inseparable from values and is not solely in the interests of women but there are certain interests. This study wants to see whether the representation of the women's profession in the local music video shows strength in women or leads to a new repression for local women in East Nusa Tenggara. The aims of this study are to provide an overview of the meaning of the women's profession through local music videos of East Nusa Tenggara and to provide a description of the hybridity discourse in the depiction of the women's profession through the NTT Local music video. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research uses the approach of feminism, the women's profession, public space and cultural hybridization theory to see how the meaning of the women's profession in local music videos in East Nusa Tenggara. This study uses the analysis of semiotics of Carol Vernalis. The data in this study were analyzed in 3 stages, namely: (1) structural analysis created in the music video, (2) reading the video chronology and analysis of two specific parts, and (3) understanding the women's profession in terms of cultural hybridity. The results of this study indicate that women who are teachers are not professionally interpreted as attached to the teaching profession but emphasize the symbols of modern women through space and fashion. Hybridity between the appearance of modern women but still bound by local patriarchal culture. Women who are midwives are interpreted by the domestication of women. Women are shown with an ideal picture of women. The meaning of the women's profession experienced repression, where the women's profession featured in this local music videos is the result of a tug-of-war on various discourses in which the appearance is more concerned with modernity that leads to industrial interests. Hybridity is not only related to the fusion of culture but the consequences of domination that arise when there is fusion of culture. In the end, this music videos do not fully show the female profession but the interests of modernity, global, patriarchy are prioritized.

Andung, S.Sos, M.Si and Ferly Tanggu Hana, S.Si, M.Comn. Consists of 178 pages. 18 Reference books, 5 journals and 8 internet sites. Communication is almost a natural action that is not intentional for almost everyone. Therefore the function of its effectiveness can be ignored. Because communication is also an inseparable part of the world of health, intermediaries through doctors and nurses will always be in contact with patients. Hence effective communication skills will have a positive impact on the quality and outcome of health care for patients. This qualitative research aims to explore effective communication, how its relationships and influences for health and also to find ways to improve effective communication in health care settings in patients. The therapeutic communication concept also tries to highlight the importance of this communication concept, which is done through verbal or nonverbal communication and nurses consciously influence the patient or help the patient. Patients with mental disorders are a description of the syndrome with a variety of causes. Much is not yet known with certainty and the course of the disease is not always chronic. Generally characterized by fundamental deviations, the characteristics of thoughts and perceptions, and the presence of unnatural or blunt effects. Naimata Kupang Mental Hospital (Naimata Mental Hospital) is the only mental hospital in the Kupang City. Face to face communication is something that is often done by health staff at Naimita Mental Hospital with patients. Face-to-face communication (part of therapeutic) is more accurate for patient's healing process because in face-to-face communication the patient is more concerned and easier for therapist to see concepts in the patient and understand the problems that patient is experiencing. Hence this function can also encourage patients to express their feelings and ideas more clearly. There are various reactions to "therapeutic communication" because all patients are different in character, background, social status, culture, and so on.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Ritual tofa lele merupakan salah satu tahapan kegiatan pertanian yang wajib dilaksanakan petani Atoni Pah Meto. Tofa lele adalah kegiatan membersihkan atau mencabuti gulma yang tumbuh di sekitar tanaman utama petani. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk menganalisis peristiwa komunikasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah etnografi komunikasi. Pendekatan ini digunakan untuk memberikan pemahaman mengenai pandangan dan nilai-nilai suatu masyarakat sebagai cara untuk menjelaskan sikap dan perilaku anggota-anggotanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa melalui komponen komunikasi sebuah peristiwa komunikasi dapat diidentifikasi. Komponen etnografi komunikasi sebagai berikut: Setting atau Latar, Partisipan (Participants), Tujuan (End), Isi pesan (Act Secuence), Bentuk Isi Pesan (Key), Kaidah Interaksi Jalur bahasa yang digunakan (Insturumentalities), Norma-Norma Interpretasi (Norms), Genre atau tipe peristiwa komunikatif, Topik, dan Urutan Tindakan. Berdasarkan analisis terhadap komponen etnografi komunikasi, maka kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah komunikasi pada ritual tofa lele dapat dipahami melalui isi doa adat yang mengandung makna pengharapan agar para petani dijauhi dari berbagai bentuk malapetaka selama melakukan kegiatan tofa lele serta permohonan agar gulma tidak menghambat pertumbuhan dan kesuburan tanaman yang ada dalam kebun para petani. Kata Kunci: Tofa Lele, Komunikasi Ritual, Peristiwa Komunikasi, Komponen Komunikasi ABSTRACT Tofa lele ritual is one of the stages of agricultural activities that must be carried out by Atoni Pah Meto farmers. Catfish tofa is the activity of cleaning or pulling weeds that grow around the main crop of farmers. The purpose of this study was to analyze communication events. The method used in this research is communication ethnography. This approach is used to provide an understanding of the views and values ​​of a society as a way to explain the attitudes and behavior of its members. The results show that through the communication component a communication event can be identified. The ethnographic components of communication are as follows: Setting or Setting, Participants, Objectives (End), Message Content (Act Secuence), Form of Message Content (Key), Interaction Rules of Language used (Insturumentalities), Interpretation Norms (Norms) ), Genre or type of communicative event, topic, and action sequence. Based on an analysis of the communication ethnographic component, the conclusion of this study is that communication on tofa lele rituals can be understood through the contents of traditional prayers which contain the hope that farmers are kept away from various forms of catastrophe during tofa lele activities and requests that weeds do not inhibit plant growth and fertility in the farmers' garden. Abstract

ABSTRAK Seni ukir kayu motif khas Timor merupakan salah satu produk budaya asli Timor yang patut dilestarikan. Modernisasi menggerus hampir semua nilai dan aspek kehidupan, sehingga wawasan ketertarikan intens terhadap seni ukir dengan motif khas Timor sangatlah terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mengidentifikasi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman pelestarian seni ukir kayu motif khas Timor di Kecamatan Oebobo Kota Kupang dan 2) menyusun strategi perancangan komunikasi visual guna mendorong promosi seni ukir kayu motif khas Timor. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan SWOT. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa strategi perancangan yakni: a) kebutuhan pembinaan berkelanjutan peningkatan kualitas karya seni dan pemanfaatan media komunikasi visual untuk mempromosikan hasil karya dari para seniman ukir, b) membangun kerja sama pihak perguruan tinggi dan lembaga adat yang memiliki kepedulian terhadap kebudayaan Timor, c) perlu ada komunitas formal seniman ukir, serta menjalin kerja sama untuk mengagendakan promosi hasil karya seni dalam berbagai event resmi pemerintah, d) perlu melibatkan lembaga /organisasi pemberdayaan terhadap hasil karya seni, sekaligus memberikan reward kepada generasi muda produktif yang menghasilkan karya seni berkualitas tinggi, dan e) adanya media penyampaian informasi komunikasi visual berbasis online, sebagai sarana informasi hasil karya seni. Bahkan dapat dibangun gedung pusat promosi hasil karya seni.
