Abstract

Effect and Analysis (FMEA) method, Risk Priority Number (RPN) Gas production need to consider the risks of the process of production and distribution. The purpose of this research is to identify the risks that exist in the supply chain management of PT. Aneka Gas Industri, and determine mitigation methods from any of existing risk. Identification method that used is the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), The FMEA tracking various types of failures from the existing system in PT. Aneka Gas Industri then analyze all the effects caused by the damage. The result that achieved is a descripton of the seriousness and consequences of risk for the company, and the quantification of the value of risk-based of Risk priority Number (RPN). The risk factors of power supply is the most part of critical failure with RPN score 729 and the risk factors of quality of the gas that’s uncertain will be a part of the lowest failure with RPN score of 18. Key words : Supply chain management, Failure Mode

Abstract

Mixing gasoline (premium) with a "Cap-Tikus" is one solution to reduce the consumption of conventional fuels. In this study, testing was conducted on a Suzuki Smash 110 CC motorcycles made in 2003 to analyze the fuel consumption for the 2.5 km mileage on gear ratio-2, 3, 4, and velocity 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 km / h with volume mixture of 15% "Cap-Tikus" and 75% gasoline. "Cap-Tikus" used is containing 65% - 90% alcohol (ethanol). Trial of using the gasoline mixed with "Cap-Tikus" is fail to start the engine. Replacing “Cap-Tikus” with “Spiritus” successfully run the engine. It is found that the consumption of the mixture fuel is reducing the consumption of gasoline. The most efficient consumption fuel obtained in the 4th gear using the fuel mixtures are 20.43; 28.64; 38.15; 40.50, and 51.20 g / hr respectively for speed 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 km / h. Keywords: "cap-tikus", alcohol, fuel consumption, spiritus.

Abstract

One of the tests used to determine the mechanical properties of the metal are tensile test. The results obtained from tensile testing is the yield strength of the material. In the tensile test, applying load and extension of the material are manually analyzed. The research objective is to develop software and perform simulation of tensile testing test based on applying load and extension. Simulation results can determine the of technical strength and true strength of material the base on the results of tensile testing specimens of copper shafts circular cross section and angle shape cross section of construction steel specimen. Abstract

One of the factor to minimize the total cost is increasing the efficiency staples of copra, to avoid raw materials shortage that will make the production process stopped or the company will paying more for storage when the raw materials is excessive. This research is applying EPQ (Economic Production Quantity) method to determine the quantity and the period of staples ordering in a palm oil industries, using PT. Salim Ivomas Pratama Tbk as a case study. By using EPQ method, the company could anticipating the gradually arrival of raw materials. Financially, EPQ method is more optimal in ordering the raw materials. The calculation resulted, the value of Q0 (order quantity) is 79.539,90 tons and T0 (order period) is 1,29 months. Applying EPQ will profit the company. Keyword : EPQ, Order quantity, Order period

Abstract

Conveyor is an auxiliary equipment in a production process. The main component of a chain conveyor is chain . This chain is driven through a sprocket which is connected to an electric motor through a reduction gear. Process of designing a chain conveyor required several parameters that are : the characteristics of the transported material, conveyors geometry, conveyors capacity and conveyor speed. Design resulted in chain dimension and the required motor power. Comparing the design to the existing conveyor as a case of study, it was found that the electric motor used is larger than necessary which in turn that the speed of the chain there can still be improved in order to increase production capacity. Abstract

This research is aimed to determine the effects of brown gas mixed with gasoline on  fuel consumption of a Suzuki Smash 110cc. Data taken in this study is the fuel consumption of the vehicle on different  gear ratio, and velocity of the vehicle within a distance of 2.5 km. Analyzing is done on gear ratio-1 at 10,15,20,25,30 km/h, whereas on gear ratio-2,3 and 4 at 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40. The result of observations and computation shows fuel consume rate gear ratio-1 is 266,4; 349,3; 455,1; 562,6 and  697,5 gr/hr on gear ratio-2 is 359,2, 410,9, 439,0; 545,9 and  648,9 gr/hr,  on gear ratio-3 is 296,9; 295,8; 408,6; 494,4 and 624,5 gr/hr, on gear ratio-4 is 201,9; 249,4; 412,0; 330,8 and 538,0 gr/hr with the speed of 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 km/h consecutively. The conclusion is the higher the speed of motorcycle, the greater the rate of consumption. It was found that the testing is executed in the range of engine speed of 2136 to 6182 rpm. These results demonstrate that the motor cycle is more efficient if using gears ratio-4 at a speed of 20 km/h to 40 km/h. Key Word :  fuel consumption , brown gas, gasoline engine, Suzuki Smash 110cc.

Abstract

enMost refrigeration system using synthetic refrigeration R-12, R-22, R-134, and R-600a. Synthetic refrigeration has many good characteristics, among others, not easy to burn, no poisoned, and easy to get. However, synthetic refrigeration has negative effects for environment. It can broke  our ozone layer and make global warming. The using of hydrocarbon as refrigerant is one of the solution to handle these problems. An experiment is done using unit SN 1016-1-149-1 cooler machine in mechanical laboratory in Sam Ratulangi University in Manado. Data is taken after completed  the unit preparation. Analysis is done by comparing the cooling rate beetwen R-12 and MC-12. The average cooling rate of R-12 cooler are and respectively using air and water cooling media. In a serial of three experiments, The average electric current used in the unit are 0,75 A and 0,74 for air and water media respectively using of R-12 and Of MC-12 refrigerant . The average cooling capacity of MC-12 is . Then, faund that MC-12 cooler capacity by air and water media is bigger than R-12 cooler capacity by air and water media. Abstract

Lubricating oil available in a wide range which is offered consumers through the promotion in order to convince consumers that the product is the best. This study aims to determine preferences of consumers in the selection of motorcycle 4-stroke type lubricating oils using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. From the analysis using the AHP based on criteria, it shows that durability is ranks the first with a weight value of 0.5034, following with stock availability (0.5019), price (0.4248), and recommendations of manufactorer coming last (0.3840). As for the preference of alternative lubricating oil, analysis base on brand of motorcycle it shows that Yamaha with Yamalube 7.5% all criteria, Honda with Yamalube of respective value 4.77% and 4.37% on criteria recomendation of manufactorer and price, Enduro 3.16% the stock availability, and federal 3.08% for durability. Suzuki of Yamalube which is value of 3.43% and 3.05% on criteria recommendation of manufactorer and price, Enduro respectively 3.56% and 3.43% to criteria stock availability and durability. Kawasaki on Enduro with 43.76% and 26.85% to the price and stock availability, Top-1 27.17% and 31.28% to recommendations of manufactorer and durability.
