Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work ethic and workload on the performance of employees of the Bondowoso Education Office with work discipline as an intervening variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method of employees within the Bondowoso Education Office. The results of the study show that work ethic and workload each have a significant effect on employee performance. In addition, work ethic and workload have also been shown to have a positive effect on work discipline, while work discipline directly has an impact on improving employee performance. The path analysis revealed that work discipline mediates the influence of work ethic and workload on employee performance, so work discipline is an important factor that strengthens the relationship between the two variables on performance. These findings affirm the importance of strengthening the value of work ethic, workload management, and improving discipline as the main strategies in efforts to optimize employee performance at the Bondowoso Education Office.

Abstract

Public sector organisations face increasingly strong accountability demands, making employee performance an important aspect that must be maintained consistently. KPP Pratama Badung Utara, as a vertical unit of the Directorate General of Taxes, is required to demonstrate stable performance, especially on indicators related to stakeholder and customer perspectives. However, the Organizational Performance Value (NKO) data for the 2022–2024 period shows a decline in several key indicators, indicating the need for an evaluation of internal employee factors. This study examines the role of workload, job satisfaction, and work motivation in explaining variations in the performance of KPP Pratama Badung Utara employees. The study uses a quantitative approach through a survey with a Likert scale questionnaire instrument. The data were analysed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression to test the simultaneous and partial effects between variables. The results of the study indicate that workload, job satisfaction, and work motivation collectively influence employee performance. Partially, job satisfaction and work motivation are proven to be factors that drive performance improvement, while workload shows a relationship that needs to be managed proportionally so as not to reduce productivity. These findings highlight the importance of human resource management strategies in the public sector through proper workload distribution, enhancement of job satisfaction, and development of employee motivation to support sustainable organisational performance.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of digital leadership on innovative work behavior with digital self-efficacy as a mediating variable and organizational learning culture as a moderating variable among civil servants. Using a quantitative explanatory approach with a survey design, data were collected from 200 civil servants in Regional Government Organizations in Central Java Province and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings show that digital leadership has a positive and significant effect on innovative work behavior (β=0.312; p<0.01) both directly and through the mediation of digital self-efficacy (β indirect=0.154; p<0.01). Digital leadership is also a strong predictor of digital self-efficacy (β=0.483; p<0.01). However, organizational learning culture does not moderate the relationship between digital self-efficacy and innovative work behavior (β=0.050; p=0.448). These findings confirm that effective digital leadership, supported by employees’ digital self-confidence, is a key determinant of innovative work behavior in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

Public sector organisations are required to demonstrate optimal performance as a form of accountability to the public, particularly in delivering effective services oriented toward public interest. Account Representative (AR) performance, as the frontline of Badung Utara Tax Office, plays a strategic role in supporting taxpayer compliance and achieving state revenue targets. However, revenue realization at Badung Utara Tax Office has not yet reached the established targets. This study aims to analyze the effect of work motivation and organisational commitment on Account Representative performance at Badung Utara Tax Office, as well as to test the moderating role of work ethic. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaire distribution to AR at Badung Utara Tax Office and analysed using statistical analysis techniques and PLS-SEM to test the relationships among variables. Work motivation and organisational commitment are positioned as independent variables, AR performance as the dependent variable, and work ethic as the moderating variable. The research results indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on AR performance. Similarly, organisational commitment is proved to provide a substantial contribution to performance improvement. Furthermore, work ethic is proven to moderate the effect of work motivation on AR performance, thereby strengthening the manifestation of motivation into consistent work behaviour orientated toward public service. However, work ethic does not moderate the effect of organisational commitment on AR performance. This research is expected to provide practical contributions for human resource management within Badung Utara Tax Office to enhance employee performance sustainably.

Abstract

This research analyzes the differences of the financial performance within transportation and logistics companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange before and after the implementation of PSAK 116. Financial performance is measured using financial solvency ratios (DAR, DER, LTDtER), profitability ratio (ROA), and liquidity ratio (Current Ratio). The research used a comparative quantitative approach using panel data from 16 sample companies over an eight-year period (2016–2023), those were divided into the pre-implementation period (2016–2019) and the post- implementation period (2020–2023) of PSAK 116. The technique of data analysis used were include paired difference tests (Paired Sample t-Test and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test) after conducting the Shapiro–Wilk normality test. The hypothesis testing results indicate that the implementation of PSAK 116 has a statistically significant impact on DER, but does not have a significant effect on the other four financial performance ratios (DAR, LTDtER, ROA, and Current Ratio). Further qualitative analysis reveals those findings are caused by heterogeneous impacts, in the mean while the significance in DER is driven by the ratio’s sensitivity in companies with high leverage levels, furthermore the non-significance in other ratios is attributed to the materiality of lease transactions.
