Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and identify the obstacles faced and provide recommendations for improvements to the satisfaction of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) users at Duta Indah Hospital using the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) method. At Duta Indah Hospital the EMR system used is Medinfras. EUCS is used to measure user satisfaction with the application system by comparing user expectations with the reality experienced. This evaluation examines seven variables: content, display (format), accuracy, ease of use, timeliness, speed, and flexibility. This research method uses descriptive quantitative with 63 respondents selected as samples. Data were collected through an online questionnaire, processed using Microsoft Excel 2016 software and analyzed using SPSS Version 25 software with a Likert scale to measure the level of satisfaction. The results showed that the majority of users felt "quite satisfied" with all variables, namely: content (57%), display (57%), timeliness (59%), speed (58%), flexibility (56%), accuracy (54%) and ease of use (54%). In conclusion, the RME system is considered quite adequate in supporting user performance, with accurate information, easy-to-understand displays, and efficiency in time and flexibility. The suggestion for the hospital is to conduct an evaluation, improve the appearance of the system menu so that users can access the system more easily and improve regular system maintenance.

Abstract

The coverage of complete basic immunization (CBI) in Indonesia has experienced a significant decline, dropping from 93.7% in 2019 to 84.5% in 2021. Aceh Province was recorded as one of the lowest regions nationwide, achieving only 39.4% and ranking among the bottom three provinces. Low public awareness and knowledge, particularly in rural areas, have become the main factors contributing to the low participation in immunization programs. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of door-to-door education in improving the knowledge and awareness of mothers with toddlers and its impact on immunization participation in Mukhan Village, Indrajaya Subdistrict, Aceh Jaya District. The research applied a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test design and no control group, involving 25 mothers of toddlers who were directly visited through a one-month door-to-door program. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and by recording the immunization status of the toddlers. The findings revealed that before the intervention, only 36% of toddlers had received complete basic immunization, while 64% had incomplete immunization. After the educational intervention, there was a positive shift in attitudes among several mothers who had previously doubted or refused immunization, including one mother who later agreed to participate in catch-up immunization. Door-to-door education proved effective in enhancing knowledge and awareness, as it enabled direct communication that clarified myths and addressed concerns about immunization. Although overall immunization coverage remains low, the observed positive change in attitudes highlights the potential for increased participation through continuous efforts, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and the active involvement of health cadres and local community leaders.

Abstract

Hypertension is a medical condition characterized by systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg, which are at risk of causing various complications. One of the efforts to control hypertension is through non-pharmacological therapies such as a healthy diet, including the consumption of carrot juice. This study aims to determine the difference in blood pressure reduction in elderly people with hypertension who are given carrot juice at the Posyandu Elderly in Montong Village, Tuban Regency. The study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental quasy design and a "Two Group Pre-test and Post-test Design" design. The sample consisted of 18 respondents who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using a needle sphygmomanometer and observation sheet, then analyzed with the Paired T-Test and the Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed that the group given carrot juice experienced a significant decrease in blood pressure, with mean systolic values from 162.3 mmHg to 145.5 mmHg and diastolic from 90.0 mmHg to 81.67 mmHg. These findings show a difference in blood pressure before and after the carrot juice intervention. The conclusion of this study is that carrot juice has the potential to be an effective alternative to non-pharmacological therapy in lowering blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. This research is expected to be a reference for health workers in the development of local food-based interventions for hypertension control.

Abstract

Iron deficiency is one of the main causes of anemia, especially in women of childbearing age who have higher iron requirements. Preventive efforts can be done through functional food innovations based on natural iron sources. Beetroot (Beta vulgaris L.) and red spinach (Amaranthus sp.) are known to contain iron in high amounts so they have the potential to be used as alternative raw materials in the manufacture of gluten-free noodles. This study aims to determine the effect of beetroot flour and red spinach flour formulations on the organoleptic properties (color, aroma, taste, and texture) and iron content of gluten-free noodle products. The study used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments: F0 (control), F1 (50:50), F2 (75:25), and F3 (25:75). Iron content analysis was carried out using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method, while the organoleptic test involved 25 untrained panelists who were women aged 15–24 years. The results showed that treatment F3 produced the highest iron content of 12.092 ± 1.658 mg/100 g, while F2 achieved the highest sensory acceptability. Nevertheless, formulation F3 was determined to be the best formulation due to its optimal iron content. This gluten-free noodle product based on beetroot and red spinach has the potential to be developed as a functional food to prevent iron deficiency anemia in women of childbearing age.

Abstract

Refill Drinking Water Depots (DAMIU) are businesses that provide ready-to-drink drinking water through raw water processing using simple and modern technology. The existence of DAMIU is very important in meeting the community's need for drinking water, but aspects of sanitation hygiene and water quality must remain a primary concern to avoid health risks. This study aims to describe the sanitation hygiene conditions and assess the microbiological quality of refill drinking water at DAMIU in the Indralaya Community Health Center working area in 2025. The study used a descriptive method with a laboratory approach to 27 refill drinking water depots. Data were collected through observations of location conditions, buildings, equipment, and handler hygiene, and laboratory examinations were conducted on raw water and processed water samples. The results showed that the majority of depots (92%) had met the requirements related to location and buildings, while all depots (100%) met the standards for processing equipment. However, drinking water handlers still did not comply with applicable hygiene standards (100%). Only 70% of depots had suitable raw water sources, with 55% using the Sukomoro source, 41% using drilled wells, and 4% using the Dewa Air Prabumulih source. Laboratory tests found that two depots (8%) had raw water that tested positive for Escherichia coli, but all treated water samples met established microbiological standards. Overall, this study concluded that the location, building, and equipment of the Drinking Water Supply Unit (DAMIU) in the Indralaya Community Health Center (Puskesmas) area were satisfactory, but handler hygiene remained a weakness that needed immediate improvement. Furthermore, the physical and chemical quality of the water still required attention, although the microbiological quality met standards.

Abstract

Maternal and child mortality remains a major public health challenge in Indonesia, with Brebes Regency identified as one of the regions with a relatively high burden. This study aims to provide a narrative review of strategies implemented to reduce maternal and child mortality in Brebes, while highlighting their relevance within the broader Indonesian health policy framework. Literature from peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, published between 2019 and 2024, was reviewed. The findings indicate that strategic planning at the district level emphasizes strengthening the role of midwives, improving access to primary health services, and integrating local programs with national policies. Behavioral nutrition interventions, such as the Baduta Program, and community-based innovations, such as “Buaian Services,” have shown potential in improving maternal and child health outcomes. However, challenges persist in the form of limited resources, disparities in service quality, and cultural barriers to health-seeking behavior. This review underscores the importance of combining top-down policy approaches with bottom-up community-driven initiatives. Future research is recommended to adopt mixed-method designs for a more comprehensive evaluation of program effectiveness.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Early Warning System (EWS) in anticipating and responding to mental health crises in conflict-affected regions of the Middle East through a systematic review of 47 scholarly articles published between 2014 and 2024. The meta-regression findings indicate a significant contribution of EWS implementation to the reduction of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms with a coefficient of β = -0.67 (p < .001), as well as depressive symptoms with a coefficient of β = -0.59 (p < .001) among populations directly affected by armed conflict. Among 12,456 respondents analysed, 73.8% reported a reduction in anxiety symptoms following the implementation of EWS, with an effect size of d = 0.82 (95% CI [0.76, 0.88]). Digitally based early warning systems demonstrated a significantly higher level of effectiveness (OR = 2.34, 95% CI [1.98, 2.70]) than conventional systems, which are more manual and reactive. Moderator analysis indicated that age (β = -0.31, p < .01) and the duration of exposure to conflict (β = 0.44, p < .001) play important roles in moderating the relationship between EWS interventions and various mental health indicators. These findings expand upon the conclusions of Fu et al. (2020) and Salesi (2023), which previously explored psychosocial interventions in conflict zones, by adding a new dimension—examining digital technology and predictive algorithms within EWS frameworks. The study explicitly demonstrates that integrating machine learning models into EWS can enhance the predictive accuracy of potential mental health crises to 84.6%, representing a novel contribution that has not been comprehensively documented in prior academic literature

Abstract

The application of food hygiene and sanitation principles is an important aspect in ensuring the quality of nutritional services in hospitals. Low compliance of kitchen staff in maintaining hygiene is often caused by a lack of supervision, motivation, and limited supporting facilities. This study aims to determine the effect of education on compliance with the application of food hygiene and sanitation and its contributing factors in the Nutrition Installation of Hospital X through an internship activity conducted in July–October 2025. The research method used a quasi-experimental model with a one-group pretest-posttest and a mixed methods approach. The research subjects were seven kitchen staff, with two of them being interviewed in depth via voice recording. Data collection was carried out through initial observations, compliance checklists, and recorded interviews at the pretest and posttest stages. Educational interventions were carried out through counseling, routine briefings, and mentoring in the six-step handwashing practice according to WHO guidelines. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive quantitative and thematic qualitative methods. The results showed an increase in staff compliance after being given education, seen from changes in behavior in washing hands properly, using personal protective equipment, and maintaining cleanliness of the work area. Based on pretest interview results, low compliance was caused by a lack of supervision due to the lack of accreditation, infrequent monitoring, the misperception that visibly clean hands were safe enough, and limited water supply due to the shared drain with the hospital laundry. Following the educational intervention, posttest results showed improved compliance compared to baseline.
