Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the pedagogical and professional competence of pre-service teachers through the dissemination and book review of Introduction to Microteaching by Uswatun Khasanah (Revised Edition, Tahta Media, 2024). The program was carried out using a participatory approach through three main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage included coordination among the organizing team, scheduling, and the development of evaluation instruments; the implementation stage involved material presentations, interactive discussions, and reflective microteaching practices; while the evaluation stage focused on assessing improvements in participants’ understanding and teaching skills. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ comprehension of microteaching concepts, lesson design abilities, and self-confidence in classroom teaching practice. Furthermore, the activity fostered a culture of collaboration, strengthened pedagogical literacy, and broadened the participants’ understanding of reflective teaching as an essential component of professional development. In conclusion, this dissemination and book review activity effectively contributed to strengthening the professional competence of pre-service teachers and served as a model of community service integrating academic literacy with capacity building in higher education.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase women's legal understanding and social awareness of domestic violence (KDRT) and modern social challenges such as online loans and drug abuse. The targets of the activity were PKK mothers in Ngringo Village, Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency, who play an important role in maintaining family resilience and being the first protector for children. The implementation method used a participatory approach through legal socialisation, interactive discussions, and questions and answers with academic speakers and legal practitioners. Data was collected descriptively qualitatively through observation, documentation, and participants' responses during the activity. Results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the types of domestic violence (physical, psychological, economic), reporting procedures and legal protection, as well as awareness of the dangers of illegal online loans. The discussion also revealed various real-life cases relevant to people's lives, such as economic neglect, spousal drug abuse, and marital property conflicts. Participants showed great enthusiasm and began to understand the role of the law in protecting family rights. This activity contributed to the strengthening of legal literacy, the courage to report, and the development of a more just and law-aware society. In conclusion, community-based legal socialisation is effective in encouraging social transformation towards families that are harmonious, safe, and protected from violence.

Abstract

The number of traffic accidents has continued to increase from year to year, which is certainly very concerning. Human error remains the main cause of traffic accidents, while traffic awareness should be the responsibility of all members of society. Changing the mindset regarding the lack of traffic awareness is not an easy task; it requires persistence, seriousness, and continuity. The Community Service Team of FEB Undaris strives to contribute to building traffic awareness among FEB Undaris students through a Safety Riding and Smart Driving socialization program, by presenting certified experts in smart and defensive driving training. This community service activity was carried out through the presentation of Safety Riding and Smart Driving materials and class-based discussions using a qualitative approach with the on-class method, targeting students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Undaris, in Semarang Regency. The program was held at the HM Mansur Auditorium, Undaris, Semarang Regency.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia’s ageing population demands proactive strategies to preserve older adults’ quality of life, particularly in maintaining occupational independence, which often declines due to physical limitations, social isolation, and inadequate access to community-based rehabilitation. This community service aimed to enhance the understanding and participation of older adults in occupational independence through a culturally grounded, meaningful activity program in Kersan Brintikan Hamlet, Tirtomartani Village, Kalasan Subdistrict, Sleman Regency. Methods: A pre–post-test counselling design was employed with 52 participants (46 older adults and 6 elderly health cadres). The intervention included health screening, morning walking, anti-hypertension exercise, occupational therapy services, and interactive health education using visual media. A structured questionnaire comprising 10 closed-ended items was administered before and after the session to assess changes in knowledge. Results: Most participants were in the pre-elderly age group (64.3%), nearly gender-balanced (48.1% male, 51.9% female), and moderately to highly educated (78.7% senior high school or above). The mean understanding score significantly increased from 4.75 (pre-test) to 9.33 (post-test), while the standard deviation decreased from 1.064 to 0.857, indicating a homogeneous and substantial improvement in comprehension across participants. Conclusion: A participatory, contextually relevant program combining health promotion and meaningful occupational activities effectively enhances awareness of occupational independence among older adults. For sustainability, follow-up sessions, cadre capacity building, and inclusive outreach to older and male elders are recommended to support active ageing in the community.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge, awareness, and skills of food MSMEs owned by Aisyiyah residents in Sukoharjo Regency regarding the importance of food safety and business financial management. Through this outreach and training activity, it is hoped that MSMEs will be able to apply food safety principles in the production process and manage business finances in a more orderly, effective, and sustainable manner. This community service was carried out in the Sukoharjo Regency area, involving Aisyiyah residents as the main participants. Participants consisted of food MSMEs who are members of the Aisyiyah organization in Sukoharjo Regency. The methods used in this community service included lectures, discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions related to food safety and MSME financial management. This activity also encouraged the emergence of collaborative initiatives among MSMEs to improve product quality and business sustainability. The obstacles faced in implementing this activity were that some MSMEs still had limited initial understanding of food safety standards and business financial records.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance stakeholders’ understanding, commitment, and institutional synergy through the dissemination of the Vision and Mission of the Master Program in Islamic Education (MPAI). The identified problem was the limited internalization of VMTS (Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies) in academic practices and the suboptimal involvement of stakeholders in strengthening institutional governance. The program employed a participatory-dialogical approach through presentations, interactive discussions, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving 52 participants, including lecturers, students, administrative staff, alumni, and graduate users. The results showed an increase in stakeholders’ understanding from 23 to 45 participants. Furthermore, 43 internal stakeholders expressed implementation commitment, and 6 out of 8 external stakeholders demonstrated readiness for strategic collaboration. These findings indicate that vision and mission dissemination contributes to strengthening quality culture, enhancing academic accountability, and expanding institutional partnerships. The program has strategic implications for improving institutional competitiveness through participatory and collaborative governance.

Abstract

The dynamics of religious higher education institutions are closely related to the diversity of students’ social, cultural, and religious backgrounds. While diversity can serve as an integrative strength, it may also lead to tension if not properly managed. This community engagement program aimed to strengthen harmony in diversity through a participatory and contextual multicultural education training. The method consisted of a preparation stage through needs assessment, implementation of training activities in the form of interactive seminars, group workshops, cross-perspective dialogue simulations, and guided reflection, followed by evaluation using pre-tests, post-tests, and participatory observation. The results indicated an increase in participants’ understanding of multicultural education concepts, improved attitudes of tolerance and openness, and enhanced intercultural communication skills. Furthermore, the establishment of a student community concerned with diversity served as an indicator of program sustainability. Therefore, multicultural education training proved effective in strengthening harmony within religious higher education institutions and has the potential to be replicated in similar contexts.

Abstract

This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aimed to strengthen students’ pedagogical competence and digital literacy through participatory training and practice-based mentoring in developing innovative textbooks and learning media. The program was conducted online on December 9, 2024, involving university students as the main participants. The implementation method consisted of four stages: preparation, core training, practice and mentoring, and evaluation and reflection. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of systematic instructional design, their ability to develop structured digital textbooks, and their skills in creating interactive technology-based learning media. The participatory and practice-based approach proved effective in integrating pedagogical competence and digital literacy simultaneously. In addition to producing draft digital textbooks and innovative learning media, the program fostered reflective, collaborative, and adaptive mindsets among students as prospective 21st-century educators. Therefore, this training model can be recommended as an effective strategy for strengthening professional competencies of university students in teacher education programs.

Abstract

This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to strengthen social harmony through participatory and collaborative mentoring in developing an Islamic Education (PAI) curriculum that is responsive to diversity. The program was initiated based on the limited integration of religious moderation, tolerance (tasamuh), and appreciation of pluralism within the existing PAI curriculum structure in educational institutions. The method employed a participatory and gacor slot collaborative mentoring approach implemented through five stages: needs assessment, conceptual reinforcement workshop, curriculum development mentoring, limited implementation trial, and evaluation and reflection. The results demonstrate significant reconstruction of the PAI curriculum, particularly in the reformulation of learning outcomes, enrichment of contextual and inclusive materials, application of dialogical and participatory learning strategies, and development of value-based attitude assessment instruments. In addition to producing a more inclusive and context-sensitive curriculum document, the program enhanced teachers’ professional capacity to develop and refine curricula in a reflective and sustainable manner. The implementation of the revised curriculum showed increased student engagement and the creation of a more dialogical and harmonious classroom atmosphere. Therefore, mentoring in developing a diversity-responsive PAI curriculum can serve as an effective gacor slot strategy for strengthening social harmony in educational settings and reinforcing the transformative role of religious education in fostering inclusive and civic-minded character development.

Abstract

The use of smartphones has become a daily necessity for people in today's technological era. The numerous features on smartphones support the work of many people. It is undeniable that smartphone use has also become a part of the lives of teenagers and even children. With features that present educational content such as letter recognition, reading skills, as well as entertainment and games, children are often exposed to smartphones. In fact, children are still in their developmental stage. Excessive smartphone use can interfere with children's physical, motor, cognitive, social, and emotional development. The negative impacts of smartphones need to be understood by children from an early age as a preventive measure. The activities in this report were carried out by providing education about the dangers of smartphone use for children. The method used was socialization through video screenings and material explanations. Evaluation was conducted after the material presentation was completed. From the evaluation results, it was found that all the children participants in Gesing, Randu Pitu Village, understood and were aware of the dangers of excessive smartphone use.
