Abstract

Study This aiming For increase results Study student eye lesson Catholic Religious Education and Character​ through the Problem Based Learning model . Research action class This implemented as many as 2 cycles with four stages namely : planning, implementation, observation, reflection. Subject study This is student Class XI of State Vocational School 1 Lahomi as many as 6 students. Research This use technique analysis descriptive qualitative . Indicator action study This is a learning system finished namely achievement KKM value ≥75. Success Study measured if every student has reach value ≥75 then it is said succeed finished And in a way classical if as many as 80% of students has reach value ≥75 then it is said finished in a way classical. Problems in study This is lack of activity student For Study especially on moment do questions practice , difficulty student understand material the lesson in progress discussed , students not enough brave disclose opinion And Not yet capable think critical. For minimize problem said, researchers carry out study action class with objective For know improvement results Study student on eye lesson Catholic Religious Education and Character​ with material main Properties Church on class XI phase F SMK 1 Lahomi Regency West Nias Year 2024/2025 lessons through problem based learning model . Based on test results learning gained​ on end cycle I with average results Study student of 16.67 with percentage completeness which is 33.34%. Meanwhile test results Study on cycle II experienced significant improvement​ with average results obtained Study of 98.33 with percentage completeness namely 98.33% with category proficient . With thus, then can concluded that improvement results Study student with attitude critical material properties Church through the problem based learning (PBL) model student class XI phase F SMK 1 Lahomi regency West Nias Year 2024/2025 learning results change Study students who can proven with achievement Criteria Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) that has been achieved set .

Abstract

This study aims to examine the improvement of cognitive and affective learning outcomes in the creative dimension through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model among students at Santa Veronika Elementary School in Pekanbaru. The research is based on the issue of students' diverse religious backgrounds, which makes it difficult for them to understand the context and relevance of the Ten Commandments in everyday life. Additionally, the monotonous teaching methods contribute to low interest and poor learning outcomes. There is also a need to enhance students' social skills and piety towards God within the context of Catholic Religious Education (PAK) and character development. This research is a classroom action research consisting of four steps: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection in each cycle. The study was conducted over two cycles at Santa Veronika Elementary School in Pekanbaru, with fourth-grade students learning about the Ten Commandments as a guide for life. The study took place in September 2024. Data collection techniques included learning outcome tests and affective observation rubrics that assess the dimensions of faith, piety towards God, noble character, and teamwork. The data analysis was conducted using quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of the first cycle showed an improvement in students' learning outcomes and involvement, but the target was not fully achieved. In the second cycle, there was a significant increase in both learning outcomes and students' affective engagement. The study demonstrated a 30% increase in learning outcomes and student participation in PAK lessons. This research is expected to provide solutions to the low learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education, particularly in the subject of the Ten Commandments for fourth-grade students at Santa Veronika Elementary School in Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve the learning outcomes of Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Siding in the 2024/2025 academic year in the subject of Catholic Religious Education and Character through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with digital comic media. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted over two cycles. Each cycle consisted of several stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The first and second cycles covered the topics of the Passion, death, and Resurrection of Jesus. The subjects of this study were 17 Catholic students in Grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Siding for the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests and observations, with supporting techniques including documentation. The results showed that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with digital comic media could improve students' critical reasoning skills, as evidenced by the comparison between the first and second cycles. Based on observational data, the average critical reasoning ability of students in the first cycle was 76, which increased to 83 in the second cycle, with an average improvement of 8.64%. This indicates that the Problem Based Learning method with digital comic media can enhance critical reasoning skills in the subject of the Consequences of Jesus' Proclamation for Phase D, Grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Siding.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education (PAK) for 4th-grade students at SDN Kestalan Surakarta using a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The research was conducted in two cycles involving Phase B students. The results indicated a significant improvement in both cognitive learning outcomes and collaborative attitudes. In the first cycle, 33% of students achieved a "proficient" level, which increased to 83% in the second cycle. Additionally, the aspect of collaboration increased from an average of 55% in the first cycle to 84% in the second. These findings suggest that implementing the PBL model not only enhances students' understanding of PAK material but also fosters stronger collaborative skills. Thus, the PBL model can serve as an effective alternative to improve both learning outcomes and character development among students.

Abstract

The learning method applied in the 6th grade at SD Katolik Santa Maria 1 Malang is still lacking in variety, resulting in a low level of critical thinking among students and the failure to meet the target outcomes in the proficient and skilled categories. This study aims to improve the critical thinking character dimension and achieve target outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method supported by E-LKPD. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles with the material "God's Work through the Prophet Elijah," focusing on the sub-topics of Elijah's obedience, God's miracles through Elijah, modern-day idolatry, and the application of Elijah's messages. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 28 students in the 6th grade, Phase C, at SD Katolik Santa Maria 1 Malang. The research indicators included asking questions, answering questions, comparing various sources of information, increasing personal knowledge, seeking information independently, gathering information from various sources, clarifying information from different sources, comparing information from different sources, selecting information from various sources, and clarifying information with adult guidance. The research results showed that the PBL method was able to enhance the critical thinking dimension of the Pancasila Student Profile (P3) character. The critical thinking dimension's average score increased from 69% to 89%. The PBL method also improved student’s achievement in the material on "God's Work through the Prophet Elijah" in the 6th grade, Phase C, at SD Katolik Santa Maria 1 Malang, showing an increase from 29% proficient, 21% skilled, 43% competent, and 7% developing to 75% proficient, 25% skilled, and 0% in the competent and developing categories. Overall, focusing on the critical thinking dimension through the PBL method with the support of E-LKPD proved to be effective in improving both critical reasoning and academic performance in Catholic Religious Education in the 6th grade at SD Katolik Santa Maria 1 Malang. It is recommended to focus on one dimension by selecting an engaging and activating learning method.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education for 5th-grade students at SD Santo Yoseph 1 Medan through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model supported by the interactive media Wordwall Game. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, with each cycle comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out through learning outcome tests, observation, and documentation. The results indicate an improvement in student learning outcomes from Cycle 1 to Cycle 2. In Cycle 1, the average student score was 81.5, while in Cycle 2, it increased to 91. The application of the PBL model with the Wordwall Game media proved to be effective in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. This improvement was driven by a more engaging and interactive learning process, as well as the students' ability to think critically and solve problems. Therefore, the PBL model with the support of Wordwall Game can be widely implemented to improve learning quality.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of cognitive and affective learning outcomes in the dimensions of faith and devotion to God Almighty and Mutual Cooperation through the PBL model in students at SD RK ST MARIA PAKKAT. This type of research is classroom action research with research steps, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection in each cycle. This study consists of two cycles. The place of research at SD RK ST MARIA PAKKAT. in grade IV students with the material I AM A UNIQUE PERSON. The time of the study was carried out in September 2024. The data collection technique used the Learning Outcome test and affective observation rubric. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive techniques. From the results of the study, there was an increase in cognitive learning outcomes by 20% in the Proficient criteria and 5% in the Proficient criteria. Affective Learning Outcomes using the PBL learning model have been proven to improve the affective learning outcomes of students at SD RK ST MARIA PAKKAT on the material I AM A UNIQUE PERSON. The results of the improvement can be seen from the number of students in cycle I, 75% of whom entered the Proficient criteria and in cycle II there was a significant change, namely 92% entered the Proficient criteria.

Abstract

Study aims to examine the enhancement of student motivation and affective aspects related to collaboration and critical thinking through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model at UPT SPF SDN 101864 GUNUNG RINTIH. The research is grounded in issues such as low motivation, limited student engagement due to large class sizes, and the need to improve social skills within the context of Catholic Religious Education (PAK) and Character Education. This research employs a classroom action research design, involving the steps of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection in each cycle. The study consists of two cycles conducted with third-grade students at UPT SPF SDN 101864 GUNUNG RINTIH focusing on PAK content. The research is carried out in September 2024. Data collection techniques include observation and rubrics for assessing student motivation and affective dimensions of collaboration and critical thinking. Data analysis utilizes descriptive qualitative techniques. Results from the first cycle indicates an improvement in student motivation and engagement, though the targets were not fully met. In the second cycle, there was a significant increase in both student motivation and affective dimensions. The research demonstrated a 35% increase in student motivation and engagement in PAK learning, suggesting that the PBL approach fosters a more active and collaborative learning environment. This study is expected to contribute to providing holistic and meaningful education for students, aligning with the objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum and the values outlined in the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in shaping students' character and competencies, especially in the era of globalization which requires critical and creative thinking skills. At Cinta Rakyat 1 Junior High School, Pematangsiantar City, especially class IX-A, student learning outcomes in several subjects still need to be improved. Initial observations show that many students have difficulty understanding abstract concepts conveyed verbally without the support of visual media, as well as a decrease in learning motivation due to monotonous conventional teaching methods. The use of visual media in the form of videos and images is expected to help students understand complex concepts more easily and improve memory, thereby improving learning evaluation results and increasing active student involvement. This research focuses on improving student learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education and Character Education subjects in class IX-A by using visual media as a tool in the learning process. The research subjects were all 32 students in class IX-A. Improved learning outcomes are measured through formative assessments in the form of written tests and observations of student activity and involvement during learning. The research problem formulation includes the effectiveness of using visual media in improving learning outcomes, motivation, student involvement, and understanding of abstract concepts. The research results are expected to make a significant contribution in improving the quality of learning through a visual approach that is relevant to student needs.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' learning outcomes in the subject of Catholic Religious Education (PAK) on the topic of "The Role of Family in My Development" for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Matan Hilir Utara by using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The PBL model is implemented to enhance student engagement in the learning process by introducing real-life problems relevant to students' daily lives, particularly concerning the family's role in personal and moral development. The results of the study indicate that the application of the PBL model can improve students' understanding, critical thinking skills, and learning motivation. This is demonstrated by the increase in students' learning outcomes and their active participation in the learning process. PBL is effective as an innovative learning method that is relevant to students' social and emotional contexts, especially in understanding the role of the family.
