Abstract

This research was conducted at SMAS Karya Sedar Biru-Biru in Class X with the subjects of this study were 10 students. Based on the analysis of data on the initial reflection which still showed that the learning outcomes of students were still lacking, the research was conducted by implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in learning Unique Personal Humans to improve student learning outcomes. 1) The formulation of the problem in this study is: How to improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education on the material "Unique Personal Humans" through the Problem Based Learning model for class X students of SMAS Karya Sedar Biru-Biru Academic Year 2024/2025 2) How much is the increase in student learning outcomes after implementing the Problem Based Learning model for class X students of SMAS Karya Sedar Biru-Biru Academic Year 2024/2025? The purpose of this study was to determine the Improvement in Learning Outcomes of Unique Personal Humans by implementing the Problem Based Learning model for class X students of SMAS Karya Sedar Biru-Biru. Data collection techniques were observation and testing. The data analysis technique used was qualitative descriptive technique. According to the results of the research that has been conducted, the following conclusions were obtained: Learning activities using the Problem Based Learning model can improve student learning outcomes on the Unique Human Personality material from cycle I by 71% to 90% in cycle II. The increase that occurred from cycle I to cycle II was 19%

Abstract

Catholic Religious Education (PAK) is one of the subjects taught in schools. Like every subject, Catholic Religious Education has its objectives. The aim is to build the competence of students as individuals of faith, to flourish and develop children into Christian individuals grounded in a relationship with Jesus Christ. This Catholic Religious Education subject should provide students with opportunities to be active as designed in the Independent Curriculum, which gives flexibility for educational units and teachers to develop their potential and freedom for students to learn according to their abilities and development. However, theoretical learning in Religious Education for class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Seluas still often uses conventional learning methods. As a result, the learning outcomes of the subject have not yet reached the determined mastery target, and students' attitudes in learning are not apparent. Therefore, this study aims to (1) understand the application of the inquiry learning method, (2) improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education, and (3) enhance the religious attitude of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Seluas using the Problem Based Learning method. PBL model also increases active participation and critical thinking skills of students in understanding and applying the concept of parables in the context of daily life.

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes through the application of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in Catholic Religious Education, especially in the material "The Church as a Sign and Means of Salvation". Using a classroom action research approach, this study was conducted in two cycles with 18 grade VIII students at SMP NEGERI 1 PABULUAN during the 2024/2025 school year. Data is collected through observation, tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of PBL increased student engagement, with 70% of students actively participating in discussions and 65% showing improved critical thinking skills. The average test score increased from 65 in the initial condition to 72.5 in the first cycle, with 65% of students achieving the minimum completeness criteria. Character development in terms of Caring, Confident, and Professional (P3) also shows a positive trend. Although not all success indicators were achieved in the first cycle, significant improvements were observed in several aspects. The study concluded that PBL has the potential to improve student engagement and critical thinking skills in Catholic Religious Education, with recommendations for further optimization in the second cycle.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in preparing qualified and competent workforce, and becomes a benchmark for a country's development. The quality of the teaching and learning process in schools is greatly influenced by students' learning motivation and teacher creativity. However, Catholic Religious Education learning at SDN 091450 Bah Tongguran often faces challenges, such as monotonous teaching methods, which cause a lack of student interest. This study aims to improve student activity and learning outcomes through the application of the Project Based Learning Model (PBL). This research method involves grade III students with a focus on increasing learning activities and self-understanding as developing individuals. The results of the study indicate that the application of the technology-assisted PBL model can improve motivation and learning outcomes, as reflected in the increase in average scores from cycle I to cycle II, as well as improvements in student character indicators. These findings confirm that the PBL method has the potential to improve the effectiveness of Catholic Religious Education learning, and it is recommended for teachers to use this method to create a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment.

Abstract

Learning is a process of implementing actions that involve interactions between teachers and students, along with reciprocal communication that occurs in the context of education to achieve learning goals. Manifested in government regulations, namely Government Regulation Number 57 of 2021 concerning National Education Standards which was amended by Government Regulation No. 4 of 2022, it is stated that process standards are minimum guidelines in implementing the education system in all regions subject to the laws of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. This is also reinforced by Permendikbud Ristek No. 16 of 2022 in Chapter I article 1 which discusses process standards. The article describes process standards referring to the minimum criteria of the learning process that apply to various paths, levels of education, and types with the aim of achieving graduate competency standards. The objectives of the study include (1) to determine how the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model improves student learning outcomes with the help of Canva on the material of being critical and responsible towards mass media in class X of SMA Negeri 2 Temanggung, (2) to determine the application of the use of Canva in exploring the learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 2 Temanggung on the material of being critical and responsible towards mass media. The type of research used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and tests. The data analysis techniques used consisted of data reduction by selecting raw data into information, data presentation, namely presenting data in the form of descriptions, graphs, tables and drawing conclusions by making conclusions from research results that refer to the formulation of the problem. The use of the Problem Based Learning model according to the syntax which includes student orientation to the problem, organizing students to learn, guiding individual and group investigations, developing and presenting results, analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process, is effective in helping to improve learning outcomes and critical reasoning of students on the material of being critical and responsible towards mass media.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes on the topic "I Have Abilities and My Abilities Are Limited" at SMP Negeri 3 Belimbing through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The focus of the research is on seventh-grade students, where some students showed low learning outcomes. The study was conducted in two cycles; in Cycle I, without PBL, the results were unsatisfactory. However, in Cycle II, the implementation of PBL showed significant improvements in scores and learning completeness, with results exceeding the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) of 75.

Abstract

The provision of high-quality education is significantly influenced by key factors, specifically educators and students. Competent educators are likely to cultivate quality individuals, adhering to the philosophy that "people can only share and give to others what they possess." In the teaching and learning process, one of the key elements that facilitates successful learning is the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, which significantly enhances student independence, interest, and motivation in their educational pursuits. According to observations conducted by researchers at SMP Negeri 02 Ketungau Hilir, particularly in class VII, it has been determined that in Catholic Religious Education, teachers predominantly employ teacher-centered learning methods and have yet to implement the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This approach has adversely impacted student learning outcomes, resulting in the failure to meet minimum completion criteria. Based on the findings from data analysis and discussions in this study, it can be concluded that the results regarding the enhancement of learning outcomes indicate a sustained improvement in Cycle II, where student performance rose by 82% from Cycle I to 100%. The average student score increased from 79.06 in Cycle I to 84.37 in Cycle II.

Abstract

Students' motivation and learning achievement are one of the indicators of the success or failure of the implementation of the learning process in schools. To get maximum motivation and learning achievement of students, various efforts are made such as improving the curriculum which gives rise to various new learning models in the learning process such as Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning models, Inquri, Project Based Learning and so on. This study aims to determine the influence of the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model on increasing student motivation and learning achievement. This study uses a quantitative approach. The subject of this study is 12 students in grade VII of SMP Negeri 4 Ulunoyo who are Catholic. This research was carried out at SMP Negeri 4 Ulunoyo, Ulunoyo District, South Nias Regency, North Sumatra Province. The implementation of this research was carried out in two cycles with different learning materials. The results of this study show that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model in the learning process of Catholic Religious Education subjects both in the implementation of cycle I and cycle II can increase the motivation and learning achievement of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Ulunoyo with the percentage in each cycle being cycle I of 66.65% and cycle II of 90, 62%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase in learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education subjects for class VII students at SMP N 3 Percut Sei Tuan. This research uses a classroom research method which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The results of the research for two cycles showed a significant increase where in the first cycle the average score obtained by students when applying the PBL model was 74 and in the second cycle it was 85. This means that if the PBL learning model is applied well and consistently it will improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of grade VII students of Junior High School (SMP) Negeri 1 Pakkat in the subject of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The type of research is classroom action research which is carried out in two cycle stages. Each cycle consists of several activities, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques use two techniques, namely the main and supporting techniques. The main technique uses the observation method and written tests in the form of summative assessments, while the supporting techniques are in the form of questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained are analyzed descriptively. The results of the study show several things as follows: (a) the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in learning the material my abilities are developing. (b) the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in learning the material my abilities are developing and the limitations I am grateful for can improve the learning outcomes of grade VII-5 students, this is indicated by an increase in the results of observations in cycle I with an average score of 77 to 85 in cycle II, and cognitive learning outcomes increased from an average score of 79 to 87 in cycle II. which is 81 in cycle I increased to 89 in cycle II. (c) Student learning outcomes after the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model reached the KKTP as expected with proficient and competent, but the average learning outcomes showed the proficient category. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education of class VII-5 students of SMP Negeri 1 Pakkat.
