Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem, namely the low learning outcomes of students in Catholic Religion subjects regarding the subject of women and men being called to develop. The low learning outcomes of students are caused by various factors, including teachers still using domination methods in the learning process, causing the learning process to become passive and boring, also causes low student learning outcomes. In connection with the problems above, through the Problem Based Learning method, it is hoped that the right way to improve the quality of Catholic Religion learning at SDN 101791 Deli Serdang is to improve student learning outcomes with the help of Reward media. It is hoped that it can improve student learning outcomes regarding the material Women and Men are Called to Develop. The method used in this research is classroom action research (PTK), using the classroom action research model from Kemmis & McTaggart which consists of four stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. These four stages were carried out in two research cycles where each cycle focused on material about Women and Men Called to Develop using the PBL method. This research was carried out at SDN 101791 Deli Serdang with research subjects being class V students. The aim of this research is to find out whether the use of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Reward media can increase the creativity of Phase C students in class V on the material Women and Men Are Called to Develop. And to find out how the use of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Reward media can improve student learning outcomes. The results of the research in Chapter IV which has been presented in two cycles, and which have been analyzed, can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model can increase the creativity of Phase C students with the help of Reward Material: Women and Men Are Called to Develop, with an average student score of 77.75 in cycle 1 and cycle 2 there was an increase in the student average to 90.37, thus the student's independent learning results increased by 25% from the observation results of Cycle 1 and cycle 2, so reward media can improve student learning outcomes. The material for women and men is called to develop.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase in cognitive and affective learning outcomes in the dimensions of personal and creative morals through the PBL model for students at Jagalan State Elementary School, Surakarta. This type of research is classroom action research with research steps namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection in each cycle. This research consists of two cycles. The research location was at Jagalan Surakarta State Elementary School for class IV students with material on the Ten Commandments of God as a Guide to Life. The research was carried out in September 2024. Data collection techniques used learning outcomes tests and affective observation rubrics. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive techniques. From the research results, there was an increase in cognitive learning outcomes of 27.5% in the Proficient criteria and 12.5% ​​in the Capable criteria. Affective learning outcomes using the PBL learning model have been proven to improve the affective learning outcomes of students at Jagalan Surakarta State Elementary School on the Ten Commandments of Allah as a Guide to Life. The results of the increase can be seen from the number of students in cycle I who were 100% in the Eligible criteria and in cycle II there was a significant change, namely 67.5% were in the proficient criteria and 37.5% were in the proficient criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to improve learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education (PAK) through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by Student Worksheets (LKPD) for Grade VI students in Phase C at SDN 101905 Pasar Melintang. The PBL model was chosen because it encourages students to think critically, creatively, and collaborate in solving problems relevant to daily life. LKPD was used as a supporting tool to help students understand the material and strengthen their active engagement in the learning process. This study employed a classroom action research method (PTK) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes after the application of the PBL model supported by LKPD. In the second cycle, the number of students achieving mastery scores increased compared to the first cycle. The implementation of PBL supported by LKPD proved effective in improving PAK learning outcomes for Grade VI students, while also enchancing their critical and collaborative thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education (PAKAT) through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Phase B of Grade IV at SD Negeri Karangasem 2 Surakarta. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The results show a significant improvement in both cognitive and affective learning outcomes of students. The average cognitive score increased from 86 in the first cycle to 93 in the second cycle, with a 17% improvement. Meanwhile, the affective learning outcomes in the dimension of cooperation also showed an increase from 63% in the first cycle to 74% in the second cycle, with an 11% improvement. In conclusion, the implementation of the PBL model can enhance both cognitive and affective learning outcomes of students in PAKAT subjects at SD Negeri Karangasem 2 Surakarta.

Abstract

Education for human life is an absolute necessity that must be fulfilled throughout life. Without education, it is completely impossible for a group of people to live and develop in line with their aspirations (ideals) to progress, prosper, and be happy according to the concept of their outlook on life. According to the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003 (2003, p. 1) states: Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential, personality, intelligence, noble character, and skills needed by themselves, society, nation and state. National Education functions to develop abilities and shape the character and civilization of a dignified nation in order to educate the life of the nation, aiming to develop the potential of students to become Marusia who believes in and fears God Almighty, has noble character, is healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent, and becomes a democratic and responsible citizen (National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003). The independent curriculum emphasizes the profile of Pancasila students. In this class action research, the researcher focuses on the dimension of independence which is based on the importance of character formation and a strong mental attitude in the younger generation, especially in facing complex global challenges. The students who are accepted to attend SMA Negeri 1 Sirombu are students who are accepted into majors that do not match their initial interests. Students with this kind of condition tend to feel unmotivated to learn. Based on the conditions of the above problems, teachers can provide a learning experience by designing the learning process. One of the learning models that can be applied is Problem Based Learning (PBL) or problem-based learning. The objectives of the research include (1) to find out how to use the Problem Based Learning model in increasing students' learning motivation on diversity material as the original reality of human life in grade XII of SMA Negeri 1 Sirombu, (2) to determine the increase in learning motivation of students in grade XII of SMA Negeri 1 Sirombu with the help of the Problem Based Learning modelon unique personal materials as equal men and women, (3) to find out the use of the Problem Based Learning model on diversity materials as the original reality of life, students in grade XII of SMA Negeri 1 Sirombu can apply the Pancasila student profile of the independence dimension. The type of research used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The data collection technique in this study uses observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used consist of data reduction by selecting raw data into information, data presentation, namely presenting data in the form of descriptions, graphs, tables and drawing conclusions by making conclusions from the results of the research that refer to the formulation of the problem. The use of the Problem Based Learning model according to the syntax which includes orientation of students to problems, organizing students to learn, guiding individual and group investigations, developing and presenting results, analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process, effective in helping to increase learning motivation and students' independence in diversity material as the inherent reality of human life in grade XII of SMA Negeri 1 Sirombu.

Abstract

Education is one of the basic needs required by every human being and an obligation that must be obtained by every citizen. The development of human life from time to time is certain to be more complex, especially in the development of science and technology. This requires humans to always be able to compete in keeping up with developments and be able to survive by being able to solve all the problems they face. Therefore, a student's ability to think critically is an important and primary thing. Critical thinking skills will be very beneficial for students because they will understand a problem in detail, so it is expected that students will find it easier to solve the problem. For this reason, learning that emphasizes critical thinking skills must be implemented in schools, especially at the junior high school level, which is the middle level of education and is a stepping stone to a wider social interaction. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the Problem-Based Learning model in improving critical thinking attitudes in Catholic Religious Education and Ethics learning for seventh-grade students with the theme "I Have Abilities and Limitations" at SMP Negeri 1 Temanggung. The type of research used is quantitative. This method is called the traditional method because it has been used for quite some time so it has become a tradition as a method for research. Quantitative research is research in which the data is presented in the form of numbers and uses statistical analysis, usually aimed at showing the relationship between variables, testing theories, and finding generalizations that have predictive value. The researcher uses a quantitative method because it is necessary to measure data in research related to Fostering Critical Thinking Attitudes of Students Through the Problem-Based Learning Model in Catholic Religious Education and Ethics Subjects for Grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Temanggung. The type of research often used by a researcher in the field of education is experimental. This type of research is used to find out the influence of certain treatments on a variable under controlled conditions. This is applied to find out the effect if the problem-based learning (PBL) learning model treatment is given to the critical thinking abilities of seventh-grade students in Catholic Religious Education and Ethics.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of critical thinking skills of students during learning activities. This research was conducted using the Problem Based Learning model. The aim of this study is to improve the critical thinking skills of students with the Problem Based Learning model. The research method used is Classroom Action Research, the research process was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study were students of class X TAV SMK St. Louis Surabaya, with a total of 17 students. Data collection techniques in this study use observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques use comparative descriptive techniques by comparing data in cycle I and cycle II data. In conclusion, the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model in the learning process has been proven to improve students' critical thinking competencies and learning achievements. Based on the results of observations in learning activities in cycle 1 and cycle 2, students' critical thinking skills have increased in number of students who have reached the category developing as expected and highly developed as many as 3 people where in cycle 1 there were 14 people and in cycle 2 became 17 people. The results of the formative test conducted also showed an increase in the average class score of 16.47 where in the formative test in cycle 1 the average class score was 63.53 and in cycle 2 the average class score became 80.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students on the topic of "Jesus the Compassionate" in Grade VII at SMP Budi Mulia Pematangsiantar. To address this issue, the researcher applied the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with the aim of improving student learning outcomes. This research utilized a Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, conducted over two cycles. Each cycle consisted of two sessions and four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects included 30 students from Grade VII. Data collection techniques involved documentation, observation, and tests. The results of this study indicate that the students' learning outcomes on the topic of "Jesus the Compassionate" showed significant improvement. In Cycle I, Session 1, 50% of students reached the "Developing" (BB) criterion. In Cycle I, Session 2, the students' performance increased to 74% under the "Adequate" criterion. In Cycle II, Session 1, 85% of students achieved the "Competent" criterion, and in Cycle II, Session 2, the students' performance further improved to 89% under the "Proficient" criterion. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model effectively enhances the learning outcomes of students on the topic of "Jesus the Compassionate" in Grade VII at SMP Budi Mulia Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of 3rd grade elementary school students in Catholic Religious Education subjects, especially the material "I am a Unique Personality", through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method. This Classroom Action Research (PTK) was carried out in two cycles with 5 students as research subjects. The research results showed an increase in the percentage of learning completion from 40% in the pre-cycle to 80% in the second cycle, as well as an increase in student learning activities from 60% to 100%. The application of PBL has proven to be effective in improving students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking abilities and problem solving skills in a small class context.

Abstract

This class action research (PTK) was carried out on students in grade X-A SMA Negeri 1 Lahusa South Nias for the 2024/2025 academic year, due to problems, namely the low learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education and Ethics subjects due to low student learning motivation. Through the application of the KWL cooperative learning method, this problem is tried to be improved and improved The stages in this study are carried out as many as two cycles, the steps in each cycle consist of four stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation of action (acting), observation (observing) and reflection (reflecting). In the observation section, observers and researchers collect data by observing the activities of students and teachers in the learning process through the use of mass media in Catholic Religious Education and ethics lessons. The results of the study show that during the learning process in cycle I it is 56% while in cycle II it is 87%. The increase in the two cycles is 30%. The application of the KWL Cooperative learning method was 31% in the criteria in the initial condition of being quite good to 66% in the first cycle and to 87% in the l very good criterion in the second cycle. From cycles I and II, students' interest in learning has reached 16.85% and has reached the success criteria. Based on the results of the research mentioned above, the KWL cooperative method can be applied in the learning of Catholic Religious Education and Ethics at SMA Negeri 1 Lahusa because it is proven to increase the learning interest of students in class X-A, especially in the KWL cooperative discussion material.
