JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES is a journal that uses a double-blind peer review model that can be accessed online. The purpose of HUMAS JOURNAL is to publish a journal containing quality articles that will be able to contribute thoughts from a theoretical and empirical perspective in society and humanities at a regional, national, and global scale. The writings at JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES will significantly contribute to critical thinking in the area of society and humanities. The scope of the fields contained in HUMAS JOURNAL covers the following areas: social work, social welfare, social change, and social policy; humanism and human rights; corporate governance, and community studies; crosscultural and multiculturalism studies; economy, management, population and development studies; ethics, and intergroup relations; war, conflict, and international relations; local genius (local wisdom and local knowledge); popular culture; studies of inequality (class, race and gender studies); theology philosphy art literature and other related areas. Articles published on research results and literature review with acceptable research methodologies, qualitative studies, quantitative studies, or a combination of both, statistical analysis, case studies, field research, and historical studies. Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of Hybridity and Mimicry shown by the main characters in the analyzed novel. This research is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research are in the form of quotes, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs that reveal the contents of the story in the novel. The data source in this study is the novel Salah Asuhan by Abdoel Moeis published by PT. Balai Pustaka in 2006. The approach used is the study of Postcolonial Hybridity and Mimicry Homi K. Bhabha. The results of this study indicate that the first, the hybridity shown by the main character, in this case the Hanafi character in the novel Salah Asuhan, is the Hanafi character's attempt to mix Dutch identity into his Malay identity in the Minangkabau traditional environment with the aim of building a mindset of style progress. living in an environment of the Malay nation which he considered far behind from European civilization. Second, apart from the form of hybridity, there is a form of mimicry shown by the Hanafi character in Abdoel Moeis's novel Salah Asuhan in the form of imitation of attitudes, ways of dressing, customs and customs of Europeans, especially the Dutch into themselves who are actually Malay Natives who consider that the status of the nation is Europe is higher than the status of the Malay nation.

Abstract

This article discusses the analysis of religious tolerance and harmony in Majapahit Maha Vihara Tourism, a Buddhist place of worship located in Bejijong Village, Trowulan District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java. This research aims to examine the understanding of religious tolerance in the interaction of the community in the tourist area as well as the visitors. This research uses a qualitative approach. The techniques used in data collection are interviews and literature studies. This research produces: First, the attitude of tolerance carried out by the community around the tourist attractions and visitors to Maha Vihara Majapahit. Second, the positive contributions made by the community around the tourist area. This article provides insight into the important role of places of worship in strengthening attitudes of tolerance between religious communities and making a positive contribution in realizing a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the local wisdom values contained in the Situ Gede Tasikmalaya tourist attraction. The research method involves collecting data through documentation studies. Local wisdom values were identified and analyzed using descriptive analysis methods. The research results show that Situ Gede Tasikmalaya is a place rich in local wisdom values, including social, cultural and economic aspects. These values reflect the cultural heritage of the local community and contribute to the sustainability and identity of the tourist area. An in-depth analysis of local wisdom values in these tourist attractions can provide better insight into how tourism management and promotion can maintain and respect local wisdom, while improving the tourist experience. The implications of these findings can be used as a basis for developing strategies and policies that support the preservation of local wisdom values in tourism development in Situ Gede Tasikmalaya.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to describe the impact of religious tourism on the tomb of Sunan Muria on the social and economic life of the surrounding community and took the background in Colo Village, Dawe District, Kudus Regency. This study uses a form of qualitative exploratory research. The sample used is literature and previous research. While the technique of data collection is done by means of document analysis. To test the validity of the data the author uses the credibility of the method. Researchers used a qualitative analysis model and interactive analysis. Based on the results of this study, the existence of the Sunan Muria Tomb has an influence on the surrounding community, namely: changes in the social life of the community, including changing the status from unemployment to being unemployed, opening up business opportunities in the community, and also providing broad knowledge and insight for the community. While the impact in the economic field is certainly very large, namely an increase in financial income and also an increase in welfare for the economic life of the community.

Abstract

This article discusses the analysis of slang phonology in social media application "X", a social media application that is often used by some people to write and post tweets using slang varieties. This research aims (1) to find out the variety of slang used by the community in the "X" application; (2) to find out the phonological process of slang that occurs in the "X" application; (3) to find out the factors that influence the use of slang. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques using observation and screenshots. This research has the result that many people use slang in posts on the X application. Phonological changes in slang found in the form of removal of vowels and consonants and changes in the sound of a phoneme. There are 2 factors that make people use slang, namely internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

The slang used by gen Z in the TikTok application is related to the development of communication technology which causes the development of the language used in society, both oral and written. One of the impacts of these developments is the emergence of language variations that are often referred to as slang. The language used in TikTok often comes from the songs in the videos uploaded on the platform and is used to communicate. The use of slang on TikTok has led to the emergence of various types of slang, which continue to change and develop over time. This study aims to analyze the semantics of the variety of slang used by gen z on the TikTok application with a qualitative approach. Qualitative methods are used to further explore the meaning, context, and language variations used in their content. qualitative methods where a problem formulation guides research to explore the social situation to be studied thoroughly, broadly and in depth. This research is strengthened by interviews with gen z who often use the Tiktok application, is there an influence on the variety of language used in communication.

Abstract

The phonetic study of the language of the arek surabaya culture is an in-depth study of phonetic characteristics in the language of the surabaya community, known as "the language of the arek surabaya culture." The study aimed at 1) learning phonetic studies in the language of the arek surabaya culture, and 2) knowing the vocabulary and cultural aspects of arek surabaya. This research method USES qualitative methods with data collecting through audio recordings of everyday conversations and interviews with a z generation from arek surabaya. Phonetic analysis includes search of consonants, vowels, intonation, and special accents that characterize the cultural language of arek surabaya. The conclusion of the study: 1 phonetic study of the arek surabaya cultural language where people can see how this phonetic study is derived from the vowels, consonants and intonation of the suroboyoan dialect. 2) the vocabulary and cultural aspects of arek surabaya were able to learn the pronunciation or pronunciation of the dialect of suroboyoan while communicating directly with the other person, as well as by listening to native surabaya speaking in her own language by speaking in the native suroboyoan language that became an outstanding and well-known aspect of the surabaya culture.

Abstract

This research aims to find out and understand the implementation of learning to make compost on the psychomotor development of young children. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method which is carried out by collecting data obtained using observation and interview techniques. Based on the research results, learning to make compost can provide benefits in holistic psychomotor development of young children so that children have knowledge and understanding from an early age through simple activities that can act and be responsible for their environment.

Abstract

Language has a function as a means of communication. To fulfill this function, language must be understood by both parties who will communicate. This research aims to find out whether the information in the Detik.com online news portal is credible and in accordance with writing rules, especially in writing prepositions. This research uses a qualitative approach, an approach that prioritizes an inductive mindset and is not bound by theory, but rather by facts that arise naturally in the field. The method used is descriptive analytical method, which is a research method used by researchers to describe an object that contains phenomena in order to answer a research problem. The research technique used in this research is observation, which is a research technique carried out by observing the events or events under study. The data source is obtained from the Detik.com online news portal published in November. The results of this study indicate that the writing of prepositions is in accordance with the writing rules so that the news on the Detik.com online news portal can be used as a credible and reliable source of information.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and know how Baduy community responds to tourists who visit their area. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative by focusing on the response of Baduy community towards tourists and the changes that occur in the Baduy tribe after the influx of tourists as the basis in this paper. Data collection technique in this research is through observation, interview, and documentation. The location of this research is in Baduy Tourism Village, Kanekes Village, Leuwidamar District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. The result of this research shows that the response of Baduy community to tourists is very good, they accept well the tourists who come to their village. Even if there are tourists who want to know and feel how to live in Baduy, they allow tourists to stay in their homes. With the presence of tourists, they also feel helped in their economy because many tourists buy their handicrafts and crops. After the influx of tourists to Baduy, slowly there is a change that occurs in the Baduy community. This change can be seen in the outer Baduy residents who have started to recognize smart phones, social media, and other changes.
