JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES is a journal that uses a double-blind peer review model that can be accessed online. The purpose of HUMAS JOURNAL is to publish a journal containing quality articles that will be able to contribute thoughts from a theoretical and empirical perspective in society and humanities at a regional, national, and global scale. The writings at JOURNAL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL STUDIES will significantly contribute to critical thinking in the area of society and humanities. The scope of the fields contained in HUMAS JOURNAL covers the following areas: social work, social welfare, social change, and social policy; humanism and human rights; corporate governance, and community studies; crosscultural and multiculturalism studies; economy, management, population and development studies; ethics, and intergroup relations; war, conflict, and international relations; local genius (local wisdom and local knowledge); popular culture; studies of inequality (class, race and gender studies); theology philosphy art literature and other related areas. Articles published on research results and literature review with acceptable research methodologies, qualitative studies, quantitative studies, or a combination of both, statistical analysis, case studies, field research, and historical studies. JISH received manuscripts from various related circles, such as relevant researchers, professors, students, policy-makers, scientists, and others.

Abstract

In the novel Hujan, Tere Liye uses various forms of morphology to form new words. The use of morphology makes the novel richer and more diverse. In addition, the use of morphology also helps Tere Liye convey his messages more effectively. The novel has interesting themes, which are about love, life struggles, and natural disasters. These themes are universal and can be accepted by everyone. Author Tere Liye is a well-known writer whose works are always bestsellers in the market. He has a beautiful and easy-to-understand language style. The language style of this novel has a beautiful and poetic language style. This language style makes the novel more interesting and easy to understand. The theme of love and life struggle raised in this novel also uses Tere Liye's poetic and meaningful language style. In addition, researchers also want to know how the love story of Lail and Rangga is hindered by differences in the future. Knowing the morphological analysis of word change and formation in Tere Liye's Rain Novel. Knowing the morphological analysis on word reduplication in the novel Rain by Tere Liye. Knowing the morphological analysis on word compounding in the novel Rain by Tere Liye. The research method used is the descriptive qualitative method through literature study. The theory used to analyze the data is Chaer's theory. To collect data, the method used is the listening method with a high note-taking technique, while to analyze the data the author uses the high method with the direct element dividing technique (BUL). Based on the results of the research, five forms of affixation were found in the novel Hujan by Tere Liye, namely (1) prefixes (ber-, me-, pe-, ter-, and di-), (2) suffixes, (-an, -kan, and -i), (3) infixes, (-em-) (4) confixes, (ke-an, pe-an, per-an, me-kan, per-kan, and member-i), and (5) clofixes. (ke-an, pean, per-an, ber-an, me-kan, per-kan, ber-kan, di-i, me-i, and per-i). In the morphological analysis of the novel "Rain" by Tere Liye, it can be concluded that; Morphology can bring word changes in the novel Rain by Tere Liye. Morphology can reduplicate words in the novel Rain by Tere Liye. Morphology can be analyzed through word compounding in Tere Liye's novel Rain. In addition, Tere Liye also uses changes in word forms through reduplication or repetition of words to provide emphasis or certain rhetorical effects. The use of reduplication also gives a strong emotional impression on the reader. Overall, the analysis of morphology in the novel "Rain" by Tere Liye shows that the use of morphological variations can enrich the language and give uniqueness to literary works.

Abstract

Indonesia has a variety of rich and unique cultures and a large number of ethnic groups. Outer Baduy is one of the tribes in Indonesia. Outer Baduy is generally more open to cultural influences from outside and has been influenced by modern culture. This is inseparable from the development of the times which causes some social changes that occur in the Baduy community. This research uses ethnographic method based on qualitative approach. This research was conducted to find out whether there was a change in the baduy luar where we know that the baduy tribe is very closed and still traditional, when conducting an analysis we know that there have been more modern changes in the baduy luar, such as in economic and social terms, even so their culture is still very thick.

Abstract

English is an international language that is taught at all levels of education. In Amir Hamzah University itself, English learning is needed to improve learning outcomes and student motivation. One of the learning methods to improve English proficiency for Amir Hamzah students is the time token method. This learning method is one of the methods that provides opportunities for students to be able to express their opinions in English actively. So that the negative effects of learning dependence can be avoided. The existence of the time token learning method encourages students to increase initiative and participation, avoiding the dominance of students who are good at speaking or who do not speak at all, helping students to be active in learning activities.

Abstract

Death anxiety is a feeling of discomfort and discomfort or fear caused by the perception of a real threat or imagining the threat of someone's existence The consequences that someone who experiences this disorder will receive are difficulty sleeping at night, usually only sleeping if it is dawn and anxiety when hearing the news of death from the closest person. In this study, researchers used a research method, namely this single subject experimental method is with CBT therapy in order to change negative thoughts into positive ones. The subject in this study amounted to 1 person who showed comprehensive anxiety symptoms, especially towards death. The subject's age is 60 years. Subjects were taken based on symptoms or symptoms obtained from observations and interviews. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews. The intervention carried out is cognitive behavior therapy to reduce anxiety about facing death. After the provision of therapy, the subject told in detail about the fears he experienced, because in recent years he had lost his closest person. The subject was made aware of changing irrational thoughts to rational ones. The client was also given progressive relaxation therapy to reduce his anxiety. After being given, the client claimed to be weak and sleepy. The client became more relaxed and could return to normal activities.

Abstract

Women's participation in the media industry is still limited with policy standards varying from media to media, often creating stereotypes to the detriment of women. Indonesia's media industry tends to maintain a traditional view that places women's role in mass media at a lower level and less prioritized. Despite being faced with challenges, obstacles, and double burdens, women journalists remain persistent in maintaining the existence of their profession. This study aims to explore the identity of women journalists in Surabaya City and their perspectives on the meaning of the journalist profession, especially in the media industry of Surabaya City. With qualitative methods and data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, this study applies phenomenological approaches and George Herbert Mead's Symbolic Interaction Theory. The results of the study highlight various motives that cause women in interpreting the journalist profession, including being inspired by idols, passion and basic abilities, love of adventure, professional flexibility, personal existence, and as a form of self-proof.

Abstract

The development of communication technology has created innovations in the form of applications that can be used in the property industry as a tool for organizational communication, information, project management and company documentation. These applications include the Asana application. One of the property companies that has implemented the Asana application is Chalidana Group. This research is entitled Audit of Organizational Communication of the Asana Application at the Chalidana Group. The purpose of this research is to audit the socialization process in using the Asana application, analyze communication barriers in using the Asana application, and evaluate the achievement of organizational communication through the Asana application at the Chalidana Group. This research uses a qualitative research method with a Communication Audit approach, and data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the Communication Audit research showed that the socialization process for using the Asana application was delivered face-to-face by the Project Manager through meetings and workshops held at the Chalidana Group office. The obstacles that researchers found were limited understanding of the development of information and communication technology and language barriers caused by the limited knowledge possessed by the project team. It is hoped that this research can contribute to further understanding of the use of the Asana application in the context of organizational communication, as well as provide useful insights for companies in optimizing the use of this application. The results of this research show that Asana provides significant benefits for the Chalidana Group for by improving better project management collaboration, tracking and monitoring work tasks, as well as effective communication between the management teams involved.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the phenomenon of predatory pricing in social commerce and its impact on conventional UMKMs in Surabaya. The data shows that the use of social media and online shopping platforms by the public is very high, but there are allegations of predatory pricing that threaten conventional UMKMs. This practice can result in a decrease in revenue, business losses, and even bankruptcy for UMKMs. Although the number of UMKMs using social commerce has increased, the utilization of technology by conventional UMKMs is still low. This gap highlights the importance of this research in understanding the meaning of predatory pricing in social commerce for conventional UMKMs. Proving this practice is difficult due to the lack of adequate data and information. Intense business competition can also lead to bias in interpreting the meaning of predatory pricing. Therefore, this research adopts a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to explore the meaning of predatory pricing in social commerce among conventional UMKMs in Surabaya. The study is expected to provide a clearer understanding of this phenomenon and contribute to creating a healthier business environment.

Abstract

DPRD members carry out their role for the community in accordance with their obligations to accommodate, follow up on all aspects of complaints in the community. Parliament in the region, in this case the DPRD, is a representative body of the people domiciled in the region. DPRD is a representative body of the people and is an element of government in the region that has the task of making local regulations and absorbing the aspirations of the people and accommodating the aspirations of the people who have elected them. The current political reality suggests that elected candidates (members of the City/Regency DPRD) must absorb aspirations by utilizing recess and working visits to the electoral districts. There is no reason for DPRD members not to absorb and channel aspirations, because the time, facilities and budget have been arranged in such a way. The utilization of aspiration funds in the village in Hative Besar has been utilized properly, but there is no transparency with each other regarding the utilization of aspiration funds.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify and obtain information about introduction of English vocabulary in early childhood in Pocenter, how processes in learning activities using flower card media. Data and information is collected through observations and interviews with teachers at the Pocenter. This study explains and gives an overview of the learning activities using the flower card media for the introduction of English vocabulary. The results of this study show that the learning activity of introducing English words to early childhood children using flower cards in its implementation still has many shortcomings and obstacles, but has been implemented optimally. The school also applies pre-learning habits to train the child's concentration to be more focused when learning begins later. Introduction to English vocabulary for children who are at Pocenter is essential because to go to the next level. The media flower card can also develop the child's fine motor aspects, art, creativity, and language.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of introducing Ponorogo culture on the formation of love for the country in early childhood, especially children aged 3-4 years. Culture is an important element in a nation's identity and has great potential to form love for one's country from an early age. This research uses observation and interview methods. The results of the research show that the introduction of Ponorogo culture has a positive impact on the formation of love for the country in young children at POCENTER (Ponorogo Early Education Center). Children are introduced to various aspects of Ponorogo culture. Reyog Ponorogo. This research recommends further efforts in developing early education programs that incorporate local cultural elements, such as Ponorogo culture, to help children develop love and loyalty towards their homeland from an early age. It is hoped that this can be an important contribution in building a generation that loves its homeland and has a strong cultural identity.
