Abstract

Current EFL pedagogy lies in the limited use of innovative techniques like gamification, which has the potential to significantly enhance students' narrative writing skills. This study investigates the effectiveness of gamification in improving EFL students' ability to write narrative texts, grounded in motivational and engagement theories. Employing a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design, data were collected from two groups of students: a control group using conventional methods and an experimental group utilizing gamification elements such as points, badges, and challenges. The findings reveal that students exposed to gamification demonstrated superior narrative writing skills compared to the control group. These results suggest that integrating gamification in EFL writing instruction can substantially boost student motivation and engagement, leading to improved narrative writing performance.

Abstract

This research explores the values of character education based on the five main values of strengthening character education that are applied in the classroom. The method used in this research is qualitative. The sample for this research was one of the English teachers at SMP NEGERI 1 Mojosari. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research show that teachers at SMP NEGERI 1 Mojosari have implemented 5 main values in strengthening character education, namely religious values, nationalism, integrity, independence, and mutual cooperation. These values have been implemented quite well in the teaching and learning process. Even though teachers at SMP NEGERI 1 Mojosari face obstacles, the school also continues to look for solutions to overcome these problems by strengthening teacher collaboration and fostering good relations between parents and SMP NEGERI 1 Mojosari.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that influence consumer purchasing decisions at Cafe Markas Ranjau Mojosari. In an era of intense business competition, especially in the culinary sector, understanding the factors that influence consumer decisions is crucial for business success. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method to collect data from cafe consumers. The results of the analysis show that product quality, service quality, company image and price have a significant influence on purchasing decisions. These findings provide important implications for the management of the Mine Headquarters Cafe in improving marketing and service strategies to attract more consumers and maintain loyal customers.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of Instagram and Facebook on the decision to purchase used clothing at the Kaji Lb modified spare parts shop, Kebonagung Village. The population in this study were all consumers of the Kaji Lb modification spare parts shop. The sampling technique in this research uses the Accidental Sampling technique. Accidental sampling is a technique for determining samples based on chance, so that researchers can take samples from anyone they meet without prior planning. So samples can be found from the period from June to July, there are approximately 100 samples. The data analysis method used in this research is multiple linear regression which is used to determine the influence between the independent variable and the dependent variable, namely between Instagram (X1) and Facebook (X2) on purchasing decisions (Y). By using the SPSS program version 29.0.0. The research results show that Instagram has a significant effect on purchasing decisions with a significance level of <0.001 (<0.05) and Facebook has a significant effect on choosing decisions with a significance level of <0.001 (<0.005).

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of promotion and service quality on The Pancasila Student Profile is a concept promoted by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture in order to shape student character in accordance with Pancasila values. This profile is expected to be a guide in the educational learning process to build a superior and integrated generation, by going through several stages that both the government and school policies have designed. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile through co-curricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Gedeg, the role of teachers and also what are the supporting and inhibiting factors of the Pancasila student profile. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, the data of which are obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of this co-curricular activity is an integral part of the Merdeka Curriculum, which focuses on developing student character in accordance with Pancasila values such as traditional dance, entrepreneurship, and video making, effective in internalizing Pancasila values in students and able to achieve the goal of having a Pancasila Student Profile as a whole. In the implementation of P5, the influence of the teacher's role is very important during the sustainability of P5, such as understanding, preparation, approach, and mentoring. The Pancasila Student Profile has the main supporting factors, namely adequate facilities and infrastructure and full support from the school and teachers. However, there are several inhibiting factors, such as limited resources and varying student participation. This implementation forms not only superior academics but also a young generation that is responsible, cultured and has a strong character in accordance with the values of Pancasila. Thus, co-curricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Gedeg have succeeded in strengthening the character of the nation through holistic and sustainable education.

Abstract

Digital development in this era is very rapid, social media has become an important tool in marketing strategies, including in the retail industry. This study aims to analyze the effect of social media on consumer buying interest at MaySnack Grocery Store, Gedeg, Batan Krajan, Mojokerto Regency, using quantitative methods with 127 respondents. The results showed that TikTok Shop has a positive and significant influence on consumer buying interest, with a regression coefficient of 0.658 and a t-test value of 7.223. In addition, Facebook Shop also has a significant effect with a regression coefficient of 0.163 and a t-test value of 4.641. This study also found that the two social media platforms, together, significantly influence consumer purchase intention with a calculated F value of 26,674. In conclusion, the use of TikTok Shop and Facebook Shop as promotional media is effective in increasing consumer buying interest, with TikTok Shop as the most dominant variable. These results provide insight for businesses to optimize their digital marketing strategies to reach a wider and more diverse target market

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of using infographics as a supporting media in improving the speaking skills of English language education students. This study was conducted using the Quantitative Method by distributing questionnaires to 30 English language education students from various semesters. The results of the study showed that the use of Infographic media has a positive effect on English speaking skills at Majapahit Islamic University with a Pearson correlation test value of 0.331. It is proven that infographics can improve English speaking skills. The results show that infographic media can be used to improve students' speaking skills in speaking English.

Abstract

This paper discusses the practice of Culturally Responsive Teaching in a "Poetry and Drama in Language Education" class in one of the universities in Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia, along with its effect on students' speaking skill in EFL setting. This was a qualitative study that used observations and interviews among students at a university in Mojokerto. This approach involves the use of CRT to make the activities of related poetry and drama materials relevant to the students' cultural background and everyday experiences. The application of CRT greatly enhanced the motivation and participation of students in class and their understanding of the poetry and drama materials. This improved students' critical and analytical thinking that was inductively created through discussions and activities most related to them ontologically. Additionally, students heightened their cultural awareness and appreciation of diverse perspectives, which contributed to the development of an inclusive learning environment. In this regard, application of CRT in learning English has had a positive impact on the students' speaking and collaboration skills and has set a strong base for the development of language skills within a meaningful context of use. The research provides the fact that CRT is a sound approach to making the desired improvements within students' learning outcomes and in their eventual educational applications.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of using performance evaluation methods and targets on employee productivity at PT Andika Mandiri Perkasa. Performance evaluation methods and target setting are two important components in human resource management that can affect the level of organizational productivity. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, where data is collected through questionnaires distributed to employees of PT Andika Mandiri Perkasa. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between performance evaluation methods and increased employee productivity. Evaluations that are conducted objectively and transparently are able to provide constructive feedback, so that employees can improve and increase their performance. In addition, setting clear and measurable targets also has a positive effect on employee productivity, because specific targets provide clear direction and motivate employees to achieve better results. Overall, this study concludes that the use of effective performance evaluation methods and realistic target setting can improve employee productivity at PT Andika Mandiri Perkasa. The implementation of this strategy is expected to be a reference for companies in developing more effective human resource management policies.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of multimodal text methods to enhance narrative writing skills of EFL students at SMP Terpadu Darul Dakwah. The research employs a pre-experimental design involving pre-tests, treatments, and post-tests to measure the impact of teaching narrative texts using folktales packaged in flashcards. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' writing abilities, through the increased average scores from pre-test to post-test. The study also incorporates responsive teaching with barcode flashcards to integrate technology into the learning process, making it more engaging and relevant for students. Multimodal texts, combining video, audio, and visual elements, can effectively enhance language skills and student engagement in writing narrative texts. The research provides valuable insights for educators seeking innovative methods to improve writing instruction and suggests that incorporating multimodal texts and folktales can significantly enhance EFL students' narrative writing skills.
