Abstract

The increase in household waste generation in rural areas is a serious challenge due to population growth and changes in consumption patterns. Bangunjiwo Village, Bantul Regency, as a semi-urban area, faces increasing waste pressure, while the management capacity based on the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle Waste Processing Site (TPS 3R) is not yet fully commensurate with the actual generation load. This study aims to analyze the generation and composition of household waste and evaluate the suitability of the TPS 3R capacity as a basis for improving the rural waste management system. The study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with an evaluative perspective based on capacity ratio analysis and service levels. Secondary data were obtained from village waste management reports and the Bantul Regency Environmental Agency for the 2018–2024 period. The analysis includes calculating per capita waste generation, waste composition, TPS 3R processing capacity, and identifying the gap between actual generation and system service capacity. The results show that the composition of waste is dominated by organic fractions (57%), followed by plastic (23%), paper (12%), and metal and glass (8%). A capacity evaluation indicates that the 3R Waste Management Sites (TPS 3R) have not been able to keep up with the total daily waste generation, resulting in service gaps and unoptimally processed residues. This study offers an integrated evaluative approach that links the characteristics of waste generation and composition with the operational capacity of the 3R TPS as a framework for assessing rural waste management systems. These findings provide a basis for data-driven planning for capacity improvement and optimization of sorting systems, and can be replicated in villages with similar characteristics to support more effective and sustainable waste management.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged MSMEs to start adopting online sales systems to improve the efficiency of transaction management. However, some MSMEs still carry out business processes manually without the support of an intergrated system. This study aims to design and test an e-commerce website prototype as an initial model for digitization in animal feed MSMEs. This study uses a software engineering approach with the Waterfall method System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The system was developed using PHP and MySQL and run on a localhost environment. Testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method to verify the suitability of the system functions with the requirements specifications. The results of the study show that all the main features, such as product management, shopping cart, checkout process, and transaction recording, work according to the design. This study produced a functionally feasible system design as the initial stage of e-commerce system implementation in animal feed MSMEs. Further testing in an online environment and user evaluation are needed to assess the effectiveness of the system empirically.   Keywords: e-commerce, MSMEs, digitalization, website

Abstract

Technological developments have changed the library landscape, from traditional libraries to smart libraries. Smart libraries are libraries that use information and communication technology to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and user experience. However, the library service system in Polman Bandung has not fully utilized information and communication technology, so the service process is less than optimal. The library service system in Polman Bandung still uses a manual system, making it prone to errors in recording circulation data. The application of the Internet of Things with RFID technology can be one solution to overcome the problem of a library service system that has not been fully digitized and automated. This technology has been used in various industrial sectors, one of which is in library services, from self-checkout to book locating, so that most library services are self-service based. This study aims to develop by designing an automated book borrowing and returning system (Automated Storage & Retrieval System) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of librarian services by digitizing services from manual to self-service that will become part of a smart library. The VDI 2206 methodology in this study can integrate the mechanical, electrical, and informatics designs needed for a self-service library service system. The results of the self-service system testing include a loan system with a success rate of 84% with an average time of 31.6 seconds per book, while the return system achieved a success rate of 88% with an average time of 47 seconds per book. This system has been proven to be able to speed up the loan process by up to 65% and returns by up to 22% compared to manual methods. These results indicate that the system is able to work stably and efficiently, and can help librarians in reducing workloads and improving the quality of library services through automation and digitalization of the book circulation process.

Abstract

The industry produces synthetic dye waste that has the potential to damage the environment, so that more environmentally friendly natural dye alternatives are needed. One of the plants that has the potential to be used as a source of natural dyes is the sicerek leaf (Clausena excavata Burm. F), because sicerek leaves contain flavonoid compounds that can produce color. This study aims to analyze the color names and color fastness to washing on Roberto Cavali's fabrics whose writings use sicerek leaf extract at various dyeing temperatures. The method used is the experimental method. Identification of color names was carried out by involving 18 panelists as respondents and supported by the use of the Colorblind Assistant application to assist in color determination. Meanwhile, color fastness to washing was tested using a gray scale and a staining scale according to SNI ISO standards. Data analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis and simple linear regression tests. The results of the study show (1) Differences in dyeing temperatures produce different color names, RGB values ??and hexadecimal codes at various dyeing temperatures. (2) The dyeing temperature does not have a significant effect on color fastness based on gray scale testing as proven by a simple linear regression test with a Sig. value. 0.351 > 0.05 which indicates that there is no difference or is not significant. Meanwhile, testing using a coloring scale at temperatures of 30?C, 60?C and 90?C shows a value of 4-5 with a good category for various types of multifiber including wool, acrylic, polyester, nylon, cotton and acetate. (3) The dyeing temperature of 90?C is the most optimal temperature in producing color and color fastness.

Abstract

The rapid growth of hotels in West Java, a province with the largest number of accommodations, has raised environmental concerns due to resource consumption, waste generation, and pollution. In addition, room occupancy remains unstable, and the adoption of green hotels is still low, highlighting the need for strategies to address these ongoing challenges. This study aims to examine the factors influencing domestic tourists’ intention to stay at green hotels in West Java, with environmental attitude as a mediating variable. Data were collected from domestic tourists visiting West Java using a combination of convenience and purposive sampling. A total of 346 valid responses were analyzed using the PLS-SEM technique with SmartPLS 4.1.0.3. The findings indicate that green promotion and green perceived value positively influence environmental attitude. Only environmental attitude and green perceived value have a positive effect on the intention. In contrast, promotion does not directly affect the intention. Environmental attitude fully mediates the effect of promotion on the intention, and partially mediates the relationship between green perceived value and the intention to stay at green hotels in West Java. This study contributes to the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) by integrating green promotion and green perceived value to shape green consumer behavior and supports practical strategies to promote environmentally responsible consumer behavior, particularly among tourists. The limitation lies in the sample, which does not include international tourists.

Abstract

Data security is a crucial aspect, especially for confidential, personal, or strategic information. Threats such as eavesdropping and data manipulation by unauthorized parties require a robust protection system. The purpose of this research is to develop a model or application that integrates Affine Cipher and OTP for data protection and to determine the computational performance of a combined implementation of both algorithms. The cryptographic algorithm method uses super-encryption, a combination of the Affine Cipher and OTP algorithms. The resulting encryption produces ciphertext that is difficult to crack because the key length is equal to the message length and the key is generated randomly. The combination of the two algorithms was successfully implemented using the super-encryption method. Affine Cipher acts as an initial substitution layer, while OTP provides a random layer that ensures high-level confidentiality. The use of OTP effectively overcomes the main weakness of Affine Cipher against frequency analysis.

Abstract

Globalization and digitalization have transformed production systems, requiring managers to make strategic decisions swiftly and accurately. Decision Support Systems (DSS) have emerged as technological solutions to support this process; however, studies examining their impact on managerial decision quality remain limited. This research aims to analyze and synthesize the literature on the role of DSS in enhancing managerial decision quality within modern production organizations. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by PRISMA protocols was conducted using articles published between 2015 and 2025. From an initial pool of 200 articles retrieved from Google Scholar, 50 studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using bibliometric techniques, thematic analysis, and narrative synthesis. The systematic analysis reveals that most studies focus on technical aspects such as algorithmic efficiency and artificial intelligence integration, while psychological dimensions of users and managerial decision quality are rarely addressed. This study proposes a conceptual framework that integrates DSS capabilities, user interaction, and decision process quality as the foundation for developing DSS that are more adaptive and human-centered. The findings not only contribute theoretically but also highlight opportunities for future empirical research to evaluate how DSS can enhance managerial decision quality and support modern production practices.

Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth the construction of digital consumer behavior meaning in the purchase decision process on the TikTok platform following its strategic integration with Tokopedia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with phenomenological studies, this research involved 25 informants consisting of active TikTok users from various demographic backgrounds in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and open-ended questionnaires which were then analyzed using data reduction, categorization, and meaning interpretation techniques based on Peter L. Berger's Social Construction of Reality theory. The research findings show that purchasing decisions on TikTok are the result of a dialectic between the externalization of trends, the objectification of digital metrics (likes, reviews, number sold), and the internalization of consumption identity. The Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) phenomenon and social validation (social proof) are proven to be the main drivers that compress traditional purchasing decision stages into an instant and emotional process. The results of this research provide strategic implications for MSME players to adopt authentic storytelling narratives to build trust in a dynamic social commerce ecosystem.

Abstract

The footwear industry in West Java is one of the largest contributors to national manufacturing exports, yet it faces persistent challenges related to supply chain inefficiency, distribution costs, and competitive vulnerability. This study proposes a quantitative supply chain optimization framework for large-scale footwear manufacturers in West Java using Linear Programming (LP) and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) models. The objective function minimizes total supply chain cost, encompassing procurement, transportation, and inventory holding costs, subject to supply capacity, demand fulfillment, and budget constraints. Primary data were collected from four major production centers—Bandung, Garut, Bogor, and Purwakarta—representing six supplier nodes and four distribution hubs. The LP model yields an optimal distribution plan that reduces total logistics cost by 18.4% compared to the existing plan, from Rp 4,320,000,000 to Rp 3,524,160,000 per year. EOQ analysis indicates an optimal order quantity of 15,625 pairs per order cycle, reducing inventory carrying cost by 22.7%. The results confirm that the proposed optimization approach significantly improves supply chain efficiency and enhances the competitiveness of West Java's footwear industry in both domestic and global markets

Abstract

The textile industry requires efficient, accurate, and real-time quality control systems to replace paper-based inspection methods prone to errors and delays. This study develops and evaluates an Internet of Things (IoT)-based fabric defect recording system integrating a rotary encoder for length measurement, Arduino Uno as the controller, ESP32 as the communication module, a keypad for operator input, and a web-based MySQL database. The system automatically measures fabric length, records defect types, and transmits data wirelessly for real-time monitoring and management. Validation was conducted by comparing the proposed system with manual measurement and industrial inspection machines. One-Way ANOVA results show no significant difference in measurement accuracy (p = 0.865 > 0.05), with a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.0074 m, indicating high precision. Efficiency testing using a paired sample t-test shows a 79.2% reduction in recording time, from 16.8 seconds to 3.5 seconds (using digital recording system), with a significant difference (p < 0.001). The system also demonstrates reliable performance with low latency (120–150 ms), high repeatability, and zero data loss through buffering during network disruptions. These results indicate that the system improves operational efficiency while maintaining accuracy comparable to conventional methods and supports real-time integrated data management for textile industry digital transformation.
