Abstract

Batik wastewater produced in the batik industry in Bayat, Klaten Regency, contains chromium and phenol, which pass the wastewater quality standard. This study aimed to evaluate the ability of tuff breccia from the study area to reduce chromium and phenol concentration in batik wastewater. Mineralogical and chemical characterization was conducted to investigate tuff breccia's mineralogical and chemical composition. A batch and regeneration test was conducted to investigate tuff breccia's ability to reduce the chromium and phenol concentration in the batik wastewater. The characterization of tuff breccia indicates that the tuff breccia consists of fragments, minerals (quartz, plagioclase), and clay minerals (smectite and illite). The batch test results show that the grain size of tuff breccia and the pH value significantly influence the ability of tuff breccia to reduce the chromium and phenol concentration in batik wastewater. The regeneration test showed that the tuff breccia would decrease the capability by up to 30 percent after five times of use.

Abstract

Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) is the problem for finding the shortest route starting from start node then visiting number of nodes exactly once and finally go back to start node. If a TSP has a lot of nodes, it will be a NP-Hard Problem. Algorithms working based on heuristic and metaheuristic can be a solution for solving NP-Hard Problem. Savings Algorithm is a heuristic algorithm, so it’s solution may be not the best solution, therefore there is a chance to improve it. Genetic Algorithm is a metaheuristic that can be applied on many optimization problems, including TSP. This paper will discuss about GA for improving route TSP generated by Savings Algorithm. On testing of 10 instances, showing that algorithm based on GA can improve route of TSP generated by Savings Algorithm.

Abstract

Simultaneous processes are processes that are implemented simultaneously where the process and substances used do not interfere with each other, the purpose of each process of preparation for refinement is implemented to remove starch on the warp threads in the form of natural impurities, external impurities and natural pigments in a short time and satisfactory result. The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of the results of the scouring process, and bleaching simultaneously in the pad-batch system. This research method was carried out by varying the concentration of H2O2: 20 g/l, 30 ml/l and 40 g/l using a 70% squeeze effect and a batching time of 12 hours. After the experiments were carried out, tests were implemented on starch content, absorption capacity - capillary test, degree of whiteness, tear strength test by tongue method and aging test (ΔE). From the experimental and test results, the optimum conditions showed that the higher the concentration of H2O2 up to a concentration of 40g/l with the same batching time for 12 hours was obtained at a concentration of H2O2 of 30 g/l where in these conditions starch could be removed from the material properly. Absorption power in 1 minute absorbs color as high as 4 cm. The white degree test results are 61.66%. The tear strength in the warp direction was 9.675 N and the tear strength in the weft direction was 7.475 N and the (ΔE) color difference value of L* (Lightness) or the brightness level was 73.74 for light colors; medium color 62.68; and dark color 20.49

Abstract

An organization/company cannot be separated from decision-making. Intuitive decision-making is highly discouraged if it is not from a reliable source because the level of deviation that occurs can be very large. Therefore, we need a reliable basis for making a decision. The D'Amerta Berniaga business group does not use online media to carry out its business. This has resulted in the underdevelopment of the business being carried out, given the increasingly fierce business competition at this time. However, the decision to use online media is very difficult considering that business owners are housewives and sole implementers in their businesses. This resulted in an increase in workload and a very large amount of time to use online media, causing doubts about the decisions to be taken. Therefore, training on the use of online media was carried out in an effort to overcome this problem. The existence of training makes business owners interested in using online media. The business owner's decision to use online media needs to be evaluated to determine the accuracy of the decisions taken. This study aims to see whether the decisions taken by business owners, namely using online media, are appropriate and able to contribute to their business. The method used is a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Measurements were made based on the total population of 30 respondents by pretest-posttest. Based on the test results with the paired t-test, it can be seen that the decisions taken, namely using online media, have a significant influence on existing businesses.
