Abstract

This study examines the relationship between interest rates, inflation, and investment, as well as their impact on economic growth. High interest rates tend to hinder investment by increasing capital costs, while uncontrolled inflation can create economic uncertainty that negatively affects investment decisions. Based on the Fisher Effect concept, the nominal interest rate is the sum of the real interest rate and the expected inflation rate, indicating that changes in inflation directly influence central bank interest rate policies. An analysis of various journals reveals that interest rates have a negative relationship with investment, while inflation can have both positive and negative effects depending on its level. If inflation remains stable, investment tends to increase; however, if inflation is too high, purchasing power declines, and investors seek safer assets. On a macroeconomic scale, healthy investment is a key factor in driving economic growth, as it contributes to job creation and increased production. Therefore, a balanced monetary policy is essential to maintaining inflation stability, interest rates, and investment growth to ensure sustainable economic development.

Abstract

This study analyzes the human development index, regional minimum wage, and labor force participation rate on poverty in North Sumatra in 2001-2023. The data used is secondary data in the form of time series obtained from the publication of the Central Bureau of Statistics. The analysis method used is multiple regression with E-Views software. The results showed that the human development index has no effect, the regional minimum wage has a negative effect and the labor force participation rate has a negative and significant effect on poverty, which indicates that an increase in the human development index tends to not affect poverty because it has a positive value. In contrast, the regional minimum wage and labor force participation rate show a negative and significant effect on poverty. Simultaneously, the human development index, regional minimum wage and labor force participation rate have a significant effect on poverty.

Abstract

This research explores the strategic positioning of Pegadaian UPC Ajibarang’s products using the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) matrix as a tool for evaluating market performance and future potential. Pegadaian plays a crucial role as a microfinance institution by offering accessible financial solutions such as gold/jewelry pawning, gold savings (digital and physical), installment-based precious metal purchases, electronic pledging, KUR based on vehicle ownership documents, and Hajj savings plans. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, gathering insights from comprehensive interviews with both employees and customers. Findings indicate that each product faces unique obstacles and opportunities. Key challenges include customer dissatisfaction regarding service quality, limited adoption of cashless transactions by elderly clients, and traditional promotional methods relying on brochures and word-of-mouth. By mapping products based on market share and growth prospects through the BCG matrix, the study identifies which offerings should be prioritized for development, stability, or rebranding. In response, it is recommended that Pegadaian UPC Ajibarang enhance its marketing and customer service strategies, broaden digital engagement efforts, and introduce user-friendly technological solutions for older clientele. These steps are essential to strengthen competitiveness and ensure long-term sustainable growth for their most promising financial products.

Abstract

This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach to analyze the influence of soft skills and digital marketing skills on the performance of MSMEs in the creative economy era. Theories used in this research include competency theory and organizational performance theory. This study focuses on understanding how interpersonal abilities (soft skills), such as communication, creativity, and leadership, along with digital skills such as the use of social media, e-commerce, and digital branding, can enhance the competitiveness and productivity of MSMEs. The results show that MSME actors with strong soft skills are able to build strong customer relationships and create added value in their products, while digital skills support operational efficiency and broader market reach. The integration of these two skill sets significantly contributes to the improvement of MSME performance, particularly in terms of sales, customer satisfaction, and business growth. Therefore, the development of soft skills and digital skills is a crucial strategy to support the sustainability of MSMEs amid the increasingly dynamic competition in the creative economy.

Abstract

Using an econometric approach, this study attempts to assess and quantify how globalisation has affected the economy of developing nations. By boosting cross-border information flows, foreign investment, and international trade, globalisation has become a major force in changing the structure of the world economy. Its consequences on social inequality, wealth distribution, and economic stability are still complicated, particularly for emerging countries. This study examines how the Human Development Index (HDI), a measure of economic welfare, is related to the economic aspects of globalisation, including capital flows, technology, and international monetary policy. Finding correlations between globalisation variables and macroeconomic indicators in developing nations is done quantitatively using econometric methods, and both descriptive and inferential analyses are carried out to give a thorough picture of how globalisation has affected important economic sectors. influence on important economic sectors. According to research, globalisation has two opposing effects: on the one hand, it increases economic growth and efficiency through trade and technical development, while on the other, it makes inequality and reliance on international markets worse. These understandings are essential for creating egalitarian and flexible economic policies that can improve living standards in emerging nations. Additionally, the report suggests national policies to improve domestic sectors and promote sustainable human development in order to lessen the negative consequences of globalisation.
