Journal of Psychology and Social Sciences is a scientific journal published by CV. Doki Course and Training. The papers to be published in JPSS are research articles (quantitative or qualitative research approaches), literature studies or original ideas that are considered to contribute to scientific studies of Psychology. It covers problems in psychological studies such as educational psychology, social psychology, personality psychology, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, Islamic psychology, psychometrics and psychological measurement, counseling psychology, psychotherapy, family psychology. Abstract

The study aimed to find the relationship between the self-awareness of psychology students at Raden Fatah Islamic University and Sriwijaya University, Palembang. Self-awareness can be interpreted as a person's ability to understand deeply, including strengths, weaknesses, values, and feelings. The method used is quantitative with a comparative research type by collecting data using a questionnaire, then there is an independent sample T-test. The self-awareness scale is presented in the form of a Likert scale, which is distributed through a questionnaire with four response options: Very Unsuitable (STS), Not Appropriate (TS), Appropriate (S), and Very Appropriate (SS). Favorable statement items are assessed as follows: STS is given a score of 1, TS is given a score of 2, S is given a score of 3, and SS is given a score of 4. Meanwhile, the value of unfavorable statements is given the opposite value. The research results show that the overall population data of respondents consisted of N = 50, consisting of N = 25 Sriwijaya University and N = 25 UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Sriwijaya University mean value = 77.92, std. Deviation = 4.73392, std. Error Mean = 0.946788. Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang mean value = 79.72, std. Deviation = 6.90724, std. Error Mean = 1.38145. sig. value (2-tailed) = 0.288, while research = 5% or 0.05 means (0.288 > 0.05) it can be concluded that this study accepts H0 and rejects Ha. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in self-aswers on Character Building in Students at Raden Fatah State Islamic University and Sriwijaya University Palembang.

Abstract

Students are able to build communication between peers through social support around them by building interpersonal communication especially for students who are far from their university hometown. In this case we will discuss whether interpersonal communication affects social support especially for students who are far from the city of origin of their education. This study aims to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication and peer social support in overseas students. The study population amounted to 30 students. The sample in this study used quantitative correlation method. The data collection method uses a 20 item scale of interpersonal communication and 20 items of peer social support. Data were analyzed using simple regression analysis. The analysis results show the value (rxy) = 0.581 with p = 0.001 (p <0.05), meaning that there is a positive relationship between variables X and Y by 33.7%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an Effect between Learning Motivation on Increasing Learning Achievement of Islamic Psychology Students in Semester 4 of Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang. This study used a quantitative approach with a comparative causal method with data analysis using a simple linear regression test. The subjects of this study were N = 30 4th semester psychology students. Data collection techniques using questionnaire techniques. Variable data on The Effect of Learning Motivation on Increasing Learning Achievement of Psychology Students in Semester 4 of Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang was obtained through a controlling scale, expressing learning motivation and increasing learning achievement with 20 statement items. The significant value in the data in the form of 0.000 means it is lower than the significant level of 0.05, which can be concluded that the learning motivation variable has an influence on the learning achievement improvement variable.

Abstract

Aggressiveness is behavior that hurts, injures, harms and is detrimental both physically and psychologically. State identity is organizing, encouraging, believing in oneself to make self-decisions. This research is limited, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of state identity on aggressiveness in semester 4 students at Palembang city, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The total number of research respondents was 45 people. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire with a quantitative research type. This research was developed with the development of Taufik's (2011) scale concerning the effect of identity status on aggressiveness. The results of the research analysis showed that the significance hypothesis test value was 0.43, the normality test was 0.48 and the linearity test was 0.14. Referring to the deviation from sign value of 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between state identity and the aggressiveness of 4th semester students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is an effect of Mindfulness on a person's psychological well-being. The research was conducted on students of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. This research method is quantitative type of regression. Respondents resulting from the survey amounted to 55 respondents. Data collection techniques were carried out by online surveys via Google Forms, using 2 scales namely FFMQ-15: 15 items Five-Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire and Psychological well being scale. The data analysis method for testing the hypothesis uses a simple linear regression method with significant data results of 0.025 <0.05, which means that there is an influence of mindfulness on one's psychological well-being.

Abstract

Gratitude in man is often associated with the feeling of happiness in his heart. Happy human is a self-sufficient and meaningful individual. The goal of this research is to establish a link between gratitude and the joy of new student Raden Fatah State Islamic University after the covid-19 pandemic. The study uses a quantitative method of correlation, with the number of responders of 29 people, the scale used is cg-6 (all gratitude nare scale). His Pearson's effect is 1,000 ** and its significance between its two variability is 0,000, which means there is a strong link between gratitude and happiness in new university, raden fatah state islamic university. It is thus inferred that there is a strong connection between gratitude and happiness in humans.

Abstract

Gangguan tidur yang sering dialami seseorang salah satunyaadalah insomnia, yang merupakan ketidakmampuan individudalam memenuhi kebutuhan tidurnya dengan kualitas yangcukup. Salah satu bentuk dari terapi perilaku terhadappenurunan insomnia adalah dengan teknik relaksasi denganmenggunakan terapi zikir yang merupakan suatu usahapengobatan yang disertai dengan kesadaran bahwa Allah SWTakan menyembuhkan kondisi psikologis. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk membuktikan apakah terdapat pengaruhpemberian terapi zikir dalam penurunan tingkat insomniaringan pada sampel penelitian. Populasi penelitian ini adalahmahasiswa Program Studi Psikologi Islam Fakultas Psikologi diUIN Raden Fatah, dengan sampel yang berjumlah 15mahasiswa. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini yaitu untukmengetahui apakah terdapat penurunan tingkat insomniaringan pada sampel antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikannyaterapi zikir. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatifdengan pendekatan quasi eksperimental desain One-GroupPretest-Posttest. Metode pengumpulan data untuk mengetahuitingkat insomnia pada sampel penelitian yaitu denganmenggunakan kuesioner (KSPBJ-IRS) yang telah diadaptasidengan tujuan untuk menilai kondisi level insomnia yangdirasakan sampel penelitian pretest dan posttest. Daripenelitian ini diketahui bahwa terdapat hasil yang cukupsignifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan terapi dzikir,dimana hasil dari uji hipotesis menunjukkan p= 0,001 yangberarti (p < 0,05) dan dapat dinyatakan bahwa H0 diterima,sehingga hasil menyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dariterapi zikir terhadap penurunan tingkat insomnia ringan padaMahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi UIN Raden Fatah Palembang

Abstract

Keputusasaan diidentifikasi sebagai faktor risiko penting terhadap tantangan kesehatan mental yang serius.Seorang remaja SMA tentunya akan merasakan adanya keputusasaan dalam hidup mereka. Di tambah lagi memasuki masa peralihan dari SMA ke perguruan tinggi sangatlah rentan terhadap rasa putus asa. Tantangan yang akan dihadapinya tentunya memiliki tingkat kesulitan yang tinggi sehingga rentan merasakan keputusasaan dan kurangnya motivasi. Salah satu penyebab terjadinya putus asa yang di alami remaja SMA adalah tidak lolos dalam seleksi perguruan tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hopelessness yang di alami oleh seorang remaja SMA di kota Palembang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi untuk menggali data subjek. Terapi yang di terapakan oleh peneliti pada penelitian ini menggunakan islamic hope therapy. Hasil yang didapat yaitu subjek mengalami keputusasaan. Penyebab dari keputusasaannya tersebut disebabkan oleh 3 kali gagal masuk PTN. Tanda-tanda keputusasaan yang dialaminya yaitu subjek sempat tidak mau lagi berkuliah, ia sudah menyerah untuk daftar kuliah lagi. Namun dibalik keputusasaannya ia tetap memiliki impian untuk menjadi seorang perawat dan membahagiakan orang tuanya.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify whether Mindfulness training can reduce insomnia-related symptoms. This research discusses sleep pattern disorders, especially insomnia, in students at the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Insomnia can affect students' quality of life and well-being, including academic performance and mental health. This research used a quantitative experimental approach involving 20 students from the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang consisting of the experimental group. The research method uses a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design which involves a pre-test and post-test using the Insomnia Rating Scale as the main measurement instrument. The results of data analysis using the t-test showed significant differences between conditions before and after administering the Mindfulness technique. The T-test test results showed a significant difference between the pretest and post-test. In the Pre-test, the average score for sleep disturbance was 18.90, while in the Post-test, the average score for sleep disturbance was 4.10. Providing Mindfulness techniques during four meetings, each lasting 20 minutes, succeeded in reducing the level of sleep disorders in students.

Abstract

Quarter-Life Crisis can defined as a period where someone feels uncertainty and confusion in their life. Early adult women are the group most frequently vulnerable to experiencing Quarter-Life Crisis because they often face pressures from social and personal responsibilities. Solution Focused Therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on finding solutions and is future-oriented. This study aims to fill the knowledge gap by investigating whether SFT therapy can reduce the symptoms of Quarter-Life Crisis in early adulthood women. This research uses a quasi-experimental one-group before and after study design. With two approaches, a quantitative approach using the Hassler questionnaire to measure the level of Quarter-Life Crisis and a qualitative approach using interviews and observations. Respondents consisted of 3 early adult women who experienced a quarter-life crisis. The results of the research prove that there is a difference before and after administering Solution Focused Therapy in the level of Quarter-Life Crisis of respondents, with a mean score in the pre-test of 120.67 and the post-test of 73.67. These results indicate that providing solution-focused therapy can significantly reduce the level of the quarter-life crisis.
