Abstract

This study examines readers' reception of news regarding the impeachment of President Jokowi on the Tempo.co news portal. In its reporting, Tempo presents various opinions and statements from both supporters and opponents of the impeachment issue, as well as public reactions to the matter. Mass media plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion; however, reception analysis shows that the meaning-making process by the audience is influenced by various contextual factors. The aim of this research is to understand how readers receive news about President Jokowi's impeachment on Tempo.co. The methodology employed is qualitative descriptive, with data collected through in-depth interviews. The findings indicate that nearly all readers believe Tempo is not neutral in its reporting on Jokowi's impeachment. In reception analysis, Stuart Hall categorizes readers' acceptance into three positions; however, regarding the reception of news on Jokowi's impeachment in Tempo, only two positions were identified, with the majority of readers occupying a dominant hegemonic position.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyzed the influence of MICE attributes on tourist visits in Bandung by adapting the dimensions of MICE destination guideline and criteria developed by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in 2017 as independent variables. This research used quantitative research method with multiple linear regression analysis. The data obtained came from distributing questionnaires via Google form to respondents who had visited Bandung, and a sample of 100 people was taken. Based on the result of this research, MICE attributes in Bandung have met the needs of tourist so that they can increase tourist visits to Bandung, especially MICE tourist. MICE attributes have a significant influence simultaneously on tourist visits. The dimension of attraction an ancillary service partially have positive influence and significant influence on tourist visit, while accesibiliry, activities, amenities, and affordability do not have a positive influence and is not significant on tourist visists in Bandung.

Abstract

This research has the aim of explaining social media marketing and price discounts whether they have an influence on purchasing decisions using the research object of Airwalk brand shoes. The population used as the object of research is residents with Surabaya city ID cards and domiciled in Surabaya who have bought and used Airwalk brand shoes. While the sample in this study were 110 respondents. The results showed that social media marketing was able to contribute positively and significantly to purchasing decisions and price discounts were also able to contribute positively and significantly to purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development process of da'wah media in contemporary times. This research uses a qualitative approach, with the type of literature review research collecting data from books, articles, and credible sources from the internet. The use of media in da'wah is not only limited to traditional methods such as lectures or sermons, but has developed into a more modern and innovative form with the existence of various digital platforms, the potential for disseminating information to the public is getting wider. However, this also brings its own challenges, especially related to ethics in preaching. Therefore, it is important to understand the concept of da'wah media and the history of its development and second, the relevance of the media in the contemporary context, and the ethics that should be upheld in its use. This study discusses the definition of da'wah media as well as the history of its development and the relevance of da'wah media ethics in contemporary times. The results of the study show that the development of da'wah media shows that da'wah media is a means used to convey religious messages to the wider community and transforms from traditional forms such as live lectures and magazines, to digital platforms such as social media, podcasts, and online videos and the ethical relevance of da'wah media covers various aspects, ranging from honesty in conveying information,  maintaining harmony between religious communities, to respecting differences of opinion through an inclusive and dialogical approach.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze phonological errors in reading the Qur'an and understand the relationship between these errors and certain aspects of tajwid learning and teaching. Using an analytical study approach, this research evaluates various phonological errors that occur among readers of the Qur'an, with a focus on how these errors affect the quality of reading and understanding of the holy text. The methods used include qualitative analysis of recorded data on Al-Qur'an readings, interviews with tajwid teachers, as well as a review of related literature. The results of the analysis show that the most common phonological errors include errors in letter pronunciation and recitation, as well as inaccuracies in intonation and vowel length. This research also identified that these errors are often influenced by factors such as a lack of understanding of the rules of recitation, the influence of the mother tongue, and a lack of structured practice. These findings suggest the need for a more systematic and adaptive teaching approach to overcome phonological errors, as well as improved evaluation methods to support the development of readers' ability to understand and pronounce the Qur'an correctly.

Abstract

Touch DNA analysis has become increasingly important in forensic investigations. This systematic review aims to compare the effectiveness of various sampling techniques on different surface types and examine the concentration of DNA obtained. Following PRISMA guidelines, relevant studies were identified through PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases. Data were extracted using NVivo and synthesized using a narrative approach, while study quality was assessed using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT). Swabbing, particularly double swabbing, was the most common technique. However, tape lifting was more effective on porous/uneven surfaces, and wet-vacuum sampling outperformed double swabbing on brick. DNA concentrations varied (0.002−0.707 ng/μL) based on surface type and sampling method. Findings provide guidance for forensic practitioners in selecting optimal sampling techniques, refining DNA extraction protocols, and interpreting results. Nevertheless, methodological heterogeneity and laboratory focus limit generalizability. This review offers a comprehensive understanding of factors influencing touch DNA analysis success. Future research should focus on larger, standardized studies, novel sampling techniques, and advanced DNA analysis methods to address challenges associated with degraded or limited touch DNA samples. Continued research is crucial for enhancing the reliability and applicability of touch DNA evidence in forensic investigations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how online media Tempo.co and RMOL.id framed news related to Gibran Rakabuming's gimics in the vice presidential candidate debate in January 2024. Using qualitative research methods and Robert N. Entman's framing analysis approach, this research explores the different perspectives of the two media in presenting reality. The results showed that Tempo.co framed Gibran's gimik as impolite and unnecessary, emphasizing the negative aspects and showing the impropriety of Gibran's behavior. In contrast, RMOL.id viewed the gimik as a brave act that reflected the expression and courage of young people. The differences in the reporting of the two media reflect the construction of reality influenced by each media's preferences and perspectives. This research emphasizes that news is not a pure reflection of reality, but rather a construction that depends on the media's point of view. The findings underscore how political events can be framed differently, influencing public perception and political opinion.

Abstract

The digital asset Bitcoin, based on Blockchain technology, has gained substantial attention, especially among Generation Z and Millennials, as it stands as one of the assets within the Cryptocurrency market. Cryptocurrency focused content on YouTube has played a significant role in Bitcoin's popularity, with Timothy Ronald’s series, “Borong Bitcoin”, emerging as one of the most watched crypto contents on YouTube in Indonesia. This content's appeal lies in Timothy Ronald’s persuasive communication strategies surrounding Bitcoin and the Cryptocurrency market, earning him credibility in conveying messages effectively to the public. This study examines the persuasive rhetorical analysis of Timothy Ronald’s “Borong Bitcoin” series in influencing the audience, grounded in Aristotle's theory of persuasive rhetoric, which comprises Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. Using a qualitative descriptive research approach, this study seeks to elucidate how Aristotelian persuasive rhetoric manifests in the Borong Bitcoin content on Timothy Ronald’s YouTube channel. Content Analysis is employed as the data analysis technique, with findings demonstrating the presence of all three Aristotelian rhetorical elements Ethos, Pathos, and Logos across episodes 1 until 10 of “Borong Bitcoin” content. Future research on persuasive rhetoric is advised to broaden its scope to include various content with rhetorical elements. Additionally, studies incorporating a more diverse audience sample may provide deeper insights into specific rhetorical elements, and further exploration of visual communication could enhance the effectiveness of Ethos, Pathos, and Logos in digital content.

Abstract

This study aimed to explain the public value of the Productive Trader Card (KPP) program in Bojonegoro. The research method utilized was descriptive qualitative analysis. The informants were determined through a purposive sampling strategy. Data were collected based on the results of interviews with the Head of the UM Bojonegoro Trade and Cooperatives Office, as well as business actors who already had and did not have a KPP. The collected data were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman technique, covering three stages: data reduction, display, and verifying/conclusion drawing. The theory applied in this study is Mark Moore's public value, which consists of legitimacy and support, operational capabilities, and substantial value. The study results explain that the KPP program has been running well regarding Mark Moore's public value theory, although several indicators have not been met. The first indicator is the lack of full support from the community regarding this program; this is related to the government's lack of socialization efforts. The second indicator is that digital technology that supports the program has not been met because the KPP creation service cannot be done online. The third indicator is that substantial value has not been achieved regarding culture and ecology.

Abstract

This research discusses Generation Z's reception of the perspective of marriage in the content of the divorce case of celebrities Ria Ricis and Teuku Ryan on the Tiktok account @viralinaja_id. The content displays the detailed reasons for the divorce suit from the Supreme Court Decree on the sinking of the celebrity household of Ria Ricis and Teuku Ryan which is spread on Tiktok social media. Then the content caused many pro and con reactions from the audience. Some of the points of reasoning that are the focus of research are the dominance of the role of mother-in-law in the household, Teuku Ryan's lack of assertiveness as a husband, lack of communication, and body shaming. Gen Z as a digital native or native of the digital world and is seen as part of an interpretive community that is always active in perceiving messages and producing meaning, not just being a passive individual who only accepts the meaning produced by the media. The strong flow of diverse information on social media itself has various views, one of which is related to marriage. Therefore, this research aims to find out how generation Z's reception of the current perspective of marriage is displayed in the content of Ria Ricis and Teuku Ryan's divorce on the Tiktok account @viralinaja_id. The type of research used is qualitative research method and uses reception analysis with encoding-decoding theory by Stuart Hall. The number of informants in this study were 9 people. The data collection techniques used by researchers are in-depth interviews and documentation. From the results of interviews and analysis conducted by researchers, it was found that 4 people were included in the dominant hegemonic position category, namely informants 1, 4, 5 and 6. Then 5 other people were included in the negotiated position category, namely informants 2, 3, 7, 8 and 9. Researchers did not find any informants in the oppositional position.
