Abstract

This study aims to explore the role and form of parental involvement in Islamic education and its implications for student development. Using a qualitative approach and literature review method, this study examines primary sources such as the Qur'an, Hadith, and the words of scholars related to Islamic education, followed by an analysis of relevant previous research. This study not only explores the values contained in religious sources, but also compares empirical findings from previous studies that identify various forms of parental involvement in supporting children's education, such as emotional support, participation in school activities, and communication with teachers. The results of the study show that parental involvement is strongly emphasized in Islamic teachings, with an emphasis on the development of children's character and morals. Various forms of parental involvement contribute significantly to the improvement of academic achievement and character development of students. The implications of this involvement show that students who have active parents tend to show better learning outcomes and have strong moral and spiritual values. This study recommends the development of training programs for parents and activities that can directly involve them in Islamic education. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of the role of parents in forming a generation that is not only academically superior, but also has good morals and strong spiritual values.

Abstract

This study discusses the reconstruction of the concept of a humanistic education model in the context of the Palestinian genocide. This conflict has had far-reaching impacts on humanistic education and development. The purpose of this study is to explore research trends related to humanistic education, analyze the contributions of productive researchers, and identify renewable issues based on a bibliometric review of 2019-2023 publications. This study uses bibliometric methods with data from 1,000 articles analyzed using the Publish or Perish and VOSViewer applications. The results showed a significant increase in the number of publications on humanistic education and Palestinian genocide, with a peak in 2022 (274 articles). Most publications are e-journals (970 articles), reflecting their global accessibility and relevance. Prolific researchers such as Ruslan Abdul Gani and Ahmad Zain Sarnoto made important contributions to this topic. Relevant new issues include freedom, human potential, and educational infrastructure. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of humanistic education for trauma recovery, peace promotion, and strengthening cultural identity in Palestine specifically and generally in educational institutions in Indonesia. The limitation of this study lies in the limited use of databases. Recommendations for future research are to expand the use of international databases to enrich the analysis.

Abstract

Emotional distress during middle adolescence is a psychological phenomenon that is often experienced by adolescents due to significant physical, hormonal, and social changes. This study aims to understand the factors that cause emotional distress in adolescents aged 14 to 16 years and their impact on their social, cognitive, and psychological development. Through a qualitative approach, data were collected using semi-structured interviews, observations, and questionnaires to identify the level of emotional distress and the factors that influence it. The results showed that emotional dependence during this period was influenced by internal factors, such as hormonal changes and identity search, as well as external factors, including social pressure, family dynamics, and peer roles. This emotional weakness can interfere with adolescents' social relationships, academic achievement, and mental health, as well as worsen their decision-making and emotional regulation. Based on these findings, interventions involving counselling, social and emotional education (SEL), as well as support from families and schools are recommended to help adolescents better manage their emotions and improve their psychological well-being. This research provides insight into the importance of a holistic approach in supporting adolescents to face emotional challenges during this transition period.
