Abstract

Until now dogs always have a position as a human friend. With many kind of dogs so an expert was needed to identified the type of dogs based on the characteristics of the dog. But an human expert also have difficulties to identify because there are so many kind of dogs. Therefore, a system is needed to help the identification process. It is a system which can adopt the abilities of experts to identify the dog. With all the technological advancement these days, it have been developed a technology which able to adopt the process and human thinking. This particular technology is called Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence have many kind of application, one of them is an Expert System which have abilities to adopt a Knowledge Base from inputing data from experience of the expert on specific term. Principally, all the database of dogs with its characteristics will be added on a Knowledge Base. This base is take form as a database group, where the Inference Engine on the Expert System will work on these data to describe a specific dog based on the characteristic inputed by user through the user interface. This identification system to describe the dog was made using Delphi programming. On this program, searching kind of dog will be do by inputing characteristics of the dog that user want to find, then the program will find on Knowledge Base which dogs that match on that characteristics. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Dari dahulu hingga saat ini anjing selalu menempati hubungan yang khusus sebagai sahabat manusia. Dengan banyaknya macam anjing yang ada maka dibutuhkan seorang pakar untuk mengidentifikasikan jenis anjing berdasar ciri-ciri dari anjing yang bersangkutan. Tetapi seseorang yang benar-benar ahli sekalipun terkadang kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasikannya karena adanya banyak sekali jenis anjing. Oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan suatu sistem yang dapat membantu pengindentifikasian. Yaitu suatu sistem yang dapat mengadopsi kemampuan para pakar untuk pengidentifikasian jenis anjing. Dengan adanya kemajuan teknologi yang makin pesat maka telah dikembangkan suatu teknologi yang mampu mengadopsi proses dan cara pikir manusia yaitu teknologi Artificial Intelligence atau kecerdasan buatan. Artificial Intelligence memiliki berbagai macam jenis aplikasi, salah satunya adalah Sistem Pakar atau Expert System yang memiliki kemampuan untuk mengadopsi suatu dasar pengetahuan (knowledge base) yang diperoleh melalui penginputan data dari kemampuan para pakar dalam suatu bidang tertentu yang bersifat spesifik. Pada prinsipnya seluruh data jenis anjing beserta ciri-cirinya akan dimasukkan pada suatu knowledge base yang berupa suatu kumpulan database dimana kemudian Inference Engine dari sistem pakar akan mengolahnya untuk mendiskripsikan jenis anjing berdasar ciri-ciri yang dimasukkan oleh user melalui fasilitas user interface.Sistem identifikasi untuk mendiskripsikan jenis anjing ini dibuat dengan menggunakan pemrograman delphi. Pada program ini, pelacakan jenis anjing dilakukan dengan memasukkan variasi ciri-ciri jenis anjing yang ingin dicari, kemudian program akan mencari pada knowledge base jenis-jenis anjing yang memiliki kriteria yang telah diinputkan. Kata kunci: sistem pakar, kecerdasan tiruan, knowledge base.

Abstract

Knowledge about suitability of the land and the plants can minimalize harvest plant problem. The spread of information technology and digital era also change the ways to explain and distribute information and knowledge used for recognize land suitability, with the creation of expert system. Process to recognize land suitability in this system using 19 parameter included physical and chemistry characteristics, and also nature factors such as temperature and rain fall. For all of these parameters, there are 2 complementary parameters to replace data about tekstur, drainase, and slope. Object in this research are 14 kinds of food plants. This system using Fuzzy Inference Systems (FIS) method for processing data. User can choose trapesium or Gauss function for fuzzificy the data. Based on actual values of the land, this system will determine the suitability of the land for food plants and for specific kinds of food plants. This system also determines about limitation factors for the land and gives some managerial suggestion for handling those factors. The results of this system also included about plants grow requirement and suitability location on 2 districts at East Java Province. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Pengetahuan para pelaksana pertanian dalam menentukan kesesuaian lahan dengan jenis tanaman yang akan ditanam tentunya akan dapat meminimalisasikan berbagai permasalahan panen yang dapat terjadi. Perubahan yang terjadi dalam bidang teknologi informasi dan era digital, juga telah mendukung dan merubah cara penyebaran informasi dan pengetahuan, antara lain melalui penggunaan sistem pakar. Sistem pakar ini menggunakan 19 parameter, termasuk parameter fisik dan kimia, serta faktor alam seperti suhu dan curah hujan, dalam menentukan kesesuaian lahan. Di antara seluruh parameter yang digunakan, terdapat 2 parameter pengganti yang dapat digunakan untuk menggantikan parameter tekstur, drainase, dan lereng. Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi 14 jenis tanaman pangan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Fuzzy Inference Systems (FIS), dimana pengguna dapat memilih jenis fungsi trapesium atau gauss yang akan digunakan untuk memproses data. Berdasarkan data aktual, sistem ini akan menentukan tingkat kesesuaian lahan yang akan digunakan oleh suatu jenis tanaman, berikut dengan faktor penghambat yang ada serta saran manajerial yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi keberadaan faktor penghambat, dan lokasi yang sesuai untuk suatu jenis tanaman tertentu. Penentuan lokasi terbatas pada 2 propinsi di Jawa Timur. Kata kunci: kesesuaian lahan, fuzzy inference systems, system pakar.

Abstract

Bonus-Malus System is a system in actuary that introduce the premium class (state) partition, where the state is influenced by the number of annual claims reported by the policy holder. We could base the determination of the state on the stationary distribution that represent the number of policy holders in any state. Swiss Bonus-Malus System has 22 state. The number of state that involved in this system result in the difficulty of stationary distribution determination. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to study a method to obtain stationary distribution of Swiss Bonus-Malus System by recursive formula, with this recursive formula, the stationary distribution of Swiss Bonus-Malus System can be determined easier. Modification of this system with infinite state result in the changes of recursive formula to obtain the stationary. This changes including the determining of base value of the recursive formula. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Sistem Bonus-Malus merupakan sistem dalam aktuaria yang memperkenalkan pembagian kelas premi (state) yang dipengaruhi oleh jumlah klaim yang diajukan oleh pemegang polis tiap tahunnya. Penetapan state dalam sistem ini didasarkan pada pencarian sebaran stasioner yang menyatakan banyaknya pemegang polis dalam tiap state. Sistem Bonus-Malus Swiss (BMS) memiliki 22 state. Banyaknya state yang terlibat dalam sistem ini mengakibatkan sulitnya penentuan sebaran stasioner pada sistem BMS tersebut. Karena itu dalam tulisan ini dipelajari suatu metode penentuan sebaran stasioner dari sistem BMS tersebut, yaitu dengan menggunakan formula rekursif. Dengan formula rekursif ini, sebaran stasioner sistem BMS dapat ditentukan dengan mudah. Modifikasi sistem BMS untuk jumlah state yang tak hingga mengakibatkan perubahan pada formula rekursif untuk mencari sebaran stasionernya. Perubahan ini meliputi penetapan nilai awal dari formula rekursif tersebut. Kata kunci: sebaran stasioner, formula rekursif, sistem Monus-Malus Swiss.

Abstract

Informatics Engineering Department Petra Christian University do inspection process for judicium manually. This manual process spends considerable time and difficulty in adjusting to the curriculum and regulations. Based on the problems faced by the Department of Informatics, the author develops an application to help speed up and simplify the judicium inspection. This application includes the setting of curriculum, setting fields of study, inspection requirements judicium, determining areas of study graduated students and graduation report. This application was created using ASP.Net programming language and MYSQL as a database. Based on the testing processes, this application has been able to meet the needs of Department of Informatics in the judicium inspection process.

Abstract

Bluetooth is a new emerging technology. This technology gives significant changes for electronic devices that we are using. If we look around, a keyboard is connected to a computer. So does a printer, a mouse, a monitor and so on. This condition creates a problem of so many scattered wires installed in the offices, houses and other places. Another problem is how to inspect the damaging or boken wires. In this paper, we will have a discussion on specific applications of bluetooth such as services provided by the bluetooth technology; bluetooth method - how bluetooth devices make connections in a piconet; as well as investigation on bluetooth protocol stack. Bluetooth has succesfully built easy connection among devices from many vendor without using cables, with less power dan money. By using bluetooth, we can build small network or Piconet, consisting of several devices without cables. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Bluetooth adalah suatu teknologi baru yang mulai dikenal dan digunakan. Teknologi ini memberikan perubahan yang signifikan terhadap peralatan elektronik yang kita gunakan. Jika kita melihat sekeliling kita dimana keyboard dihubungkan pada komputer. Demikian juga halnya dengan printer, mouse, monitor dan lain sebagainya. Semua peralatan itu dihubungkan dengan menggunakan kabel. Akibatnya terjadi masalah banyak kabel yang dibutuhkan di kantor, rumah atau tempat-tempat lainnya. Masalah lain yang ditemui adalah bagaimana menelusuri kabel-kabel yang terpasang jika ada suatu kesalahan atau kerusakan. Bluetooth memperbaiki penggunaan teknologi kabel yang cenderung menyulitkan ini dengan cara menghubungkan beberapa peralatan tanpa menggunakan kabel. Pada karya tulis ini, dibahas aplikasi spesifik bluetooth, antara lain servis-servis apa saja yang disediakan oleh teknologi bluetooth; cara kerja bluetooth yaitu bagaimana bluetooth device melakukan koneksi di dalam sebuah piconet serta bluetooth protocol stack. Bluetooth telah berhasil memudahkan koneksi antar beberapa alat dari berbagai vendor tanpa kabel dengan tenaga yang kecil serta biaya yang ringan. Dengan bluetooth dapat dibentuk sebuah jaringan kecil atau Piconet yang terdiri dari beberapa peralatan dan sekali lagi, tanpa memerlukan kabel. Kata kunci: Bluetooth, Bluetooth Protocol Stack, Piconet, Komunikasi data, Nirkabel.

Abstract

In this paper aims we present tools for medical imaging applications to do skin and skull segmentation in a short time. The desired output for skin segmentation is a 3D visualization of the facial skin without any cavities or holes inside the head, while skull segmentation aims to create a 3D visualization of the skull bones. The algorithm used for skin segmentation is thresholding the image, extracting the largest connected component, and holefilling to fill the unnecessary holes. As for the skull segmentation, the process is done by removing the spines which is connected to the skull, and then extracting the largest connected component. Afterwards, mesh generation is done to produce the 3D objects from the processed images. This mesh generation process is done using the marching cubes algorithm. The testing results show that the skin and skull segmentation process will work well when there are no other objects that are connected to the skin or the skull. Skin segmentation process takes a significant amount of time, primarily caused by the holefilling process.

Abstract

Data mining application with fuzzy c-covering method for market basket analysis on supermarket. As one of data mining applications, market basket analysis is generally performed using apriori method. However this method tends to searh the association degree of items by only counting how many times the items appears on the overall transaction without considering the items quantity on each transaction. Therefore, we propose a new method which is based on perception that the more items bought in a transaction, the weaker the relation between items on that transaction. For the experimental purpose of the realization the concept, we collect a month sales transaction data from a supermarket. The data are transformed to another form that can be used by the software. Then, an algorithm is created to process the data in order to generate association rule of items in transaction. The rules can be previewed in a table or graphic. Borland Ceplhi 7 and MS Access 2003 is used to build this experiment software. By using the output of this software, which are the association rules, association degree of items, can be obtained which is useful to help the decision maker to make market policies. Based on the testing result, it can concluded that the smaller minimum support and confidence, the more rule to be generated and the more processing time needed. Also, the higher the combination count to be searched, the less processing time needed. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Sebagai salah satu aplikasi data mining, market basket analysis umumnya dilakukan dengan memakai metode Apriori. Metode ini mencari asosiasi antar item dengan hanya menghitung berapa kali item-item tersebut muncul dalam keseluruhan transaksi tanpa memperhatikan quantitas item dalam transaksi. Oleh karena itu, peneliti mengusulkan metode Fuzzy c-Covering. Metode ini didasarkan pada persepsi bahwa semakin banyak item yang dibeli dalam suatu transaksi, maka hubungan antar item dalam transaksi tersebut semakin lemah. Untuk pengujian realisasi konsep tersebut, peneliti mengumpulkan data-data transaksi penjualan dari sebuah swalayan selama satu bulan. Data yang didapat diubah ke bentuk yang dapat diolah oleh program. Kemudian sebuah algoritma dibuat untuk mengolah data tersebut dengan tujuan menghasilkan association rules dari item-item di dalam transaksi. Rule dapat ditampilkan dalam bentuk tabel ataupun grafik. Dengan menggunakan output dari program ini, yang berupa association rule, dapat diketahui tingkat asosiasi antar item yang berguna untuk membantu pihak pengambil keputusan dalam menentukan kebijakan pemasaran. Dari hasil pengujian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin kecil minimum support dan confidence yang ditentukan, semakin banyak rule yang dapat dihasilkan dan waktu yang diperlukan semakin banyak. Selain itu, semakin tinggi jumlah kombinasi yang dicari, semakin sedikit waktu yang dibutuhkan. Kata kunci: analisis market basket, fuzzy c-covering,program data mining, tingkat asosiasi antar item.

Abstract

The diversity of capability of computers worker in distributed system influences resource allocation and completion time for each jobs on the system. This study aims to implement a dynamic load balancing technique using dynamic distribution upon demand (DDD) algorithm to optimize the resource allocation in distributed data encryption/decryption system. Evaluating was performed by comparing the proposed system with two other models that is a system without load balancing and with static load balancing method. Evaluation result showed that the resource allocation in the proposed system using DDD algorithm more optimized and at the decryption process of three and four characters with proper workload initialization values presented that the job completion time much faster than the two other systems.

Abstract

Technological growth has made a strong friction to the market. Customer becomes an important factor which must be paid attention to. Information which is easy to get increases customer's bargaining power. Customer always wants to get what they desire easily, cheaper, and of good quality. This structural change obliges a company to develop an e-Business strategy which is innovative, by focusing on the market. This structural change also requires a change in the business process on a large scale. At the same time, company has to develop an e-Business infrastructure that is oriented toward continuous service improvement and innovation. PT. V faces this structural change by developing an e-Business system for a VCD rental service. Using the system, which administers VCD rental with delivery system and SMS facility, customers can, by themselves, loan VCDs, return loaned VCDs, browse newest films, and perform other activities, just by sending SMS, without having to visit the rental place. For this reason, the customers will save time and money, become more efficient and effective. The use of SMS as a facility in e-Business has various advantages such as omitting problems with location and time for doing business, and omitting the errors of manual processing. In the end, e-Business is expected to raise market share and to adapt the company's business process according to customer's needs. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Perkembangan teknologi telah membuat adanya pergeseran kekuatan kepada pelanggan atau pasar. Pelanggan menjadi faktor penting yang harus diperhatikan. Informasi yang semakin mudah diperoleh, membuat daya tawar pelanggan semakin tinggi dan pelanggan selalu ingin mendapat yang diinginkan dengan mudah, murah, berkualitas dan sesuai dengan kebutuhannya. Perubahan struktural ini mengharuskan sebuah perusahaan untuk mengembangkan sebuah strategi e-Bisnis yang inovatif, dengan memusatkan perhatian kepada pasar. Perubahan struktural ini juga membutuhkan proses perubahan secara besar-besaran. Pada waktu yang sama, perusahaan harus membangun sebuah infrastruktur e-Bisnis yang berorientasi pada perbaikan layanan secara kontinu dan inovatif. PT. V menyikapi perubahan struktural ini dengan membangun suatu sistem e-Bisnis untuk layanan persewaan VCD. Dengan sistem yang dibangun ini, yaitu sewa VCD dengan sistem antar dan SMS, pelanggan dapat melakukan sendiri proses peminjaman, pengembalian, melihat film terbaru, dan lain-lain dengan hanya mengirim SMS, tanpa perlu datang ke tempat persewaan. Untuk itu pelanggan akan menghemat waktu, uang, serta lebih efektif dan efisien. Penggunaan SMS sebagai fasilitas dalam e-Bisnis mempunyai berbagai keuntungan, seperti menghilangkan permasalahan jarak dan waktu, menghilangkan faktor kesalahan akibat adanya proses manual. Pemanfaatan e-Bisnis ini pada akhirnya diharapkan dapat menambah pangsa pasar dan dapat mengubah proses bisnis perusahaan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pelanggan. Abstract

In computer graphics applications, to produce realistic images, a method that is often used is ray tracing. Ray tracing does not only model local illumination but also global illumination. Local illumination count ambient, diffuse and specular effects only, but global illumination also count mirroring and transparency. Local illumination count effects from the lamp(s) but global illumination count effects from other object(s) too. Objects that are usually modeled are primitive objects and mesh objects. The advantage of mesh modeling is various, interesting and real-like shape. Mesh contains many primitive objects like triangle or square (rare). A problem in mesh object modeling is long rendering time. It is because every ray must be checked with a lot of triangle of the mesh. Added by ray from other objects checking, the number of ray that traced will increase. It causes the increasing of rendering time. To solve this problem, in this research, new methods are developed to make the rendering process of mesh object faster. The new methods are angle comparison and distance comparison. These methods are used to reduce the number of ray checking. The rays predicted will not intersect with the mesh, are not checked weather the ray intersects the mesh. With angle comparison, if using small angle to compare, the rendering process will be fast. This method has disadvantage, if the shape of each triangle is big, some triangles will be corrupted. If the angle to compare is bigger, mesh corruption can be avoided but the rendering time will be longer than without comparison. With distance comparison, the rendering time is less than without comparison, and no triangle will be corrupted.
