Abstract

A prestressed bridge is an alternative way of structural design because of the ease of procurement and installation. For long-span bridges, prestressed beams only require minimum cross-sectional dimensions along with reliable performance. A prestressed concrete beam is always made in several segments to facilitate delivery. It is necessary to analyse and control the stress that occurs due to the external load and the loss of prestress. This study aims to provide a detailed stress analysis of PCI-girder precast concrete segmental bridges, considering the provisions and guidelines specified in SNI 1725:2016. Four stages of construction will be controlled. Namely at the transfer stage, the after-loss of the prestressed stage, the composite beam stage, and the service stage. The tensile and compressive stress analyses will be carried out on the upper side of the bridge surface, the upper side of the girder, and the bottom. If tensile stress occurs, it indicates that the girder is not capable of withstanding the applied load, and additional anchorages need to be installed at each joint between segments. The result obtained from the stress analysis conducted in this study is that no tensile stress is found in any critical sections of the girder. The stress that occurs has fulfilled the design capacity, without any tensile stress occurring in the bridge.

Abstract

Parks have an important role for residents of the city of Surabaya, in addition to functioning as a place of relaxation, parks also have various important roles such as as a source of city lungs, family recreation facilities, entertainment, health, and sports to sharing knowledge and culture. Park Bench is one of the important facility products that can increase the value of satisfaction in the minds of visitors. The research here tries to explore further the design of the park bench by looking at the suitability of various aspects to support the comfort and safety of its use.          In this study, trying to harmonize the design of park benches by developing the concept of comfort and safety on ergonomic standards, first, the researchers studied and analyzed the existing conditions of several parks in the city of Surabaya and also analyzed the sources of supporting literature. Existing in this study took several samples of city park benches that matched the criteria to be used as subjects in the study, the two researchers then analyzed the criteria for developing product design management by looking at the needs of the user aspects by combining them with the suitability of Ergonomics standards. Furthermore, the researchers also tried to look at other supporting attributes in supporting the level of comfort and safety of park benches such as product quality consisting of aesthetics and functionality. The three researchers carried out data processing and calculations for calculating ergonomic values that could be applied to product design.         The research here is expected to be able to understand more deeply related to the development of the Surabaya city park bench design by applying the comfort and safety attributes in more detail and also to understand the standard characteristics that can be applied to the next park bench product design.

Abstract

Globally, currently more than 50 percent of the world's population lives in urban areas. It is projected that 70 percent of the world's population will live in cities by 2050. Given the sheer scale of urbanization and its environmental implications, it is important to consider the interrelationships between urban and rural contexts in an integrated manner. Achieving sustainable development requires priorities and the implementation of tailored policies in both urban and rural areas. One way that can be done is to strengthen rural cultural values in communities and indigenous peoples. In this study, the case study raised is the cultural value of the Samin Bojonegoro community in maintaining cultural values and preventing the flow of urbanization of its population. The creation of a livable environment through the cultural values of the Samin community will be raised through this research through ethnographic approach with synchronic and diachronic presentation. As a result The Samin community, which is rooted in the culture of an agrarian society, has not changed much in terms of vegetation, land use, and cultural activities. This has an impact on environmental sustainability and cultural establishment so that it seems as if it has a border from outside influences while also protecting cities from urbanization flows and environmental burdens

Abstract

One of the serious environmental problems the Indonesian people face today is the waste problem. Waste separation is still an effective solution to facilitate the next waste-handling process. In Indonesia, most of the work of waste sorting is done manually, causing work risks, one of which is related to ergonomics at work. Ergonomics is a work rule or norm that can bring comfort and productivity to work. Waste4Change is a social entrepreneurship that provides responsible waste management services. This research aims to improve ergonomics and working methods in waste separation at Waste4Change. A combination of literature review and field studies is used as the research method. The results showed that waste separation by sitting for too long causes pain in the waist and back of workers. Additionally, the repetitive combination of sitting and standing movements when collecting waste for further separation is felt to be slow and inefficient. The solution to this problem is providing a sorting table made of stainless steel with a height of 100 cm, which is adjusted to the average height of waste sorting workers at Waste4Change. By using the sorting table method, the work of sorting waste is more effective and healthier for the bodies of the waste sorters

Abstract

Fire is an event where a fire is not where it should be, resulting in material or life losses that can occur anywhere. Fatal fires are those that occur in the industrial sector because they will disrupt operational and production activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze employee preparedness for facilities or infrastructure from the protection system in RBS CHROME and find out the comparison of the preparedness of production employees and management employees to fire hazards in RBS CHROME. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The design of this study used a list of questions as a guideline for interviews and field observations. The list of questions to informants of the study was carried out on 3 groups of employees, namely production employees and management employees of RBS CHROME. Field observation of facilities or infrastructure using a checklist sheet that refers to a ministerial regulation. The results of this study show that RBS CHROME has provided facilities or facilities for fire disaster preparedness, but employees who are in the RBS CHROME office do not understand and are not prepared for fire disasters

Abstract

Limited land is a major problem in big cities, which has a direct impact on increasing land prices and low level of affordability. Micro house concept can be a solution to this problem. Planning a bamboo micro house with local materials can be an effort to contribute to a sustainability agenda. Bamboo is a local material that is environmentally friendly, adaptive, and widely available in Indonesia. Preserved bamboo construction with certain treatments is also affordable and durable for its high sustainability impact. This paper aims to study the exploration of bamboo materials in designing micro houses that suit the needs of urban communities. The house concept is open plan, so the spaces can be used multi-functionally by taking into account the requirements of livable micro houses. The method used is the Cyclical Design Process which consists of three stages, which are analysis stage, synthesis stage, and evaluation stage which is carried out repeatedly to produce a design that is in accordance with the design criteria that have been determined. Paraboloid hyperbolic structure system is used to produce an attractive and efficient form. The development of this micro-bamboo house is expected to be useful in solving the backlog and housing affordability problems in Indonesia.

Abstract

The fluctuation of water quality of Surabaya river requires anticipation of online monitoring of major pollution parameters of BOD, COD, TSS for input in the drinking water treatment process. The sustainability of long-term river water quality is also very important for the sustainability of the operation of Water Treatment Installation. The purpose of this study is modelling water quality parameters to find empirical equations to calculate the value of BOD, COD, TSS from DO values with regression method and test the sustainability of Surabaya river water quality parameters using a control chart. This study developed an empirical relationship to estimate BOD, COD, TSS based on DO which has been validated statistically. The results showed that BOD, COD and TSS decreased with increasing DO and among them COD parameters decreased at a higher level compared to BOD or TSS for each increase in DO. Research data with control charts and boxplot methods also show similarities in Surabaya river water quality data characteristics for BOD, COD, TSS and DO between 2014 and 2015 which can still be tested again for the next few years to ensure the sustainability of raw water quality for drinking water treatment plants in the city of Surabaya and has great potential to be tested on rivers where raw water is used for drinking water sources in many cities in Indonesia.

Abstract

The application of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) is an important step in maintaining employees’ safety and health in their work environment. Even though BMKG is not involved in heavy industrial activities, there are still potential hazards and risks that need to be addressed in carrying out meteorological, climatological, and geophysical tasks. This study aims to describe the importance of implementing PPE in the BMKG environment, especially the Aviation Meteorological Station, where we took a case study at the Juanda Meteorological Station. First, we identify potential hazards that may be faced by BMKG employees, such as radiation risk, potential for hazardous gas explosions or fires, extreme weather conditions, and risks of physical injury. In the face of these risks, the use of proper PPE can help protect employees from hazardous exposures, and gas explosions and prevent injury. Next, we discuss the factors that need to be considered in implementing PPE at the BMKG. This includes a comprehensive risk assessment, identification of appropriate PPE for specific hazards, training of employees on the use and care of PPE, and regular monitoring and maintenance of the PPE used. Therefore, by implementing the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, in this case, the application of PPE, BMKG can ensure that employees have a safe and healthy work environment, reduce the risk of work accidents, and comply with applicable regulations and standards related to work safety.

Abstract

In the world of construction, waste is one of the factors that must be minimized or eliminated, because it can cause cost losses and time delays in the implementation of a construction project. Lean production concept approach using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tools is a method that can be used to minimize waste that can be seen through value-added activities, non-value added but necessary. The scope of work that has a significant impact on the UBS Surabaya office building construction project consists of ironwork, concrete work, and formwork work on the superstructure, during the period from March to May 2021. In the scope of work identified Value Added amounting to 73 activities (61.34%), and Non-Value Added but Necessary totaling 26 activities (21.85%). Abstract

.  The sub-sector of the creative industry that gives the hugest contribution to the national GDP is the handicraft subsector, followed by the fashion subsector and next is the advertising subsector. Batik handicrafts in East Kalimantan have also been developed into fashion products by starting to hold many fashion events, one of which is made from batik so that batik in East Kalimantan is very potential because, in addition to being included in the handicraft subsector, it is also classified as a fashion subsector where the two subsectors are included in the top three creative industry sub-sectors contributing to national GDP.  Of the several technologies made as a form of process innovation for the batik process, the easiest one to be applied is the use of software to design batik motifs considering that the price is affordable compared to equipment for other stages in the batik process. The development of batik including the use of software technology to make batik motif designs first developed in Java in accordance with the history of batik that batik is indeed a tradition of living on the island of Java. Thus, the development of its innovation outside Java is not as fast as in Java, including in the use of technology as the use of software to design batik motifs. With the background mentioned above, it is necessary to conduct research on the batik MSME acceptance model for technology in the batik application in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.  The methods used were a validity test, reliability test, and Spearman rank correlation test. The result was that the correlation between Perceived Usefulness and the Actual System Use variable had a strong relationship level because the value was 0.859 as well as Perceived Ease of Use with the Actual System Use variable. In addition, both correlation values had a two-asterisk sign so that the value was significant, or in other words, there was a positive and significant relationship between the Perceived Usefulness variable and the Actual System Use variable and also the Perceived Ease of Use with the Actual System Use variable.
