Abstract

Research conducted is aimed at developing the proposed learning design and based learning problem worksheet based learning on topic vii junior/MTS class set. In the process of doing so, using a plomp model consisting of the first three stages of investment, the development stage, or the development of the prototype and the assessment stage. In part of the initial investment, the analysis of needs, the curriculum analysis, the concept and analysis of learners. Thus acquired the characteristics of the developed learning device. So at the stage of development the prototype is done with the design of the prototype learning device of the learning implement plan and an embedded resource worksheet for complex materials. So the outcome of the prototype would have to go through an formative evaluation of its own evaluation and an expert evaluation in order to obtain a valid one. While the latter part of the assessment is based on the assessment, this part of the assessment aims to determine the practical criteria of the i.t. prototype used the research was carried out at the time of the outbreak of covid-19, resulting in several phases of the study that could not be properly implemented. As a result of developing the learning plan and based learning problem based learning worksheet based on a categorized set topic valid and practical based on the plomp prototype stage. Keywords — design research, learning tools, Problem Based Learning, Sets

Abstract

Students need mathematical problem solving skills to trace the stages and find the desired solution in mathematics. However, in the 2023/2024 academic year, grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 40 Padang still had low ability in solving mathematical problems. The test data shows this. We are interested in adopting Problem Based Learning (PBL) as a learning model. Research was conducted to compare the Problem Based Learning model with direct learning to improve students' mathematics problem solving skills. This study used the Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. We used random sampling methodology. The experimental group consisted of students of class VIII.1, while the control group consisted of students of class VIII.3. The Mann-Whitney test confirmed the research hypothesis. Data analysis showed a P-value of 0.002, which indicated statistical significance. The null hypothesis H0 was rejected because the P-value was less than α = 0.05. Problem-based learning improved mathematical problem solving ability more significantly than direct learning. Keywords – Mathematical problem solving ability, PBL, Direct learning

Abstract

One of the basic abilities of mathematics is concept understanding. In the process of learning mathematic at all levels of education requires understanding concepts to solve problems and develop other mathematical abilities. Based on the test results, understanding of the mathematical concept of students at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Solok is still low. One way to improve it is to use a Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) model. The purpose of this study is to compare the understanding of mathematical concept of students who learn to use the TAI model with those who learn to use conventional learning model and describe the development of students understanding of mathematical concept while using the TAI model. This type of research is quasi-experimental and descriptive research with Static Group Design research design. Based on the results obtained from the data analysis, it can be concluded that the understanding of mathematical concept of students who learn using the TAI model is better than students who learn with conventional learning models class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Kota Solok and the development of mathematical understanding of students learning with the TAI model also increases . Keywords – Cooperative Learning Model, Mathematical Concept Understanding, Team Assisted Individualization Model

Abstract

One of the objectives of learning mathematics is that students have a good understanding of mathematical concepts. However, students' conceptual understanding is still relatively low. One of the efforts that can be done to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts is to apply the Two Stay Two Stray type of Cooperative learning model. students who study with conventional learning and describe the development of students' understanding of mathematical concepts during the implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray Cooperative learning model in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Tuleh. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with the nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The population of the study was students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Gunung TulehT for the academic year 2022/2023 with class XI MIPA 1 as the experimental class and XI MIPA 2 as the control class. Research data were collected through quizzes and tests of students' mathematical concept understanding abilities. Quiz score data were analyzed based on the average score, as well as the percentage of students' scores per indicator. The test data were analyzed using t-test.  Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that in general the development of students' understanding of mathematical concepts has increased while using the TSTS model. Then, based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be seen that the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who use the TSTS learning model is better than the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who study with conventional learning models. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the TSTS learning model on the understanding of students' mathematical concepts. Keywords– TSTS learning model, Mathematical Concepts Understanding,Quasi Experiment

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is one of the most important abilities in learning mathematics. However, in reality the students' ability to communicate mathematically in class VIII SMP Negeri 25 Padang is relatively low. The solution sought is the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model. This study aims to describe the growth of students' mathematical communication skills in class VIII SMP Negeri 25 Padang while the TTW model is being used and to assess whether students' mathematical communication skills taught by the TTW model are superior when compared to direct learning. Quasi-experimental research, nonequivalent posttest-only control group designs, and descriptive research are all examples of this sort of study. For the academic year 2022–2023, the population was decided to be the class VIII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Quizzes and the overall evaluation of the statistical material's mathematical communication abilities served as the instruments. The results of the quiz data analysis resulted in the development of students' abilities in mathematical communication as long as the TTW model was used for each indicator. P-value = 0.000 is the outcome of hypothesis testing with a significance threshold of 0.05. means that so reject . So it was found that the ability of students to communicate mathematically using the TTW model was better when compared to direct learning.Keywords– Think Talk Write (TTW) Learning Models, Mathematical Communication Skills, Direct Learning Models

Abstract

This study aims to find out the understanding of mathematical concepts students learn by using Model Cooperative Learning Numbered Heads Together type is better than the understanding of mathematical concepts students learn by using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 15 Padang. Type of research is Quasi-Experimental Research with the study design static  group  design. The study population  was students of  class  VIII SMPN 15 Padang.  Sampling techniques was random sampling, assigned to class VIII.7 as the experiment class and class VIII.6 as the control class. Instrument of research  is a final test of students' understanding of mathematical concepts. Data analysis used U Mann Whitney test. Based on the data analysis test of understanding of mathematical concepts, obtained P-value = 0.0466 less than the 0,05 significance level. So it can be concluded that the understanding of mathematical concepts students learn  by using Model Cooperative Learning Numbered Heads Together type   is better than  the understanding  of mathematical concepts students learn by using conventional learning. Thus, it can be said that there is influence of cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together type to understanding mathematical concepts of students.Keywords : Understanding of Mathematical Concept, Numbered Heads Together, Conventional Learning

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the types of errors committed learners in solving Trigonometry based on the stages of Kastolan. This type of research is qualitative deskripstif with the subject of the research is the 6 students of class X MIPA 1 SMAN 1 Bonjol. Data collection techniques in the form of a written test which are prepared in the form of the description (essay examination) as much as 9 point about, interview and documentation study. The technique of the analysis conducted in this research is Data Reduction, Data Display and Conclusion Drawing. From the results of the student error analysis, conceptual errors were obtained with an error percentage of 28.65% consisting of indicator 1 as much as 29.65% conceptual error, indicator 2 as much as 58.01% conceptual error and indicator 3 as much as 12.34% conceptual error; procedural error as much as 34.39% which consisting of indicator 1 as much as 43.11% procedural errors, indicator 2 48.86% procedural errors and indicator 3 as much as 7.95% procedural errors; technical errors are the most common mistakes made by students with a percentage of 36.96% with indicator 1 as much as 20.95% technical error, indicator 2 as much as 68.57% technical error and indicator 3 as much as 10.47% technical error. Keywords– Typesoof Castor Errors, Conceptual0Errors, Procedural0Errors, Technical0Erros, Trigonometry

Abstract

The capability of mathematiical communication is a base ability that each students whould have in learning, however the fact of mathematiical communiication at the  grade of SMP N 20 Padang is low yet, that it needs to be improved.Learning process nowadays tend to be teacher center. To solve this problem, teacher needs to apply a learning model than canfacilitate the students in understanding the material and to build their knowledge. The learning model that can be applied is Cooperative Learning type Formulate-Share-Listen-Create (FSLC). Type of  this research is a quasi-experiimental with Static Group Design. Base in data analysis that using the t test obtained P -value = 0.019 < α = 0.05, we deduce that the capability of mathematiicalncommunication in students by using Cooperative type FSLC is better than the students that learn by using conventional learning.Keywords–cooperatif learning, Formulate-Share-Listen-Create, mathematical communication, conventional learning

Abstract

Abstract – One of the basic abilities in mathematics is problem solving ability. But in the reality,   students mathematical problem solving ability is still low. One way to improve it is to apply Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The purposes of this study is to analyze and describe the mathematical problem solving ability who learn to use the PBL model is better than the mathematical problem solving ability who learn to use conventional learning. The type of research is quasi experimental with Randomized Control Group Only Design and descriptive research. The study population was student of class VII SMPN 2 Kota Solok with a sample of class VII 8 and VII 9. The instument used was a test of mathematical problem solving ability. Based on the results obtained from the data analysis, it can be concluded that the mathematical problem solving ability of students who learn with PBL model is better than students who learn with conventional learning an the development of mathernatical problem solving ability of students learning with PBL model also increases. Keywords – Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

Thisstudy aims to develop a Student Worksheet (LKPD) on the topic of program linear for class XI high school students by applying Problem Based Learning. This type of research is development research using the Plomp which consists of three phase, namely preliminary research, prototyping, and the assessment. The preliminary research phase consist of needs analysis, curriculum, concept, and student analysis are carried out in order to obtain temporary characteristics of the developed LKPD. The development analysis phase, a prototype worksheet based on Problem Based Learning is made on program linear.After that, a formative evaluation was carried out on the LKPD prototype which was useful for improving and improving the developed prototype which consisted of self-evaluation, validation by expert review, evaluation one-to one, and small group evaluation to determine the validity and practicality of the LKPDResults of the validity it  has met the very valid criteria with an average of 86.3% and has a practicality level of 88.2% with a very practical category, it can be concluded that the LKPD based on Problem Based Learning on the topic of program linear valid and practical. Keywords–  LKPD, Problem Based Learning (PBL), Program Linear
