Abstract

The problem in learning matheamatic is the mathematical problem solving skills of student are not optimal. Low in mathematical problem solving skills occur in class XII MIPA SMAN 5 Padang.That problem can occur causes by some reason, such as the students still not active in learning mathematic and the students are not used to handling nonroutine questions. Creative Problem Solving is one of the learning model that can enhance the students mathematical problem solving skills. The purpose of this research is to describes the mathematical problem solving skills of students who study with Creative Problem Solving Learning models. This type of research is quasy-experiment with Randomized Control Group Only Design. The result of this research indicate that the mathematical problem solving skills of student whith application of Creative Problem Solving learning models is better than the mathematical problem solving skills students whith conventional learning. it can be conclude that there is an influence the application of Creative Problem Solving learning models to the mathematical problem solving skills.Keywords— Creative Problem Solving learning models, conventional learning, mathemaical problem solving skills

Abstract

This study aims to produce a product in the form of a quantum teaching-based student worksheet with a scientific approach that is valid and practical for students of class VII SMPN 4 Padang. This type of research is design research using the Plomp development model which consists of three stages, namely Preliminary Research, Prototyping Phase, and Assessment Phase. The preliminary research stage includes needs analysis, curriculum analysis, student analysis, and analysis of teaching materials. Prototyping phase is the stage for designing student worksheets based on quantum teaching with a scientific approach consisting of prototype 1, prototype 2, and prototype 3 which are evaluated using a formative evaluation design. The instruments used in this development research were interview guidelines, observation sheets, questionnaires and final tests. The results showed that student worksheets based on quantum teaching with scientific approach that is valid and practical.Keywords – Student worksheets, Quantum Teaching, scientific approach, Valid, Practical

Abstract

Getting good learning outcome is an important thing for the student Because it can be stated as achievement indicators in developing knowledge according to what they have been studied. In the reality mathematics learning outcomes that was obtained by class VIII students at SMP Negeri 43 Padang are still very low. Many of them have not been active involved in mathematics learning. To overcome this problem, the model of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning was implemented by the purpose to finding out whether the outcomes of learning in mathematics by students who studied with the NHT model supported by Geogebra were better than learning which conventional. The research type  is quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The research were student in class VIII of  SMP Negeri 43 Padang for the 2023/2024 learning year. Based on data analysis, the student learning outcomes using the NHT model assisted by Geogebra are better than conventional learning.keywords- Numbered Heads Together, Learning Outcomes, Cooperative Learning Model

Abstract

iThe irnportance oficriticalithinkingiinitheiera of the industriallrevolution 4.0, urging educationiis able to prepare generations of critical thinkers to adapt to a challenging life in the future. The reality in Indonesia is found thatistudents' rnathernatical criticalithinkingiskills areistillirelativelyilow. The purpose of thisistudy was toidescribe the level of rnathernatical critical thinking ability of students in class VIIIiof SMP Negerii13iPadang in 2018/2019 Acadernic Year. The criticalithinkingiindicators used according to Facione areiinterpretation, ianalysis, evaluation, andiinference. This researchiis a descriptive qualitative research. Subject selection is done byipurposiveisarnpling. Datairetrieval is done byiobserving, givingitests, andiinterviews. Basedion the resultsiofidataianalysis, it wasiconcluded that the level of rnathernaticalicriticalithinking ability ofistudents in class VIII.1 of SMPN 13 Padangiin the 2018/2019 acaderniciyear was rnoderate, arnounting to 63.39%. Thisiis dueito theilackiofiunderstandingiof students'iconcepts andithe lack ofitraining of studentsito think critically duringilearning and iniexercises. Key words- Analysis, Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract

Based on observation at class XI IPA SMAN 7 Padang, it was found that students’ mathematical reasoning abilities were low. One of the reasons was the learning implementation was not optimal for training and improving mathematical reasoning skill well. The effort that can be used was implementing PBL model. The purpose of this study was to determine and describe wheter the mathematical reasoning ability that the learning applied PBL model was better than applying direct learning model. This type of research was quasy experiment with Randomized Control-Group Only Design. The population was students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 7 Padang  while class XI IPA 4 and XI IPA 5 as a sample. The instrument used in this research was a mathematical reasoning ability test with essay questions. The results showed that mathematical reasoning ability by applying PBL model is better than mathematical reasoning ability by applying direct learning model.Keywords – Problem Based Learning (PBL), reasoning skill, Mathematics

Abstract

Mathematical communication is important aspect that must be achieved in mathematics learning. Based on the observations results at SMPN 15 Padang, it shows that the skills of communication in mathematical of class VIII students are still not optimal. Efforts to overcome this problem are in the shape of implementing the Formulate-Share-Listen-Create (FSLC) model. The research purpose was to find out whether the skills of communication in mathematical of students who studied using the FSLC cooperative model were better than students who learned using the direct learning model with direct. This research type is a quasi-experiment with the nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The research population was class VIII students of SMPN 15 Padang for the 2022/2023 learning year. This research used technique by simple random sampling. The instrument for research was in the shape of a final test of mathematical communication skills. Based on the final test of the hypothesis test obtained p-value = 0.008, which means rejecting H0. Thus we got the conclussion that there is an influence on students' mathematical communication abilities after the FSLC model is applied.Keywords–  Formulate-Share-Listen-Create(FSLC), Mathematical Communication Skills

Abstract

Understanding mathematical concept isone of the important aspects of learning mathematics for students. However, the aspect in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Pariamanis still low. The observation showed that the studentsare less active in participation and consider learning mathematics as a difficult lesson. One effort to improve students understanding of mathematical concepts is to apply learning models that can facilitate and involve student participation as well as provide opportunities for students to build their own knowledge. The model that can be used is cooperative learning model of Think Talk Write type. This type of research is a quasi experimental research with the design of Static Group Design. The technique is simple random sampling, the used instrument is the final test in the form of essay questions to see the understanding of mathematical concepts of students. The data analysis used is t-test. Based on the analysis of the final test results of students' understanding of mathematical concepts obtained the average of the experimental class students is 74.28 and the control class is 68.87. The result of hypothesis test shows that in real level α = 0,05 obtained p-value = 0,046 it can be concluded that understanding mathematical concept of students learning with cooperative learning model type Think Talk Write is better than understanding mathematical concept of students learning with conventional learning. Keywords - Understanding mathematical concept, Cooperative learning, think talk write, Conventional learning

Abstract

Learning results and an attitude of appreciating the usefulness of mathematics are the goals of learning mathematics. But in reality, it was found that learning results and attitudes to appreciate the usefulness of mathematics for class X SMAN 7 Padang students in the 2020/2021 school year were still low. One exertion that can defeat these issues is to apply a model Problem Posing learning in the mathematics learning. The direction of this research was to decide whether the mathematics learning results of students who learned to use the Problem Posing learning model were superior than the mathematics learning results of students who learned to use immediate learning model in grade X students of SMAN 7 Padang and to see whether the assembling of the Problem Posing learning model to learning affects the attitude of appreciating the use of mathematics in class X SMAN 7 Padang. The kind of study used is a quasi-experimental research with a design using The Static Group Design. The study population is class X students of SMAN 7 Padang in the 2020/2021 school year. The sample class was picked utilizing the Simple Random Sampling technique, which is using a lottery system. Data collection was completed utilizing the worth of the Mid-Semester Examination and a questionnaire regarding the attitude of appreciating the usefulness of mathematics which was analyzed with the normality experiment, homogeneousity test and t experiment In accordance with the data analysis, it is seen that at the real level  = 0,05, P-value = 0.000 is obtained for data on mathematics learning results and P-value = 0.035 for data on attitudes to appreciate the usefulness of mathematics. Because P-value < , then reject . So the conclusion is that the Problem Posing learning model affects the learning results and attitudes of appreciating the use of mathematics by students, where the learning results and attitudes of appreciating the usefulness of mathematics students who study with the Problem Posing learning model are greater than those who study with direct learning model in class X SMAN 7 PadangKeywords __ Problem posing, learning results, attitude of appreciating the usefulness of mathematics

Abstract

Understanding of mathhematical concept is one of the objective of learning matematics which is expected to be well mastered by students. But in fact, students understanding of matematical concepts is still low. This can also be seen in class VIII IT Dar El-Iman Padang Middle School. One of the effort that can be made to increase students understanding of mathematical concept is to apply the Number Heads Together cooperative learning model. The instrument used was a test of understanding mathematical concepts in the form of essay quations which were analyzed by t-test. Basedd on the results of data analyzed obtained P-value = 0.032, less than α = 0.05, meaning that the understanding of mathematicall concepts of students who learn with the cooperative learning model of the Number Heads Together type is better than the undertanding of mathematical concept of students who learn with direct learningg model in class VIII SMP IT Dar El-Iman Padang.Keywords– Understanding of mathematical concepts, NHT, Direct  learning

Abstract

Understanding the concept is one of the goals in learning mathematics. In fact, students’s concept understanding in class VIII SMPN 34 Padang has not developed optimally. This can be seen from the results of observations and tests given to students. Efforts to overcome these problems is to apply cooperative learning model Write Pair Switch type. The kind of this research is Quasi Experiment with Static Group Design. Sampling was done by random sampling technique. The instrument used is a test of essay. Based on the results of the test data analysis we can conclude that the ability of understanding the mathematical concepts of students which learn with cooperative learning type Write Pair Switch type is better than those learning with conventional learning. Thus, it can be said that there is the influence of cooperative learning model type Write Pair Switch to understanding students' mathematical concepts.Keywords – Understanding of mathematical concepts, Write Pair Switch, Conventional Learning
