Abstract

A person’s ability to solve problems was a very important aspect that must be possessed by students’ in learningmathematics because it wa one of the goals of learning mathematics. However, result of observation and interviews in the class X MIPA SMAN 7 Padang shows that students’mathematical problem solving ability was still low. It was cause by students’ did not involvment in learning process and they didn’t accustomed to solve non routine problems. Therefore, to improvestudents’ mathematical problem solving ability required anappropriate strategy in learning activity. One of learning models that can be used is guided inquiry model. Purpose of study was to determine students’ mathematical problem solving ability that usingguided inquirylearning model and compare it with students’ who learn with conventional learning in class X MIPA SMAN 7 Padang year lesson 2017/2018. Based on data analysis at a = 0,05 by doing t’-test,it is obtained Pvalue = 0,000, because P-value < a then????0 rejected. This means that students’ mathematical problem solving ability who learning by applying guided inquiry model is better than conventional learning in class X MIPASMAN 7 Padang year lesson 2017/2018.Keywords – conventional learning, guided inquiry learning model, mathematical problem solving ability.

Abstract

The potential to understand mathematical concepts of students at SMPN 16 Padang is very low. This is because students have not been facilitated by learning media that builds understanding of students' concepts. One of the methods used is to develop learning media in the form of Discovery Learning-Based Student Worksheets (LKPD). This study aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) Based on Discovery Learning on the material of Constructing Curved Side Spaces for class IX SMP/MTs. The developed Student Worksheet (LKPD) is assessed based on legitimate and practical. This study is categorized as design research using the Plomp development model which consists of three stages, namely initial investigation, development/prototyping stage and assessment stage. At the initial investigation stage, needs analysis, curriculum analysis, concept analysis, and student analysis were carried out in order to obtain the characteristics form learning media developed. At the stage of development or prototyping, LKPD is designed with three characteristics, namely interface (display), content (content), and support (language and readability). The results obtained are at the LKPD validation stage, namely obtaining a score of 3.25 with a very valid category. In the practicality stage, the practicality value was obtained with a score of 3.14 in the practical category. So that it can be concluded that the Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on Discovery Learning is valid and practical to use in learning. Keywords - desain research, BRSL, Discovery Learning

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills are one basic abilities that must be possessed by students. But in reality at class VIII  SMPN 1 Pariaman are still low. The solution used to overcome these problems are Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model.. The purpose of the research was to describe whether the mathematical communication skills of Grade VIII students of SMP N 1 Pariaman that taught using TPS learning were better than students who  using direct learning. The research type is quasi experiment with the design of Randomized Control-Group Only Design. The sample class was VIII2 as experimental class  and  VIII4 as control class. The instruments used to collect information in this research were final test and quizzes. Based on the test we can concluded that students who learn using TPS have mathematical communication skills better than students who taught using the direct learning model in class VIII at SMPN 1 Pariaman.Keywords --- direct learning, mathematical communication skills, TPS learning model.

Abstract

Mathematicskconceptual understanding ability is oneloffabilities thattmust be mastered by students. However, students' understanding of mathematical concepts is not optimal yet. The PBL model can be used to enhance students' knowledge of mathematical concepts. Thekgoal of this researchk is to find out whetherdmathematics conceptual understandingf ability of studentspwho learn with PBL modell is betterk thanq mathematics conceptual understanding ability of students that learning by directj learning. Abstract

This research is intended to know how much correlation between learning motivation and mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII at UPTD SMP N 1 Kec. Kapur IX. Learning outcomes are a reference to see whether or not the goals of learning have been achieved. Learning motivation is one thing that affects learning outcomes. Motivation is an energy that can trigger mind and body to do something. It means, if students have motivation to learn, students will get good learning outcomes. In this study, a correlation approach was used that look for the influence of one variable on other variables. The data analysis obtained from this study are at a significance of 5% indicate that r count is greater than r table (0.778> 0.273) which means that learning motivation has an influence on learning outcomes as much as 60%.  Keywords: Descriptive Research, Learning Motivation, Learning OutComes

Abstract

In school, math communication skills are very important. This study focuses on these skills. The assessment of the XI MIPA class of SMA Negeri 6 Padang shows that students' ability in this area still needs to be improved. Problem-based learning (PBL) can help in this regard. This study examines the advantages of these skills in PBL compared to traditional methods. The study used Quasi Experiment with Posttest-Only Control Group Design and simple random sampling. In the hypothesis test, the P-value of 0.000 rejected the null hypothesis (H0). This shows that PBL outperforms traditional learning.Keywords– Problem Based Learning Model, Mathematical Comuunication Ability, Quasi Experiment

Abstract

Mathematical communication is something that is needed by students in learning mathematics. This study was a quasi-experiment with the aim of to know mathematical communication students who studied with problem based learning models. This research was conducted on class VIII. Sampling was done by using simple random sampling. The instrument that was used to collect the Junior High School, data in this research was final test in essay form test which consisted of 7 questions, where each question contains indicators of mathematical communication. The results show that the mathematical communication of student in experiment class students had increased for each indicator. Based on the results of data analysis, by doing t test at significant level of 0,05, it is obtains P-Value = 0,000. Because of the P-Value < 0.05, then H0 is rejected, so that mathematical communication of students who learn the problem learning model are better than students who learn with conventional learning.Keyword - Mathematics Communication, Problem Based Learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of LKPD using Geogebra Classroom which is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' creative thinking skills. This LKPD uses the Plomp development model which consists of 3 stages, namely the preliminary research stage, the prototype stage, and the assessment stage. The subjects of this study were 9 grade VII students of SMP N 4 Bathin Solapan. The instruments used are validation sheets, questionnaires for teachers and students, and questions about creative thinking skills. In this study, valid, practical, and effective LKPD were obtained. The LKPD is valid with a result of 88.19% in the very valid category. The results of the educator's response questionnaire obtained a practicality value of 93.33% with a very practical category. Meanwhile, for the student questionnaire, the practicality value of 84.44% was obtained in the very practical category. The LKPD was categorized as quite effective with an average score of 46.87% in the pre-test and 66.67% in the post-test.. Keywords– LKPD, Geogebra Classroom, Valid, Practical, Effective

Abstract

Learning outcomes was the accomplishments of educational purpose for students who take part in the teaching and process of learning, student outcomes of learning are fundamentally behavioral changes brought about by learning. According to the findings, it was discovered that the outcomes of learning in mathematics of Class VIII students of SMPN 10 Kota Bengkulu for the 2022/2023 academic year were still low. So that the effort that can be made to increase student outcomes of learning in mathematics is to apply problem based learning learning models. This research purpose to see whether the the outcomes of learning in mathematics of students who study using the problem-based learning model in class VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kota Bengkulu was more good than the outcomes of learning by students using learning in conventional models.This research type was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent posttest only control group design. The selection for sample was conducted using technique by simple random sampling, so that class VIIID was selected as the class for experimental and class VIIC as the class for control. The instruments in research were in consist of quizzes and final tests outcomes of learning in the form of essays. According on the research data analysis results at the real level α = 0.05 using the t test obtained P-value = 0.018, that means that P-value < ? so reject H0. This shows that the outcomes of learning by students in mathematics who study using the model of problem-based learning are more good than students who study using learning in models of conventional in class VIII SMPN 10 Kota BengkuluKeywords– Problem Based Learning, Mathematics Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning ability is one of the abilities that are expected to increase and develop in mathematics learning, but in reality students' mathematical reasoning abilities are not optimal. The application of inquiry learning model is one effort that can be done to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This study aims to uncover and describe whether students 'mathematical reasoning abilities who learn to use inquiry learning models are better than students' mathematical reasoning abilities who learn to use direct learning models. The type of this research used is quasi experiment with the research design of The Static Group Design. Based on the results of the final test data analysis, it was concluded that the mathematical reasoning abilities of students who learn with inquiry learning models are better than the mathematical reasoning abilities of students who learn with direct learning models.Keywords – Inquiry Learning Model, Mathematics Learning, Mathematical Reasoning Ability.
