Abstract

Various of studies indicate that mathematics learning achievement of Indonesian students is classified as low. The main factors causing this issue are passive teaching-learning process that related to the low  understanding of student’s mathematical problem solving. The purpose of this article is written to examine the influence of model discovery learning of student’s mathematical problem solving. The methods of data collection used in this article are to search and review the relevant journals after that process the data. The result of this study is indicate that student’s understanding of mathematical problem solving increase also students learning process become more active by using a model discovery learning.Keywords__mathematical problem solving abilities, Discovery Learning

Abstract

The goal of learning mathematics is problem-solving proficiency. In fact, this ability is limited. Initial assessments provided this data. To address this skill gap, the Think Talk Write Co-operative Model engages students in peer conversation and problem solving. The quasi-experimental study employed Posttest Only Control Group Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Simple random sampling was used. Experimental class XII MIPA 4 and control class 3. Think Talk Write cooperative learning outperforms direct learning with a P-value of 0.004, below the significance level of 0.05.Keywords – Mathematical Problem-solving, Think Talk Write

Abstract

Understanding  the  concept  is  a  basic  ability  that  must  be  possessed  by  every  student.  But  in reality learning is still centered on the teacher, the teacher actively provides information to students, while students are still passive in learning. So that, it results in understanding of concepts and learning activities of  low  students.  One  of  the  efforts  made  to  improve  students'  understanding  of  concepts  is  to  apply  the Connecting  Organizing  Reflecting  Extending  (CORE)  learning  model.  The  purpose  of  this  study  is  to describe whether understanding mathematical concepts of students who learn by learning CORE is better than understanding mathematical concepts of students who learn by direct learning.Based on the results of the data analysis, it was concluded that understanding mathematical concepts of students who learn using the CORE learning model is better than understanding concepts of students who learn by direct learning. Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many schools are taking advantage of online educational resources. Utilization of multimedia technology can support the method of education that is not perfect. Utilizing a quality mathematics education program like Geschool is one way to enhance student learning outcomes, particularly in mathematics. The goal of this research was to identify and evaluate how the learning environment at SMP Negeri 20 Padang affected students' willingness to learn mathematics. Pre-experimental research with a one-shot case study project is what this kind of study entails. The object of research is 32 students of class VII.8 SMP Negeri 20 Padang. Analysis of research data reveals a correlation coefficient, according to the findings (0.362 > 0.2335) with a significance level of 5% and an efficiency of 13%. The findings of this study show that the SMP Negeri 20 Padang's utilization of online learning resources greatly increases students' enthusiasm to learn mathematics. Keywords– Learning Media, Geschool, Mathematics Learning, Learning Motivation

Abstract

The best problem-solving abilities should result from students' mathematical mastery. The class VIII pupils at SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang, however, only have rudimentary knowledge of how to solve mathematical problems, according to the results of the initial test. This is a result of the learning model being employed not prioritizing student learning (observation) and the fact that students are unfamiliar with problems that call for problem-solving (interview). A solution to these issues is provided by the problem-based learning (PBL) instructional model. This study sought to ascertain whether eighth-grade students at SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang are more adept at solving arithmetic problems while utilizing the Problem based learning learning model than when using the direct learning model. This study was a pseudo-experimental design with non-equivalent posit test and only one control group. Students in the 8th grade at SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang Academic Year 2022/2023 served as the study's sample. In a straightforward random sampling method used to choose research samples, class VIII.1 serves as the experimental class and class VIII.2 serves as the control class. The P-value = 0.002 was found with a significant level (? = 0.05) based on the analysis of the test results for mathematical problem-solving skills. As a result, H0 is disregarded. Problem based learning learners in the eighth grade perform mathematical problem solving tasks more effectively than direct learners.Keywords- Problem based learning, Problem solving

Abstract

Abstract Module was one of the learning materials in learning process. Learning materials held the position as first capital which will used and produce. However, learning materials which used in school was not contextual and motivate studens to use it, so developed module of comics based on contextual on linear equation system of three variables. Kind of this research was R&D with aimed to produce module which valid, practice, and effective. This research used ADDIE model consisting of the analysis, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. Instrumen of this research consisted of the questionnaires; analyze, validation, practicalities, and interview of sheet; and test which analyzed descriptively. Result shows that quality of module is very valid with construck aspect has module component, content arranged base on curriculum, language aspect appropiate to EBI and visual already good technically. Module is very practice because easy to use, can understanding, and saving time. Module is effective to improve result of studying is one of the learning materials in studying process.Keywords— module, comics, contextual, ADDIE, design.

Abstract

This study aims to develop e-modules based on Realistic Mathematics Education for students of class XII SMA that are valid and practical. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Koto Baru, Dharmasraya in class XII IPA 2 and XII IPA 3. The type of research is Research and Development with the Plomp model which goes through two stages, namely preliminary research and prototyping phase. The preliminary research stage consists of four analyzes, namely needs analysis, student analysis, curriculum analysis and concept analysis. The prototyping phase consists of prototype 1, prototype 2, prototype 3 and prortype 4. The results showed that the PMR-based e-module can be categorized as valid and practical. Based on the results of the validation by the validator, the PMR-based e-module meets the very valid category with a validity level of 89.22%. Then based on research, PMR-based e-modules can be categorized as very practical with a practicality level of 92.2% by students and 96.93% by educators. Keywords - E-module, Realistic Mathematics Education, Valid, Practical

Abstract

The ability of understanding mathematically concepts is one of the learning objectives that are expected to develop optimally on self-learners. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the ability of understanding mathematically concepts learners whose learning model learning cycle 5E better than the ability of understanding mathematically concepts learners whose learning using conventional learning in grade VII of SMPN 25 Padang. The research is a quasi experimental research design with Static Group Design. Based on the data analysis of the final test results showed that the significant level of 0.05 by t-test is obtained P-value = 0.044, because P-value < a then Ho is rejected. It shows that the ability of understanding mathematically concepts learners use models learning cycle 5E better than the ability of understanding mathematically concepts learners with conventional learning in grade VII of SMPN 25 Padang. Abstract

This study aims to develop modules on trigonometry lessons based on scientific approach for students of class X SMA/MA that are valid and practical. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Padang Panjang, Padang Panjang in class X MIPA 4. The type of research is Research and Development with the Plomp model which goes through two stages, namely preliminary research and prototyping phase. The preliminary research stage consists of four analyzes, namely needs analysis, student analysis, curriculum analysis and concept analysis. The prototyping phase consists of prototype 1, prototype 2, prototype 3 and prortype 4. The results showed that the scientific approach-based  module can be categorized as valid and practical. Based on the results of the validation by the validator, the scientific approach-based module meets the very valid category with a validity level of 85.28%. Then based on research, scientific approach-based modules can be categorized as very practical with a practicality level of 87.64% by students. Keywords Module, Scientific Approach, Valid, Practical
