Abstract

Interactive learning multimedia is a supporting tool in the learning process,so that it is more interesting and helps visualize topics that is still abstract. One of the topics is on the material solid figure. The purpose of this study was to develop constructivism based interactive learning multimedia for material of a solid fgure that was valid and practical. The type of research was a development research used Plomp model consisting of the preliminary research phase and prototyping phase. The Preliminary research phase includes needs analysis, student analysis, curriculum analysis and concept analysis. Prototyping phase was the stage of design interactive learning multimedia consisting of prototype 1, prototype 2, prototype 3 and prototype 4 which were evaluated using a formative evaluation design. The results of this study show that the interactive learning multimedia produce is valid and practical.Keywords – Constructivism, Geometry, Interactive learning multimedia, Plomp

Abstract

Problem-solving ability is one aspect that is the main focus of learning. Students use the knowledge they already have to solve the problems given. One method of solving the problem is to use the Polya step, namely understanding the problem, planning a solution, implementing a settlement plan, and checking back. The low mathematical problem-solving ability of students is caused by the habits of students in solving problems according to what the teacher teaches and the lack of giving mathematical problem-solving questions which results in students lacking the skills to solve mathematical problem-solving ability questions. Based on these problems, the formulation of the problem of this research is how the mathematical problem-solving ability of students of Islamic Junior High School Tuanku Lintau on the material of variable equation system in terrms of Polya's steps. This study aims to describe and analyze students' ability to solve mathematical problems using Polya's steps on the material of a two-variable system of linear equations in class VIII SMP Islam Tuanku Lintau. The type of research being conducted is descriptive in nature, since the subjects of research are selected using a targeted sampling method. Tests and interviews were used as data collection methods, while the analytical methods used for this study were descriptive analysis and data triangulation. As a result, the average score of mathematical problem-solving ability in the problem understanding stage was 1.43, the average score in the calculation planning stage was 1.74, and the average score in the calculation plan execution stage was 1.43. 0.51 and in the verification step. Again the average score is 0.33. Therefore, the lowest average score is reviewed in the last step, and the highest average score is taken as the problem understanding step. Keywords– Problem-Solving, Polya's steps, two-variable system of linear equations

Abstract

In the study of mathematics, the ability to solve mathematical problems is a very important skill. Based on the results of the Final Semester Examination and an initial test of mathematical problem-solving abilities, it appears that class VII at SMPN 8 Payakumbuh still lack the ability to solve mathematical problems. The problem-posing learning model is the ideal model for improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The descriptive and quasi-experimental design of this kind of research employs a Randomized Control Group Only Design. Simple Random Sampling was used for the sampling. as the experimental and control classes, VII.1 and VII.5. The experimental class is the subject of this study. The study's findings include P-Value = 0.010 =0.05, H0 is rejected, and it is concluded that students in class VII SMPN 8 Payakumbuh Academic Year 2022/2023 who learn with a problem-posing model have better mathematical problem-solving abilities than conventional learning model.Keywords. – Mathematical Problem-Solving Abilities, Problem Posing

Abstract

The mathematic concept comperehension is the gool/objective of mathematic learning which has important rolein mathematic learning. The fact,the students’comprehension of mathematic concept at grade XI MIA of SMAN 2 Pariaman are still considered low. It has beenshown from the result of daily examination of interesting mathematic in which just a few number of studentswho can achieved he minimum standard score (KKM), namely the score should be 75. It is caused by the model of learning which is used by the teacher has not increased yet the students’ comprehension of  mathematic concept. The solution of this problem is by applying the cooperative learning model type TTW. This research showed that there were the differences of students’ comprehension on mathematic concept, in which students who learned by using cooperative learning model  type TTW ishigher than the students who learned by using direct learning model. It can be seen from the differences of mean scores of student who taught byusing cooperative learning model type TTW and they are who taught byusingdirect learning model, namely 17.68 and 15.86 with the highest score was 24. Keywords: Mathematic Concept Comperehension, Cooperative Learning ModelType TTW

Abstract

Student worksheets are supporting materials for learning mathematics learning that are needed by teacher to achieve learning objectives. However, found in the field shows that learning mathematics is still classified as learning that students do not like beacuse the teaching materials provided by teacher are not attractive to students. Thisoiresearch aims to develop student worksheets that can attract student to prefer learning mathematics. This type of research is a development based on Realistic Mathematics Education with the Plomp method which consisits of a preliminary research stage and a prototyping phase. The preliminary research stage includes needs analysis, student analysis, curriculum analysis and concept analysis. The prototyping phase is the stage for designing teaching materials which consists of 3 prototypes. Abstract

This study aims to test whether students who learn using the Somatic, Auditory, Visualisation, Intellectually (SAVI) model have better ability to represent than students who learn with direct learning. Quasi-experiment with Static Group Design is employed. This study include 2023/2024 grade XII IPS SMA N 3 Padang students. The final test and quizzes assessed mathematical representation skills. P-value of 0,000 with an actual level of 0,05 rejects H0 in hypothesis testing. This suggest that SAVI students have superior mathematics representation skills than Direct students. Abstract

Globalization has had an impact on various aspects of life, except education. The study aims to examine the effect of the application of the Discovery Learning learning model on the ability of High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) as a new challenge for students in the 21st century. The final test of the study was tested based on three levels of questions based on Bloom's taxonomy namely analyzing, evaluating, and creating. In this study the hypothesis test compares the t-value with α (the established real level is 0.05. H0 is rejected  > α. Based on the results of the hypothesis test obtained  means that  <α so that it can be concluded that H0 rejected or H1 accepted The results showed that the ability of HOTS students of class X MIPA SMAN 3 Padang who used the Discovery Learning learning model was better than students who used conventional learning models. Keywords — Learning models, Discovery Learning, High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS).

Abstract

Problem solving skills are very important in the world of education, therefore problem solving skills must be improved. Based on the results of test at SMPN 1 2X11 Enam Lingkung, it can bee seen that students’ problem solving ability is still low. One of model that can be applied to problem solving is Problem Based Learning. This type of research is quasy experiment using static group design. Based on the final test results, it can be seen that students who use the Problem Based Learning model have an average problem solving ability higher than the average problem solving ability using the conventional model. It can be concluded that the student’s mathematical problem solving ability by using the Problem Based Learning model is better than the problem solving ability by using conventional model.Keywords- Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Conventional Model, Problem Based Learning.

Abstract

Students must possess mathematical communication abilities as one of their mathematical competencies. In actuality, however, this aptitude in the eighth grade of SMPN 25 Padang remains relatively modest. The use of learning models that discourage active participation in communicating mathematical concepts is one of the contributing factors. The Think Pair Square cooperative learning model and Discovery Learning-based LKPD will be utilized to address these issues. This research is quasi-experimental and descriptive in nature, with a design consisting solely of randomized control groups. The hypothesis test's P-value of 0.035 indicates that H0 should be rejected based on the research findings. Thus, the conclusion reached is that the mathematical communication skills of eighth-grade SMPN 25 Padang students whose learning uses the Think Pair Square model supported by discovery learning-based LKPD are superior to those of students whose learning uses conventional models.Keywords. – Cooperative Learning, Think Pair Square, Discovery Learning, Mathematical Communication Abilities

Abstract

One of the goals of learning mathematics is to mathematical problem solving. Mathematical problem solving is the basis for students in understanding mathematics well. But in fact, the ability of problem solving mathematics VIII class  for SMP Negeri 1 Padang still needs to be improved. Solution to solve this problem is problem based learning. The result of the research show that the mathematical problem solving ability of students using model of problem based learning is better than the mathematical problem solving ability of students using conventional learning model. Keywords – mathematical problem solving, problem based learning, conventional learning.
