Abstract

Schizophrenia affects approximately 1% of the global population. Dopaminergic models have long dominated pathophysiological accounts and the immune system is increasingly recognized as a mechanistically active contributor. However, no comprehensive synthesis of recent cross-domain neuroimmune evidence exists. This systematic review aimed to characterize the scope, quality, and clinical relevance of neuroimmune research in schizophrenia published between 2025 and 2026. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, Scopus was searched using 'schizophrenia' AND 'immune system,' yielding 1,497 records. After screening for publication year, document type, and full-text eligibility, 55 peer-reviewed articles were included across ten thematic domains. A convergent neuroimmune signature emerged: pro-inflammatory cytokines were consistently elevated and correlated with symptom severity; the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio independently predicted PANSS scores, suicidal ideation, and hospitalization duration; gestational poly I:C-induced Maternal Immune Activation (MIA) programmed durable immune dysregulation in non-human primate offspring through late adolescence; transcriptome-wide Mendelian randomization identified 196 immune-cell schizophrenia risk genes, with IRF3 enrichment linking the disorder to antiviral pathways; and specific gut microbiota genera (Barnesiella, Desulfovibrio, Gordonibacter, and Romboutsia) exerted causal protective effects via immune-inflammatory mechanisms (OR 0.85–0.93). These findings establish schizophrenia as a disorder with a multifaceted neuroimmune signature spanning developmental, genetic, cellular, and systemic dimensions. The field has advanced from correlational observation to causal inference and therapeutic proof-of-concept, positioning the immune system as a critically underexplored target for next-generation psychiatric treatment and necessitating immune-stratified trial designs alongside routine immunological monitoring in clinical practice.

Abstract

Traditional English language pedagogy often treats grammar as isolated units of declarative knowledge, failing to foster real-time communicative proficiency during authentic production. To address this issue, this study investigated the effectiveness of an integrated-skill approach in teaching eight specific grammar patterns and explored student attitudes toward this framework. A quantitative quasi-experimental research design was implemented with twenty Secondary I English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners at a private language center in Myanmar over a three-month instructional intervention. Data were collected using diagnostic pre-tests, identical parallel post-tests, and two multi-item closed-ended questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The empirical findings from a paired-samples t-test demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in overall morphosyntactic competence from the pre-test (M = 15.05) to the post-test (M = 32.55; p < .001). However, granular structural analysis revealed that development was not uniform. Rule-governed structures like the present simple passive and exclamations showed substantial accuracy gains, whereas lexically complex items like past participles experienced a clear performance plateau. Perceptually, the multi-skill task framework generated highly positive attitudes by increasing classroom interaction, though a notable paradox emerged as learners frequently experienced cognitive processing strains during dense receptive input activities. These outcomes imply that the conversion of declarative knowledge into automatic performance depends heavily on structural complexity. Curriculum designers and educators must systematically combine communicative fluency with guided, explicit focus-on-form interventions to ensure that young learners actively notice and process difficult syntactic patterns during multi-skill tasks.

Abstract

Indonesia's shipbuilding sector has significant maritime potential; yet escalating rivalry in ship docking tenders necessitates that contractors establish bid prices sufficiently low to get contracts while still ensuring a satisfactory profit margin. Research Objective: This research seeks to compute and evaluate optimal markup values and anticipated profits using the Friedman and Gates bid price strategy models to determine the best competitive model for e-procurement ship docking tenders in Indonesia. The study employs quantitative comparison analysis with finalized ship docking tender data from the LPSE Ministry of Transportation database for the years 2021 to 2023. Methodology: Following the application of selection criteria, the research examined 22 ship docking tender samples from 27 shipyard contractors, using single-normal and multi-normal distribution methods to estimate winning probabilities, optimal markups, and expected profits. Key Findings: The findings indicate that the Friedman model utilizing a multi-normal distribution yields the lowest optimal markup values, between 5% and 20%. In contrast, the Friedman single-normal distribution results in 12% to 13%, the Gates multi-normal distribution ranges from 6% to 20%, and the Gates single-normal distribution consistently maintains a value of 17%. Key Findings: Consequently, the Friedman model with a multi-normal distribution is recognized as the optimal bidding method for enhancing the likelihood of winning bids by offering a more competitive bid price. The results suggest that shipyard contractors may use past tender data and bidding models to achieve a balance between competitiveness and profitability, mitigate price uncertainty, and enhance strategic decision-making in public ship docking bids.

Abstract

Tax aggressiveness remains a persistent concern for fiscal authorities and stakeholders, as it directly diminishes public revenue and complicates regulatory compliance. While firm-level attributes such as capital intensity, leverage, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) frequently inform discussions on tax planning, empirical consensus regarding their influence remains elusive, particularly within the Indonesian manufacturing sector. This study investigates the impact of these three determinants on corporate tax aggressiveness among manufacturing entities listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Utilizing a quantitative framework, we applied panel data regression analysis to a purposive sample of 93 manufacturing firms observed between 2019 and 2024. Our analysis reveals that neither capital intensity nor CSR exerts a statistically significant influence on tax aggressiveness. Conversely, leverage demonstrates a significant negative association with tax aggressive behavior. This inverse relationship suggests that firms maintaining higher debt levels benefit from substantial interest tax shields; these deductible expenses effectively lower taxable income, thereby reducing the firm's overall tax liability. These findings indicate that leverage serves as a primary mechanism for tax management in this context. Rather than pursuing aggressive avoidance strategies, highly leveraged firms appear to prioritize the inherent tax advantages derived from their financing structures. These results offer critical implications for policymakers, investors, and corporate managers navigating the intersection of capital structure decisions and fiscal compliance.
