Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the sociolinguistic phenomena of code-switching, code-mixing, interference, and integration in digital interactions among bilingual communities. The method used is descriptive qualitative, using listening and note-taking techniques for WhatsApp speech. The results show that code-switching occurs in whole sentences (Indonesian-English and Indonesian-Javanese), code-mixing occurs through the insertion of foreign terms such as "interview" and "gais" into Indonesian, integration is seen in religious terms that have become integrated into the language's rules, and morphological interference occurs in foreign verbs without appropriate affixes. This phenomenon is influenced by the social environment, limited word equivalents, and the need for social identity. The implications of this dynamic include increased communication flexibility, but potentially decreased the accuracy of standard language use in formal situations. Keywords: Sociolinguistics, Code-Switching, Code-Mixing, Bilingual Communities, Interaction.

Abstract

The development of technology and digital media has influenced the way people communicate, particularly through chat applications such as WhatsApp. In digital communication, the use of Indonesian is often mixed with foreign languages, especially English. This phenomenon leads to the processes of language integration and interference. Integration occurs when elements of a foreign language are absorbed and used naturally in Indonesian, whereas interference occurs when elements of a foreign language influence the structure or usage of Indonesian so that it deviates from established linguistic norms. This study aims to analyze the forms of language integration and interference that appear in digital communication. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation of chat conversations on digital media. The results show that the use of foreign vocabulary in digital communication occurs due to factors such as practicality, user habits, and the influence of globalization. This phenomenon indicates that digital communication has become a space that accelerates language mixing, both in the form of integration and interference. Therefore, understanding these two phenomena is important for examining the dynamics of the development of the Indonesian language in the digital era.

Abstract

Victimology is a branch of criminal law that focuses on the study of victims of crime, including the process of victimization and the factors that contribute to it. In the criminal justice system, attention has often been centered on offenders, while the position of victims tends to be neglected. This study aims to analyze the concept of victimization from the perspective of victimology and to understand how individuals can become victims within the context of criminal acts. The research method used is normative legal research with a conceptual approach, relying on secondary data such as legal literature and scholarly works. The results indicate that victimization is influenced by various factors, including social, economic, and psychological conditions, as well as the interaction between victims and perpetrators. Victimology plays an important role in providing a more balanced perspective in the criminal justice system by emphasizing the protection and rights of victims. Therefore, a deeper understanding of victimization is essential in formulating fair and victim-oriented legal policies.

Abstract

This research aims to design and build a prototype of an automatic nutrient irrigation system for hydroponic lettuce plants using the drip method based on ESP32 and the Internet of Things (IoT) using the Blynk platform. The system monitors pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), temperature, humidity, water level, and nutrient flow volume using a 4502C pH sensor, a TDS Meter V1.0 sensor, a DHT11 sensor, an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, and a YF-S201 water flow sensor. The system also utilizes a DS3231 RTC module as an accurate time reference. Nutrient irrigation is carried out automatically at a volume of 340 mL per cycle based on a time schedule. The system is designed to monitor pH (6–7), nutrient concentration (TDS) (560–840 ppm), and solution capacity in the reservoir (>20%). When parameters fall outside the specified limits, the system will trigger an alarm via a buzzer and send real-time notifications to the user via the Blynk platform. The DHT11 sensor is used to classify environmental conditions so that watering intervals can be adjusted adaptively. Furthermore, the system utilizes the Non-Volatile Storage (NVS) feature on the ESP32 to store the last watering data to maintain system consistency after a power outage or restart. The system also features a push button as a reset button to re-initialize the system. Test results show that the pH, TDS, and ultrasonic sensors have error rates of 0.65%, 1.48%, and 0.83%, respectively. The system is capable of precisely controlling watering volume using the YF-S201 water flow sensor. The system can still operate optimally offline without relying on an internet connection. Thus, the developed system can improve the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of drip hydroponic lettuce nutrient irrigation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in-depth the differences between two Indonesian language textbooks for Grade VIII SMP/MTs: "Bahasa Indonesia untuk SMP/MTS Kelas VIII" by Muhamad Zainal Arifin, published by Grafindo Media Pratama (Kurikulum Merdeka, 2023), and "Piawai Berbahasa Indonesia 2 untuk SMP/MTS Kelas VIII" by Nurhadi, Giri Indra K., and Maifan Tri S., published by Erlangga (Revised 2013 Curriculum). The method employed is content analysis with a descriptive-comparative approach. The analysis focuses on seven main aspects: (1) book identity and legality, (2) philosophical foundations and curriculum approaches, (3) material structure and organization, (4) types of texts and genres presented, (5) learning features and components, (6) assessment systems, and (7) contextual relevance and literacy development. The results indicate that both books are oriented toward text-based approaches and activity-based learning; however, they differ significantly in terms of competency frameworks, material depth, technology integration, and assessment design. The Grafindo book (Kurikulum Merdeka) emphasizes holistic learning outcomes per phase with multimedia integration and Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) questions, while the Erlangga book (K-13) is more structured through Core and Basic Competencies (KI-KD) with systematic, step-by-step activity-based features. These findings are expected to serve as a scientific reference for teachers, school principals, and policymakers in selecting and implementing Indonesian language textbooks that best suit the context and needs of students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in teachers' learning strategies between the Merdeka Curriculum and the 2013 Curriculum based on a review of recent and relevant scientific literature. The curriculum transition from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum carries significant implications for how teachers plan, implement, and evaluate learning. The method used is a qualitative approach with a library research design. Data sources include scientific journal articles, policy documents, and reference books published between 2019 and 2025. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and comparatively. The findings indicate that learning strategies in the 2013 Curriculum are systematic and structured through Core Competencies and Basic Competencies (KD), while the Merdeka Curriculum provides greater flexibility through Learning Outcomes (C) Learning Objectives (TP), and the Learning Objective Flow (ATP). Fundamental differences are evident in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. The Merdeka Curriculum promotes more innovative, contextual, and student-centered learning, whereas the 2013 Curriculum tends to be more rigid and administrative in its implementation. The success of learning strategy implementation in both curricula depends beavily on teachers' pedagogical competence and readiness to adapt to curricular changes.

Abstract

Public relations management in primary schools is very important to strengthen communi-cation and collaboration between schools and the surrounding community. However, in practice, many schools still implement public relations programme planning in an adminis-trative and hierarchical manner, resulting in limited participation from parents and the community. This study aims to analyse a participatory-based public relations programme planning model for primary schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research to understand the process of public relations programme planning in schools. The results show that public relations programme planning at SDN Pasar Lama 1 involves the principal, teachers, students, parents, and the community in various school activities. This participation is evident in environmental activities, character building, and community co-operation in maintaining school cleanliness, planting trees, and promoting healthy living. This participatory approach strengthens communication between the school and the com-munity, increases public trust, and supports the success of educational programmes in pri-mary schools.
