Abstract

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) faces significant challenges in the context of Generation Z. This study aims to examine the perceptions of Christian students regarding the relevance of the Great Commission in the Generation Z environment. A survey was conducted among 101 Christian students aged 18-24. The data was collected using a questionnaire with three indicators of the perception of the Great Commission's relevance: understanding, application, and influence. Each indicator consists of 10 questions with four options in the form of a Likert scale. The results indicate that there is a stronger understanding of the Great Commission than its application and influence in Gen Z's life. The study's findings indicate that while there is a robust theological grasp of the Great Commission, the primary challenge lies in its practical implementation to enhance its influence on Gen Z. To address this challenge, churches and educational institutions must adapt to the digital lifestyle of Gen Z.

Abstract

This research examines how the values of Pancasila have been deviated in leadership practices in the modern political era. The objective of this study is to identify the factors leading to these deviations and their impact on leadership structures in Indonesia. The results indicate a decline in the application of Pancasila values, particularly concerning justice and solidarity, due to the influence of globalization and pragmatic politics. The conclusion suggests the need for revitalizing Pancasila values in education and policy to reinforce national identity and a sustainable democratic system.

Abstract

Corruption is a severe issue that affects social inequity, moral deterioration, and the erosion of public confidence in state institutions. A comprehensive strategy is needed to prevent corruption, and character education grounded in Pancasila values is one such strategy. The purpose of this study is to examine how Pancasila-based character education shapes students' integrity and how it helps avoid corruption. A descriptive approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methodologies is the research methodology employed. University students were used as research subjects in surveys, interviews, and literature reviews to gather data. The findings indicate that the majority of students exhibit favorable views toward anti-corruption behavior and have a solid grasp of Pancasila values. The degree of student integrity and the comprehension of Pancasila values are significantly correlated. Character education based on Pancasila has been successful in fostering values like justice, accountability, and honesty, which are the cornerstones of anti-corruption sentiments. However, issues like the effects of globalization and the poor application of values in everyday life continue to be barriers. To create a generation of students who are honest and dedicated to preventing corruption, Pancasila character education must be strengthened in the curriculum and supported by educational institutions and society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze corruption as a form of deviation from the value of social justice in the implementation of the fifth principle of Pancasila, as well as to examine efforts to eradicate it in government administration. Pancasila is the foundation for Indonesian governance, one of which is the fifth principle, which upholds the value of social justice for all Indonesian people. However, in practice, numerous cases of corruption demonstrate that the government still faces challenges in implementing the value of social justice in the actual state governance. This research design uses a qualitative approach with library research methods through analysis of various relevant literature and research findings. The results indicate that in addition to impacting the national economy, corruption also contributes to social inequality among communities, diminishes public trust in the government, and hinders the equitable distribution of social welfare. Corruption has long been believed to be a concrete form of neglecting the value of social justice, as it involves the abuse of power and state resources for personal or group interests. Several studies have also suggested that factors driving corruption include weakening transparency and state accountability, and unstable law enforcement. In its implementation, the fifth principle of Pancasila requires several supports, such as strengthening the Indonesian legal system, increasing state transparency and accountability, and instilling Pancasila values in the younger generation through character education. Thus, the implementation of the fifth principle of Pancasila is expected to reduce corruption and achieve governance with integrity.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine how Pancasila is internalized in the character formation of students in higher education and how effectively these principles are applied today. This study, using a quantitative approach, utilized a descriptive survey involving 61 active undergraduate students in Indonesia who were purposively selected. Data were collected using a questionnaire-based tool and then analyzed using a descriptive survey. The study showed that the majority of students believe Pancasila is crucial for building their character. The results showed that 98.4 percent of respondents stated that Pancasila education is important for professional development, and 96.7 percent stated that Pancasila education should be studied scientifically. However, there are still significant differences in how people understand and apply Pancasila in their daily academic lives. This indicates that the process of internalizing values is still inefficient and predominantly cognitive. This study suggests that incorporating Pancasila values into the lives of students in higher education requires a more holistic approach.

Abstract

Corruption in Indonesia remains a serious problem that has been deeply rooted for a long time and has widespread impacts, both on the economic and social aspects, as well as on public trust in the government. Various eradication efforts have actually been undertaken, including through the trident strategy of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), but their implementation still faces many obstacles, such as weak bureaucracy, overlapping regulations, and a persistently evolving culture of corruption. This study aims to examine and analyze why the Pancasila-based approach is considered more fundamental and effective in achieving sustainable corruption eradication. The method used is a qualitative approach with a literature study technique, which involves reviewing various scientific sources, journals, and official documents related to corruption and the values of Pancasila. The results of the study show that corruption is not merely a legal violation, but is also closely related to issues of values and culture. Therefore, a more comprehensive approach is needed. Pancasila, as the state foundation, contains moral, ethical, and spiritual values capable of shaping individual character while encouraging the creation of a system that is transparent, accountable, and just. Thus, the internalization of Pancasila values is considered more effective because it is not merely repressive, but also preventive and educational, thereby being able to support sustainable corruption eradication.

Abstract

Using pragmatics, this study aims to describe the speech acts of Indonesian netizens regarding the Punch monkey phenomenon on TikTok. The focus of the study is to find locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary speech acts in netizen comments on TikTok. This study is a qualitative study using a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and documentation of comments on videos related to the phenomenon. The research data consisted of three comments that were purposively selected as analysis samples. Each comment was analyzed based on three dimensions of speech acts, namely locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary as the effects they have on the reader. The results show that the three comments analyzed simultaneously contain locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary elements. Comments in the locutionary aspect convey direct information about Punch's condition, while comments in the illocutionary aspect contain the intention of expressing sympathy, criticism, and support. Meanwhile, comments create emotional effects, such as empathy and concern for Punch's condition, in the perlocutionary aspect. These findings indicate that a single comment on social media can have a complex and layered communicative role. Therefore, the language used in social media comments not only serves to convey information, but also to express attitudes and influence readers.

Abstract

Zakat al-Fitr is an obligation for every Muslim, with the primary purpose of assisting those entitled to receive it (mustahiq), particularly the poor and needy. However, in practice in the village of Sungai Cubadak, some members of the community channel their Zakat al-Fitr toward the construction of a mosque, leading to differing viewpoints among religious leaders. This study aims to examine the practice of using Zakat Fitrah payments for mosque construction and to analyze the perceptions of the ustadz at Darul Makmur Islamic Boarding School regarding this practice. The research method employed is field research using a qualitative approach, involving data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and literature review, followed by inductive and normative analysis. The results indicate that the payment of zakat al-fitr for mosque construction is carried out by handing over the zakat to mosque administrators, who are considered gharimin. Meanwhile, the ustadz’s perceptions vary; some permit it under certain conditions, such as for the public good or in emergency situations, while others reject it because it does not align with the provisions regarding the recipients of zakat al-fitr, which prioritize the poor and needy. The conclusion of this study is that the practice of using zakat al-fitr payments for the construction of prayer halls remains a subject of debate, with a general consensus that such funds are more appropriately distributed to the primary recipients (mustahiq) in accordance with Islamic law, except in specific emergency situations that meet the principle of public interest.
