Abstract

This study presents the development and evaluation of a CNN-based model for detecting safety helmets in industrial settings. Utilizing a dataset from GitHub, which includes images of individuals wearing safety helmets in various industrial environments, the model was trained using the YOLOv8 architecture over 100 epochs. The comprehensive training process involved data augmentation techniques to enhance generalization capabilities. The evaluation results demonstrated high precision (0.92) and recall (0.856) for helmet detection, with an overall mAP50 of 0.766. Visual analysis through precision-confidence curves confirmed the model's high reliability in detecting helmets at higher confidence thresholds. These findings suggest that the implementation of this model in real-time monitoring systems could significantly enhance industrial safety by reducing manual inspection efforts and ensuring compliance with safety regulations

Abstract

Concrete, as a cornerstone of modern construction, heavily relies on the quality of its constituent materials, particularly aggregates. This study delves into a comparative analysis of aggregates sourced from two widely utilized riverbed regions, namely Hari-River and Kamar-Kalaq, situated within Herat province, Afghanistan. Given that over 90% of concrete in Herat province is sourced from these two riverbeds, the findings of this study carry immense significance. The research meticulously examines key parameters, including clay content, gradation, aggregate shape, and compressive strength, to determine the optimal choice for concrete production. Methodologically, samples were acquired following ASTM standards, and rigorous testing procedures were conducted, encompassing clay particle analysis, sieve analysis, and strength testing. The results reveal significant disparities between the two regions, with Hari-River demonstrating superior characteristics across various metrics. Particularly noteworthy is Hari-River's lower clay content, superior gradation, and higher compressive strength compared to Kamar-Kalaq.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the October 2023 earthquake on the Zinda Jan district, focusing on the structural integrity of more than 2000 newly constructed buildings situated near fault lines. The specific objective is to identify any vulnerabilities in the design of these structures. Advanced computer analyses, including Linear and Non-linear (Push-over analysis) assessments using Etabs software, were employed to investigate the structural performance of the buildings. The analysis revealed significant insights into the structural integrity of the new constructions. It was observed that certain central columns exhibited inadequate strength, thereby posing a considerable risk of failure during seismic events. This vulnerability primarily stems from a disparity in strength between columns and beams, with the latter being stronger. This research contributes to the field by emphasizing the critical role of meticulous design and analysis in safeguarding buildings located in earthquake-prone regions.

Abstract

This research tackles the challenge of classifying truck vehicles using a comprehensive machine learning-based CNN algorithm approach. Initially, we collected a raw dataset of 560 images of various truck vehicles, which was expanded to 844 images through data augmentation techniques, including automatic orientation adjustments and resizing each image to 640x640 pixels. To achieve correct labeling for model training, the dataset underwent further refinement through thorough annotation. To determine which model was the most successful, a number of machine learning techniques were investigated and contrasted, including deep learning, support vector machines, and decision trees. The preprocessed dataset was used to optimize and train the selected model. We used measures like accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score to evaluate the model's performance. The results showed that our all-inclusive algorithmic strategy outperformed conventional techniques in effectively addressing the unique difficulties of truck vehicle categorization. This study concludes that integrating advanced machine learning techniques with domain-specific knowledge in transportation results in a robust and adaptive classification system, enhancing accuracy and paving the way for broader applications in the transportation and logistics industry.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of the Regional Library and Archives Office in enhancing the love of reading program through mobile libraries for elementary school students in South Tapanuli Regency, as well as the obstacles and challenges faced by the Regional Library and Archives Office in improving the love of reading program through mobile libraries for elementary school students in South Tapanuli Regency. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, and data is collected through direct observation and interviews with librarians. Sample selection is done using purposive sampling technique. The research results indicate that the stages of mobile library services in the implementation of the literacy movement activities are as follows: 1) Preparation stage, consisting of two steps, which are providing literacy materials and facilitator training. 2) Implementation stage, consisting of one step, which is through learning activities. 3) Evaluation/follow-up stage, consisting of one step, which involves conducting a national literacy Olympiad. Efforts to overcome the challenges faced by librarians in implementing mobile libraries include: 1) Human Resources, in this case, the staff. Efforts are made through collaboration with the existing Health and Safety Committees (K3S). Additionally, for mentors, efforts are made by working professionally. 2) Budget, efforts to address the lack of books involve cross-referencing books and applying for procurement or deposits. Efforts for teaching aids involve using the library staff's own resources. Addressing access equipment challenges is done by using any means available to transport books to locations that are not accessible by four-wheeled vehicles.

Abstract

Even if e-commerce has a huge potential to improve the welfare of MSMEs, its execution is not always flawless. Some MSMEs can still have trouble using technology due to a lack of knowledge about digital platforms and a shortage of information technology-savvy personnel. This is the reason why e-commerce and its potential to enhance the well-being of MSME trade families are of interest to scholars. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how E-commerce usage affects MSME traders' families' well-being. This study employs a quantitative descriptive methodology, utilizing questionnaire distribution and library data gathering approaches. This study use basic linear regression data analysis approaches to sample 46 MSME traders in the Tugu Utara Subdistrict area of North Jakarta. The study's findings indicate that using e-commerce can help MSME traders in North Jakarta's Tugu Utara Subdistrict raise their family income to a somewhat satisfactory degree. It is intended that this study's findings will aid in future investigations.
