There is no significant relationship between smoking habits (p=0.558), the level of lighting (p=0.028) and SBS symptoms. SBS symptoms are influenced by several factors, namely allergic history and temperature. Abstract

The incidence of DM in Indonesia according to the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2021 is 19.47 million. The Ministry of Health predicts an increase in the number of people with DM in Indonesia by 19.9% in 2030 to around 21.3 million. This can also be seen from the increasing incidence of DM at the Andalas Health Center in the city of Padang, in 2021 there were 819 people and in 2022 there were 823 people. One of the risk factors for an increase in blood sugar levels is a lack of physical activity and regular exercise, which causes an increase in blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of tai chi gymnastics on reducing blood sugar levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus at the Andalas Public Health Center in Padang City in 2023. The research design is called quantitative with a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-tests with cross-sectional. The population of people with diabetes mellitus from October-December 2022 is 370 people with a sample of 23 people. The research was conducted from March to August 2023. Data was collected using observation sheets and then analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Paired T-Test. The results showed that the average blood sugar level of patients before exercise was 259.61. The average blood sugar level after exercise is 244.48. Based on the statistical test, the p-value = 0.000 was obtained. Abstract

Adolescent pregnancy, especially in low- and middle-income countries, is a global concern with significant health implications for both mothers and infants. This research compares the effectiveness of two interventions, the Continuity of Midwifery Care (CoMC) model and the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Book, in enhancing family and spousal support for adolescent pregnant mothers. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, the study is conducted in Padang City over four months, involving 20 Independent Midwife Practices (IMP). Purposive sampling is employed based on specific criteria. Data collection utilizes questionnaires measuring family and spousal support in emotional, appreciation, instrumental, and informational dimensions, which underwent validation and reliability testing. Preliminary results indicate that both interventions improve family and spousal support, with the CoMC model showing greater efficacy. Appreciation support, emotional support, instrumental support, and informational support play crucial roles in positively impacting adolescent pregnant mothers' well-being. The CoMC model excels in delivering personalized care, emphasizing emotional support, providing practical assistance, and offering timely and relevant information. In conclusion, this study underscores the importance of family and spousal support in adolescent pregnancies and highlights the effectiveness of both interventions. The CoMC model stands out as a more comprehensive and personalized approach. Implementing this model in healthcare policies can significantly enhance care quality for pregnant adolescents, fostering a supportive environment for both mothers and infants.

Abstract

Family planning plays a central role in individual well-being and community development. In Indonesia, with a population of over 270 million people and rapid population growth, family planning has become increasingly important. Unmet Family Planning (FP) Needs in Indonesia remain high, which has serious implications for health and social development. This in-depth study explores the factors contributing to Unmet FP Needs and highlights the crucial role of community empowerment in addressing this issue. The research employs an exploratory qualitative approach, with in-depth interviews and focus group discussions as the primary data collection methods. The findings identify low knowledge of contraception, unsupportive attitudes, the influence of religious factors, and the role of husbands in family planning decisions as key factors. Additionally, limited access to FP services is also a significant barrier. To address these issues, more intensive education, awareness, and socialization efforts are needed, along with strong collaboration with religious leaders and involving husbands in family planning. Improving access to FP services, especially in remote areas, is also critically important. The findings of this study have significant policy implications for reducing Unmet FP Needs in Indonesia.
