Abstract

The increasing number of tourists in North Nias Regency has encouraged the writer to plan the design of resort hotels in North Nias Regency as a place to stay for local and foreign tourists. In designing a resort hotel, the author chooses a location that has attractive potential and is easily accessible to visitors. In North Nias Regency, there are 33 interesting tourist objects consisting of beaches, mountains, caves, and waterfalls that can be selected, including for the location of the site in the design of the hotel resort. The method used in the design of hotel resorts is descriptive analysis method, namely by carrying out several stages of analysis accompanied by a study of literature that supports the theory. This analysis uses qualitative analysis, namely collecting data in the form of detailed stories or actual conditions by surveying comparative study objects related to the design, and conducting site site surveys. The design of resort hotels in North Nias uses a design approach through contextual architecture. The shape of the building can relate to the site's environment, the condition of the surrounding buildings, society, culture, and materials in the local area. The application of contextual architecture also takes the surrounding design motifs such as mass forms, patterns and ornaments.

Abstract

High initial strength concrete technology is increasingly developing to meet modern projects requiring fast-hardening concrete. This research highlights the role of superplasticizers in achieving high initial strengths. Superplasticizers, and chemical additives, reduce water, accelerate hardening, and simplify concrete work. The compressive strength test method on cylindrical specimens was carried out at the age of 3, 7, and 28 days. Using 250 ml of superplasticizer per sack of cement, with water reduced by 40%, can achieve the quality of concrete f'c 25 MPa at 28 days old. The results showed that concrete with superplasticizer had higher initial compressive strength, increasing by 31.49% in 3 days, and 18.84% in 7 days compared to normal concrete. However, at 28 days old, compressive strength tends to be the same as normal concrete.

Abstract

The function of Ring Road is so that vehicles can reach certain parts of the city without having to go through the city center to speed up the journey. This study examines the overall traffic conditions to determine the performance of the roads and the level of service at the intersections along the Gagak Hitam ring road, Medan City. This study uses secondary data from a survey directly on the site and primary data. Peak hours are obtained on weekday afternoons at 17.00-18.00 WIB..Based on the results of the analysis, the largest value of the degree of saturation (DS) on the Gagak Hitam ring road in Medan City is 0.736 this still meets the eligibility requirements according to the standards set out in the 2014 Indonesian Road Capacity Pedoman (PKJI), which is below 0.75. Classification of the service level of the C road section where the road section is in a stable flow zone and the driver's speed selection is limited. The average delay value for signalized intersections is 51.32-59.76. Based on PM 96 of 2015 the delay value obtained is included in the category of service level of the E intersection with the condition of the delay value between 40.1 to 60 smp/sec and the performance of the intersection is bad classified.

Abstract

Sports in the country, especially in North Sumatra, still need special attention from leaders to find new talents and improve the achievements of athletes. Sport is part of social activity, its existence is no longer underestimated, sport is part of community activity. Sport is a form of refinement of Indonesian society that builds character and character, or discipline and sportsmanship, and produces achievements that increase national pride.... The purpose of this paper is to design a Sport Academy in Deli Sport City, North Sumatra by using the Neo Vernacular Architecture Approach Concept. The design focuses on the theme that has been determined and is included in the form and supporting facilities in the Sport Academy building. The results of this writing study can provide conclusions in designing the Sport Academy requires the form and application of themes in the design that can add visual value, so that it becomes an attraction for people to learn and hone their skills at the Sport Academy.

Abstract

Delays in construction projects often result in losses for construction actors, and can be caused by internal, external, and other factors such as natural, management, material, and environmental disasters. Research was conducted on the Java I Construction Suspension Bridge project, Serdang Bedagai Regency to evaluate delays in terms of cost and time. The goal is to evaluate the schedule of the project plan and implementation and find out the cause. Evaluation using the Earned Value Management method shows that project implementation tends to be slow, but costs are still below budget with an estimated Rp. 2,454,274,500,- and 36 weeks. Delays are caused by the engineering justification process, late delivery of bridge trusses, and instability of service provider cash flow. This research is expected to provide a reference for construction actors to anticipate delays in other projects.

Abstract

This study uses the method of value results (Earned Value). This study aims to determine or predict how much the cost of a project at the time of implementation and to determine the effectiveness of project control and to determine the efficiency of resource users in the form of Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI) as well as total project cost forecasts (EAC). To analyze project control, there are three parameters or indicators, namely BCWS (Budgeted Cost of Work Schedule), BCWP (Budgeted Cost of Work Performed), ACWP (Actual Cost of Work Performed). Delays and deviations can be identified by looking at the Cost Variant (CV) and Schedule Variant (SV). In the calculation of the concept, the value of the SV = -6.197.845.000 value (-) indicates that the work is running slower than the planned schedule, while the CV value = -232.750 value (-) indicates the work costs more than the budget provided. By calculating the estimated total project cost (EAC) of Rp. 15,755.722,795 while the RAB value is Rp. 15,345,000,000. this means that at the end of the project it is estimated that there will be a cost overrun of Rp.410.722.792 (2.67% of RAB).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the design of Mental Hospitals with appropriate facilities to support the healing of patients with mental disorders, especially schizophrenia. This study uses primary data from field surveys and secondary data from literature. Location selection is based on criteria of spatial planning, accessibility, and environmental conditions, with planning, site, and design analysis. The descriptive method ensures that the design supports the patient's recovery in a holistic manner as well as socially and technically relevant. The results of the study show that this study designed a Class B Mental Hospital in Medan Petisah, a strategic location in the trade and health center of Medan City, with an area of ±20,000 m². The design concept includes the management of sun, rain, wind, and vegetation to create a comfortable and healthy environment. Noise handling is carried out through strategic building placement and damping elements. The circulation system of people and vehicles is designed to be safe and efficient, with adequate parking space. The building uses a reinforced concrete structure with clear functional zones to support activities.

Abstract

A province on the island of Sumatra, specifically in the city of Medan,there is a very legendary club called the Medan Surrounding Football Association or what is often called PSMS Medan. PSMS Medan once achieved achievements and its glory days in the 1970s to 1980s, but after that PSMS Medan’s achievements declined until now and play league 2. The reason PSMS achievements have decreased is due to lack of facilities and lack of coaching, including the lack of field facilities for training. By planning a football training camp it can charge the views of the people of North Sumatra, especially the city of Medan.towards PSMS Medan due to its declining achievements in recent years. By designing a quality football training ground to improve the quality of PSMS Medan players. The design process uses post modern architectural principles with the robert ventury appoach applied to the shape of the building and the appearance of the building. The author chose robert ventury’s post modern architectural appoach in designing the Football Training Camp so that the shape of the buildings arround the site directly reflects the function of the building.

Abstract

Earthquakes often cause casualties and damage to buildings, hence the importance of calculating the planned load in the design of the structure. Linear analysis is commonly used, but is considered less accurate for understanding the behavior of structures in response to large earthquakes. Therefore, non-linear analyses such as the pushover method, which apply a gradual lateral force to a building until it reaches a specific collapse pattern to understand the structural response to a large earthquake, are needed. The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum earthquake force that can be accepted by the BRI Sisingamangaraja building in Medan, resulting in the capacity and performance limits of the building. This pushover analysis uses the Sap 2000 program, from the results of the analysis it is known that the greater the force given, the greater the displacement that occurs in the building. The BRI KC Sisingamangaraja Medan building can receive a maximum earthquake force of 7,149,921 kN and based on ATC-40 the building's performance limit is in the category of Immediate occupancy (IO) level, which means that the building can be used immediately or used after an earthquake.

Abstract

In the construction of the Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road Phase I (Zone 1), the carrying capacity of the soil is very important for the success of construction. The bearing capacity of the soil was tested using DCP and Field CBR tools.  The purpose of this study is to obtain soil carrying capacity based on the results of the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) test using the DCP tool and the results of the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test using the CBR tool on the subgrade soil. Meanwhile, the methods used in this study are SNI, AASHTO T 193 and ASTM D 1883 methods. From the results of the calculation of the DCP test, the average CBR score was 6.16%. And the results of the calculation of the field CBR test obtained a maximum average CBR value of 6.43%. Based on the AASHTO T 193 and ASTM D 1883 methods, it meets the requirements. Because the CBR value obtained is more than 6%. With the average CBR value, it meets the requirements. So the soil does not require compaction and the work can be continued to the landfill work (borrowed material).
