TERBENTUKNYA CITRA DALAM KONTEKS SUASANA RUANG Hidjaz, Taufan

This essays indicated the relation between the arrangement of spatial elements and the formation of room image with the space from the people interacting in it. Interaction among individuals with the space and its surrounding is a psychological problem. The psychological interaction is begun with the stimulus acceptance and than processing by cognition system. The acceptance of stimulus in the cognition system is simultaneous with the complexity of motivation process, creating influence on two aspects; i.e. inward, creating image to the space; outward, realized in the behavioral pattern. Both are individual personality responses to stimulus created by space and surrounding atmosphere. The arrangement of physical elements of space has a certain quality, creates spatial atmosphere and it is the realization of signs as medium to transfer meaningful values. The meaning trasferred is shown by arrangement of elements which is capable of formation connotatively related to the building in their own images. Image which is percepted by observer in a condition which affects it by vaque characters named as 'spatial atmosphere'. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Tulisan ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara susunan unsur-unsur ruang dengan terbentuknya citra ruang dengan orang-orang yang berinteraksi di dalamnya. Interaksi antara individu dengan ruang dan lingkungannya merupakan masalah psikologis. Interaksi secara psikologis diawali oleh penerimaan stimulus kemudian diolah oleh sistem kognisi. Penerimaan stimulus oleh sistem kognisi bersama-sama dengan kompleksitas proses motivasi, akan memberikan pengaruh pada dua hal yaitu membentuk citra ruang dan pola tingkah laku. Keduanya merupakan respons kepribadian individu terhadap rangsang-rangsang yang diberikan oleh suasana ruang dan lingkungan. Susunan unsur fisik elemen ruang memiliki kualitas tertentu yang akan membangun suasana ruang dan merupakan pengejawantahan tanda, sebagai medium untuk mentransfer nilai-nilai yang bermakna. Makna yang ditransfer ditunjukkan oleh penyusunan unsur-unsurnya yang mampu membentuk secara konotatif hubungan dengan bangunannya, sehingga pengamat atau orang lain akan mengenalnya dalam citra tersendiri. Citra dipersepsi pengamat dalam satu kondisi yang pengaruhinya bersifat samar-samar dan disebut sebagai suasana ruang atau 'atmosphere'. Kata kunci : desain interior, citra, suasana ruang.

Pipa PVC adalah bahan bangunan yang sangat umum digunakan dalam instalasi plumbing di seluruh dunia sejak tahun 1930. Dengan karakter fisik yang ringan, kuat, fleksibel, tahan terhadap kebocoran dan korosi, serta mudah dari segi perakitan, sifat fisik pipa PVC ini sangat potensial digunakan dalam perancangan elemen pembentuk dan pengisi ruang interior dengan prinsip â€œrepurposingâ€. Dalam perancangan ini terdapat 2 pokok masalah yang diangkat yakni bagaimana potensi pipa PVC dalam perancangan elemen pembentuk dan pengisi ruang interior dan apa saja kekurangan dan kelebihan dari rancangan elemen pembentuk dan pengisi ruang interior yang menggunakanÂ pipaÂ PVCÂ sebagaiÂ bahanÂ utamanyaÂ jikaÂ ditinjauÂ dariÂ sifatÂ materialÂ pipaÂ PVC,Â penerapanÂ sistemÂ mekanis,Â dan modularnya.Â MetodeÂ yangÂ digunakanÂ adalahÂ designÂ thinkingÂ denganÂ tahapan:Â inspirationÂ (understand,Â observe,Â danÂ P.O.V.), ideation (ideate, prototype, dan test), implementation (story telling, pilot, dan business model). Perancangan ini menghasilkan 5 desain produk interior (chair, office table, coffee table, partisi, dan stacking rack). Kelima produk ini dapat membuktikan potensi pipa PVC dari segi sifat material dan penerapan sistemnya. Kelebihan yang teridentifikasi adalah:Â waktu pembuatan yang singkat serta sistemÂ mekanisÂ danÂ modularÂ yangÂ dapatÂ diaplikasikanÂ denganÂ sambunganÂ danÂ tabungÂ pipaÂ PVC.Â Kekurangan yang teridentifikasi adalah aplikasi sistem dan proses perakitan yang kurang bisa presisi.

The goal of the process of interior designing is to solve the complex problems related to the respond of human towards space. An appropriate design concept is needed to solve the problems integrally. The success of the design concept depends on the approach of development process. The conceptual approach can be developed by first understanding some points%2C such as: the component of design knowledge%2C the scheme of analytical designing%2C the mapping of the way of thinking of design%2C the methodology of design approach%2C that are all then finalized by the formulation of the design concept. By understanding those points%2C a complex design problem can be simplified into a clear and systematic classification and hence%2C an exact design concept can be processed easily. Finally%2C the precise design concept will be capable of integrating the result of design into a complete unimpaired one. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Proses perancangan interior bertujuan untuk memecahkan masalah yang kompleks berkaitan dengan respon manusia terhadap ruang. Untuk dapat memecahkan masalah secara utuh maka diperlukan sebuah konsep perancangan yang tepat. Keberhasilan konsep perancangan tergantung pada pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam proses penyusunannya. Pendekatan konseptual dapat dibangun dengan cara memahami beberapa hal%2C meliputi: komponen pemahaman desain%2C skema perancangan analitis%2C pemetaan pola pikir desain%2C metode pendekatan desain%2C dan diakhiri dengan perumusan konsep desain. Dengan memahami hal-hal tersebut maka sebuah permasalahan desain yang kompleks dapat disederhanakan ke dalam klasifikasi yang jelas dan sistematis%2C sehingga proses penyusunan konsep perancangan yang tepat dapat dilakukan dengan lebih mudah. The concept of participational design is a concept that considers social behavior. This consideration can be seen as the base of participational relationship between the user and the design process and would be the main consideration in the design created. The concept of participational design in the interior space of autist children's therapy room highly considers the autist child's character and the method of therapy executed so that the criteria and space needed can meet the demand of austist children. The physical environment suitable for the condition of the user can bring great influence to the therapy activity. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Konsep desain partisipasi merupakan sebuah konsep yang mempertimbangkan perilaku sosial, pertimbangan tersebut akan terlihat sebagai titik tolak hubungan partisipasi antar pengguna dalam proses desain dan akan menjadi pertimbangan utama dalam perwujudan desain yang diciptakannya. Konsep desain partisipasi dalam interior ruang terapi perilaku anak autis sangat mempertimbangkan karakter anak dan metode terapi yang digunakan sehingga kriteria dan perwujudan ruang yang dibutuhkan dapat memenuhi tuntutan anak autis. Pada masa kanak-kanak, minat merupakan sumber motivasi yang kuat untuk belajar. Minat besar pengaruhnya terhadap aktivitas belajar. Kurangnya minat belajar dapat mengakibatkan kurangnya rasa ketertarikan pada suatu bidang tertentu. Bila anak-anak berminat pada suatu kegiatan, pengalaman mereka akan jauh lebih menyenangkan daripada bila mereka merasa bosan. Elemen interior berperan menciptakan suasana ruang sesuai dengan fungsinya, juga untuk menunjang semangat dan minat belajar anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran desain interior Taman Kanak-kanak Kristen Petra 7 Surabaya dalam menunjang minat belajar siswa. Inpatient rooms in Dutch colonial heritage hospitals have some unique physical characteristics related to lighting, such as the height of the building structure and the use of terazzo for wall and floor finishing. These characteristics cause the atmosphere of the hospital to appear bleak since the amount of lighting illumination in the rooms is not fulfilled. The purpose of this research is to analyze and find solutions for optimal lighting design by taking the case of the upper-class wards in two Dutch colonial hospitals in Surabaya: the RS Darmo and the SSR St. Vincentius A Paulo. The first step is observation and measurement using Lightmeter LX-103 to determine the amount of turning on the instrument room, followed by verification and simulation optimization using a computer program of DIALux v.4.6. The analysis showed that the lighting conditions on the wards at both hospitals have not met the optimum standards. Thus, there are several ways to optimize light levels, including: the replacement of materials and colors of the walls and floors with brighter colors, decreasing the ceiling height using a drop ceiling, replacement of the colors of the furniture with brighter colors, and the use of 28-36W fluorescent lamp and soft white 26W down lighting.

The concept of participation design in the interior of a therapy room for autistic behavior in children truly considers the character of children with autism and methods of therapy used so that the criteria and the embodiment of space can meet the demands of autistic children. The physical environment that is suitable with the condition of the user can bring great influence to the therapy activities. The purpose of this research is to implement the design concept of participation as the basis in designing the interior of the therapy room for autistic children. The concept of participation design is implemented in the furniture arrangement, space-forming elements and the furniture.

The probelms of global warming and energy crisis have led to the birth of industrial product innovations that continues to grow, especially in the areas close to the use of fossil fuels. Combining those phenomena, one of the ideas that can be extracted from the interior and architectural designsâ€™ point of view is Refunctioned Container building. Due to the high intensity of sun light and humidity, Indonesia is one of the countries that have started applying this idea. The objective of this paper is to describe the applied efforts of refunctioned containers at Taman Baca Amin Batu as a public library, on the basis of a qualitative research which has an explorative nature. Findings reveal that the treatments of the use of containers are different from other conventional materials, that are applied not only on the space enclosure elements; floors, walls and ceilings, but also in the material selection and use of energy (ventilation and lighting).

The successful of human healing process is a complexity which is connected between fisiological condition and psychological condition (inner mind) of human being. Both of them have contribution in healing process. To support the patient's psychological condition, it needs to be created a healt and comfort environment, in term psychologically can give positive support for healing process. Interior design in hospital is a made-environment which its existence has a direc relationshipwith patient. By element of design for example color, it can be created an environment or atmosphere of space which supports healing process. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Keberhasilan proses penyembuhan manusia merupakan kompleksitas yang terjalin antara kondisi fisiologis dengan kondisi psikologis (inner mind) manusia. Keduanya mempunyai kontribusi dalam proses penyembuhan. Untuk mendukung kondisi psikologis pasien perlu diciptakan lingkungan yang menyehatkan, nyaman, dalam arti secara psikologis lingkungan memberikan dukungan positif bagi proses penyembuhan. Desain interior dalam rumah sakit merupakan lingkungan binaan yang keberadaannya berhubungan langsung dengan pasien. Melalui elemen-elemen desain seperti warna, dapat diciptakan sebuah lingkungan atau suasana ruang yang dapat mendukung proses penyembuhan. Kata kunci : warna, desain interior, proses penyembuhan.
