Abstract

Unemployment is a macroeconomic problem that hinders regional development and gives rise to other social problems. West Jawa Province is the province with the highest open unemployment rate in Indonesia. Various factors contribute to this problem, so this research aims to explore the influence of the Minimum Wage and Economic Growth. This research uses secondary data 18 regencies and 9 cities in West Jawa Province and uses dynamic panel data regression analysis. The results of the study show that the results of the study show that when the minimum wage increases above the equilibrium, the demand for labor will decrease and the unemployment rate will increase. When economic growth increases, the demand for labor will increase which will ultimately reduce the unemployment rate.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of minimum wage, GRDP, inflation, education and COVID-19 dummy variables on labor deployment in Malang City. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression methods with the Stata 14 program. The data used are time series from 1993-2022 in Malang City. The results showed that the minimum wage has a positive and significant effect on labor absorption. Education level has a significant and negative effect on labor absorption. GRDP and Inflation have no significant effect on labor absorption. For COVID-19 dummy on employment, it has a negative and insignificant effect during the COVID-19 pandemic

The objective of the study was to find out the relationship between income, consumption, housing conditions, accommodation facilities, family members' health, access to health services, children's access to education, and access to transport facilities to the well-being of fishermen's households, both simultaneously and partially. The method used in this research uses associative descriptive methods. The study used 91 as a sample of the study using double linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing in this study uses test-F and test-t statistics. The statistical analytics process uses the SPSS for Windows 25 program. According to the results of the study, the influence of income, consumption, housing conditions, accommodation facilities, the health of family members, access to health services, children's education, and access to transport facilities on the well-being of fishermen's households, carried out with a determination coefficient analysis, has an impact of 0.998 or 99.8%, i.e. income, consumer, conditions of housing, accommodations, family members' health, health of health services access, child education access, and transport facility access have an effect of 99.8% on fisherman's welfare and the remaining 0.2% is influenced by other factors not studied by the author.

Abstract

This study attempts to examine the effect of corruption on income inequality in Indonesia. The study uses the gini ratio as a proxy for income inequality, serving as the dependent variable. The corruption perception index is used as a proxy for corruption, while several control variables such as economic growth, taxes, and foreign direct investment act as independent variables. Using the multiple linear regression method with time-series data, the results of this study show that the corruption perception index has a positive and significant impact on income inequality. These results indicate a tendency for the "grease the wheel" effect of corruption on income inequality in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of economic growth, education, and unemployment rates on poverty in Indonesia. While numerous studies have explored these relationships, this research aims to fill the gap by utilizing recent data and the Random Effect model for panel data analysis. The objective is to understand how these variables influence poverty levels and to provide relevant policy recommendations. The methodology includes t-statistics to test the partial effects and F-statistics to test the simultaneous effects of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The findings indicate that economic growth does not significantly affect poverty, whereas education and unemployment rates have significant impacts. The conclusions suggest the importance of income redistribution policies, improving access to and quality of education, and job creation in reducing poverty. This research contributes by highlighting the crucial roles of education and unemployment in the context of poverty alleviation in Indonesia and proposes evidence-based policies to support more inclusive development.

Abstract

Development is a multidimensional process involving transformations in social, economic, infrastructure, norms, and institutional fields with the primary goal of improving the standard of living of the people. One common issue found in the development process is the disparity that occurs due to high economic growth not being accompanied by equitable distribution. Java Island, with its superior contribution to the national economy and an economic growth rate that exceeds the national growth, is not exempt from experiencing development disparities. The purpose of this research is to analyze the variables suspected to influence development disparity in six (6) provinces in Java Island, namely DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java for the years 2014-2023. The variables used are Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Domestic Direct Investment (DDI), Human Development Index (HDI), capital expenditure, and economic growth. The research method employed is the Williamson Index and panel data regression. The research results indicate that the variable of capital expenditure has a positive effect and economic growth has a negative effect on development disparity. Meanwhile, FDI, DDI, and HDI do not affect development disparity.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of job embeddedness on organizational citizenship behavior among workers in Banyuwangi Regency in 2024. Job embeddedness includes employees' connections with the organization, value congruence, and personal sacrifices to remain employed. Organizational citizenship behavior refers to individual contributions that exceed formal job requirements, such as helping colleagues and participating in organizational activities. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach. Data were collected from a sample of workers in Banyuwangi Regency and analyzed using statistical techniques. The results showed that job embeddedness significantly influences organizational citizenship behavior. Employees who feel attached to their jobs tend to be more active and contribute more to organizational activities. The implications of this research highlight the importance for organizational management to enhance job embeddedness to promote positive organizational citizenship behavior. Abstract

This research aims to measure the extent of consumer demand changes for online transportation services in Malang City following a tariff increase and to identify the factors influencing the demand for these services. This research utilized a quantitative approach and was analyzed through the wilcoxon test and multiple linear regression analysis. The findings reveal significant changes in consumer demand after the tariff hike. Specifically, the variable of online transportation service tariffs shows a positive and significant influence. Income demonstrates a positive but insignificant effect, while the variables of conventional transportation services tariffs and travel speed each indicate a negative influence that is not significant and significant, respectively, on the demand for online transportation services. Based on these findings, it is crucial for online transportation service companies to maintain comfort and security, as these factors are top priorities for consumers in choosing transportation services. Additionally, the government can contribute to maintaining operational stability for companies, ensuring safety for users, and overall stability in the transportation ecosystem.

Abstract

During the period of 2014-2023, Indonesia government set a target for average economic growth of 5.2% for 2014-2020 and 6% for 2020-2025. In order to achieve that, the fiscal policy adopted by the government is by utilizing debt. Based on Keynesian view, the government can incur debt to finance government budget deficits and stimulate economic growth. This research employs the ordinary least squares (OLS) method because it seeks to analyze the relationship between the variables of quarterly increase of GDP, quarterly increase of domestic debt growth, and quarterly foreign debt. Based on the estimation results of the model conducted in the research,  the result show that the variables of quarterly domestic debt growth and quarterly foreign debt growth can only explain a 14.49% increase in quarterly GDP value. Simultaneously, domestic debt and foreign debt do not affect economic growth. Partially, an increase per quarter in domestic debt has a significant negative effect on the increase in quarterly GDP value, while an increase per quarter in foreign debt has a positive but not significant effect on the increase of quarterly GDP value.

Abstract

Despite being the economic and governmental center, the number of impoverished people in Java Island exceeds half of the total impoverished population in Indonesia. Based on this, this research aims to examine the determinants influencing poverty in Java Island, covering 6 provinces during the period 2015-2022, based on the perspectives of pro-poor growth theory and human capital. The data used is sourced from BPS and employs panel data analysis techniques with a fixed-effect model. The research findings indicate that, individually, education and unemployment do not have a significant impact on poverty. Meanwhile, economic growth and the Human Development Index (HDI) have a negative and significant impact on poverty in Java Island. Simultaneously, economic growth, education, HDI, and unemployment collectively influence poverty in Java Island.
