Abstract

This community service initiative addresses the outstanding Land and Building Tax (PBB) receivables at the Regional Revenue Agency (BAPENDA) of North Tapanuli Regency, which has become a significant obstacle to optimizing Regional Original Revenue (PAD) realization. The initiative aims to identify factors hindering PBB receivable collection effectiveness, analyze critical points of prevailing issues, and formulate applicable strategies to enhance collection performance. Methods employed include field observations, technical staff mentoring, and arrears data analysis using Excel software. Findings indicate that collection process barriers are influenced by two primary factors: internal and external. Internal factors include limited human resources, lack of integrated database systems, and inadequate information technology infrastructure. External factors encompass community socio-economic conditions, geographical constraints, and low taxpayer legal awareness. Based on these findings, several strategic measures are recommended: strengthening information systems and databases, enhancing personnel capacity, implementing public education programs, and optimizing inter-agency coordination. Implementation of these strategies is expected to reduce PBB receivables and improve regional financial management accountability.

Abstract

Tourism village development through Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) serves as a key strategy for rural economic empowerment. Klampitan Village, Purwoasri District, Kediri Regency, encounters several obstacles including limited human resource capacity, weak digital promotion, and lack of systematic spatial planning for BUMDes development. The community service program aimed to design a BUMDes site plan as a guideline for physical tourism area development and to enhance digital promotion capacity. A qualitative participatory approach was employed through the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) framework for village asset mapping, complemented by SWOT analysis for strategy formulation. Implementation took place from July to August 2025, involving 10 key informants through observation, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Data validation was conducted using source triangulation and member checking. The program produced a conceptual BUMDes site plan comprising 11 main sections with economic, social, educational, and recreational functions. Additionally, official BUMDes social media accounts were established as digital promotion channels. Evaluation showed 92% community participation and improved capabilities of MSME actors in utilizing social media for product marketing. These achievements demonstrate that the program not only generated initial plans and facilitation but also established institutional foundations and human resource capacity for sustainable BUMDes management. The resulting site plan and digital enhancement function as initial instruments supporting the acceleration of Klampitan Village toward becoming a tourism village in 2026.

Abstract

Hiyung chili is a horticultural commodity with high economic value, but its productivity still fluctuates due to cultivation constraints and dependence on synthetic chemical fertilizers. This activity aims to increase farmer capacity and plant growth of Hiyung chili through the application of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) based on banana peel waste enriched with Trichoderma sp. The activity was carried out in Sungai Hanyar Village using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through socialization, training, practice, and field mentoring. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test methods to measure changes in knowledge, attitudes, and skills of participants. The results showed an increase in farmer capacity from 50% to 84.67% after the activity. Improvements occurred in the understanding of LOF, acceptance of organic fertilizer technology, and technical skills in its manufacture. The application of LOF also showed better plant growth compared to the control. The use of banana peel waste as LOF has the potential to be an environmentally friendly and sustainable fertilizer alternative.

Abstract

Uric acid disease (gout) remains a prevalent metabolic health issue, particularly among adults and the elderly. Low awareness of early detection and limited knowledge regarding risk factors are major obstacles to preventing complications. This community service activity aimed to improve public understanding and conduct early screening of uric acid levels in Gedong Tataan District, Lampung Province. The implementation methods included health education through interactive lectures and discussions, digital uric acid testing, and knowledge evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments. Fifty participants attended the activity, predominantly aged 51–60 years. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge, with the average score rising from 35.6 in the pre-test to 88.3 in the post-test (p-value = 0.00). The screening identified several residents with uric acid levels above the normal threshold. This activity proved effective as a promotive and preventive effort to encourage healthy lifestyle changes and increase community awareness regarding the importance of routine health monitoring to prevent gout complications.

Abstract

Low levels of financial literacy and poor financial management practices are still the main problems faced by micro, small and medium enterprises that are based on community and religious organizations. Problems with unorganized financial recording systems, in addition to the inability to separate business from personal finances, are obstacles to obtaining financing as well as making appropriate business decisions. The community service program is intended to improve the financial management capacity of micro, small and medium enterprises based at the Al-Muhajirat Mosque Taklim Assembly in Biring Romang Village, Makassar City through practical training on basic accounting. The method used is lectures, tutorials, and discussions tailored to the needs of partners with a participatory approach. The evaluation was carried out using participatory observation, case studies as well as post-training assessments to measure the effectiveness of the program. The results showed a significant increase in participants' ability to record transactions, implement a simple accounting cycle, and separate business from personal finances. Participants can also prepare basic financial reports for decision-making purposes. This program strengthens MSMEs' readiness for more accountable, transparent, and sustainable financial management.

Abstract

Children's dependence on digital devices has become a serious issue affecting their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Low levels of digital parenting literacy within families further worsen the situation, necessitating interventions focused on empowering parents through systematic educational approaches. The community service activity aimed to enhance families' capacity to manage healthy device use through a Parenting School program implemented in Kampung Bojong Neros. The method employed was a participatory approach consisting of preparation, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up stages. The program involved 15 families (15 parents and 15 school-aged children) conducted over three consecutive days through educational sessions and collaborative family practices. Quantitative evaluation revealed a significant increase in parents' understanding scores from 48% to 82%, while children's scores increased from 55% to 97%. Beyond knowledge improvement, positive behavioral changes were identified, including implementation of device-use rules at home, increased digital discipline, and greater interest among children in more constructive alternative activities. The parenting school proved effective in strengthening digital parenting literacy and reducing device dependency through active family engagement. The program offers opportunities for broader development through continued mentoring and strengthened community networks to ensure impact sustainability.
