Abstract

Maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation is crucial to prevent infections in the reproductive system. Many young women still have limited knowledge regarding proper hygiene practices during menstruation. This lack of awareness can lead to health issues, such as infections in the reproductive tract and other complications. An effective educational approach is needed to enhance the understanding of young women, one of which could be through animated video content. Animated videos as an educational tool have the advantage of delivering information in a visually engaging, simple, and easy-to-understand manner, making them more effective in improving knowledge about personal hygiene during menstruation. This study aims to assess the impact of animated video education on female students' knowledge of personal hygiene during menstruation. The research follows a quantitative approach with a One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test pre-experimental design. The study sample consisted of 32 seventh-grade female students, selected through the total sampling technique. Data analysis included both univariate and bivariate analysis. For bivariate analysis, a normality test was performed using the Wilcoxon test with a significance level (α) ≤ 0.05. The study results showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of animated video education on the knowledge of personal menstrual hygiene among female students.

Abstract

A hernia is a protrusion of the abdominal wall into another body cavity (hip or pelvis, chest or thorax). One of the procedures performed in cases of hernia is surgery called herniorrhaphy. Surgery is an invasive treatment procedure through incisions to open the part of the body that will be treated surgically, which will cause pain. The pain felt after surgery is acute pain. Acute pain can complicate the healing process which can hinder the patient's ability to mobilize, rehabilitate and be hospitalized. One of the non-pharmacological therapies used to reduce pain is finger-hold relaxation therapy. Finger grip relaxation is a simple technique that combines breathing and holding a hand on each finger which can help control emotions and stress. It is hoped that this method can stimulate the brain to produce positive hormones and reduce cortisol secretion so that pain is reduced. Finger grip therapy intervention can help patients reduce the scale of pain felt after surgery. The case study used a descriptive method with a nursing process approach which was carried out on 3 respondents aged 67 - 76 using a One Group Pretest Posttest research design which was measured using the NRS instrument for 3 days. The results showed that there was a decrease in the pain scale in respondents after being given finger grip relaxation therapy.

Abstract

Mental disorder is a condition where a person considers himself/herself to be isolated from his/her surroundings, fails in his/her business, cannot control his/her emotions, and makes a person feel threatened, disturbed, or uncomfortable so that he/she changes his/her behavior, one of which is marked by sensory perception disorders of hallucinations. This case study aims to determine the effect of hallucination management with the implementation of reading the Qur'an on patients with unspecified schizophrenia in the Srikandi ward of Dr. Arif Zainuddin Mental Hospital, Surakarta City.: The design of this scientific paper uses a case study design. The subjects used were 5 (five) subjects. Data analysis was carried out by looking at changes before and after being given Qur'an reading therapy. The results of the application showed that after the implementation of Qur'an reading therapy, there was a decrease in signs of hallucination symptoms. Qur'an reading therapy can help reduce signs of symptoms and manage hallucinations in patients with unspecified schizophrenia. It is expected that nurses can provide psychiatric nursing care to hallucinatory patients by implementing the activity of reading the Qur'an consistently or repeatedly while undergoing treatment in the hospital and when returning home.

Abstract

Bronchopneumonia is an infectious disease that attacks the lower respiratory system, including the bronchioles and alveoli, charactherized by the presence of spots or patches on the lung lobes caused by Staphylococcus aereus bacteria in mild cases and followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae in severe cases. On of the non-pharmacological therapies for bronchopneumonia is peppermint aromatherapy and benson relaxation therapy. Peppermint aromatherapy has the effect of relieving the nose and making breathing easier combined with the benson relaxation technique which ultimately effects oxygen saturation. This study aims to determine the effect of administering peppermint aromatherapy and benson relaxation therapy on oxygen saturation levels in bronchopneumonia patients. This study used a quasi experimental design with a one group pre-post test design, involving 17 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results of this study showed that there was a difference in oxygen saturation before and after the intervention with a p-value of 0.0001 < 0.05. The administration of peppermint aromatherapy and benson relaxation therapy influences the increase in oxygen saturation of broncopneumonia patients at RSI Sultan Agung Semarang.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious health issue that significantly impacts children's growth and development, increasing the risk of diseases, brain development disorders, as well as motor and cognitive delays. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Stunting Risk Awareness Health Education Package (Skoring) in improving mothers' knowledge and attitudes toward stunting prevention at the Bandarharjo Public Health Center. This research employs a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, involving 53 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The intervention was carried out by providing health education related to stunting to mothers with toddlers. The findings indicate a significant increase in mothers' knowledge and attitudes after receiving the education. The average knowledge score increased to 16.00, while 84.9% of respondents demonstrated a positive attitude toward stunting prevention. Statistical analysis also confirmed a significant effect with a p-value of 0.000, indicating that the health education provided played a crucial role in enhancing mothers' awareness and knowledge about stunting. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that health education is effective in improving mothers' understanding and awareness of stunting prevention. Therefore, healthcare professionals are encouraged to be more proactive in providing education to the community in order to reduce stunting rates and ensure optimal child growth and development.

Abstract

The knowledge of pregnant women about nutrition plays a crucial role in the utilization of food ingredients. One of the efforts to address stunting is by consuming foods that contain vitamin A, such as chicken liver. This correlational analytical study determined the correlation between pregnant women's knowledge of vitamin A and the use of chicken liver as a nutrient in stunting prevention with a retrospective approach. The population in this study consists of pregnant women in trimester I visiting the Kedungmundu Public Health Care, with a total of 70 people. The research instruments are a cognitive level questionnaire and a food frequency questionnaire. The analysis was the Spearman Rank correlation test. This study shows that pregnant women in the Kedungmundu Health Centre area did not take chicken liver as a source of nutrition for pregnant women in preventing stunting due to low cognition about vitamin A, with a p-value of 0.047 (p-value < 0.05), indicating a strong correlation between the level of knowledge about vitamin A and the administration of chicken liver as a source of nutrition for pregnant women in preventing childhood stunting, with a very strong correlation (r = 0.257). Health education and mass media encourage pregnant women to actively expand their knowledge. The researcher anticipates that a comprehensive understanding of vitamin A's benefits will spur a rise in chicken liver consumption, thereby contributing significantly to efforts to prevent stunting
