Abstract

Spinal anesthesia or Block (SAB) is one of the regional anesthesia techniques, which is one technique to obtain analgesia as high as certain dermatons and relax skeletal muscles by injecting spinal anesthesia drugs into the subarachnoid space of the block. One of the complications that can occur is Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). PONV can be caused by many factors, one of which is the length of fasting. Preanesthesia fasting about 6-8 hours before surgery is performed as an effort to minimize the incidence of aspiration of stomach contents or nausea and vomiting. Objective:Determine the relationship between the length of fasting and the incidence of nausea and vomiting in post-spinal anesthesia. This type of research is an observational study with a Cross-sectional research design. The population in this study is all patients who will undergo spinal anesthesia in the IBS room of RSUD Kab. Batang. Sampling in this study was using the Purposive Sampling method of 49 samples and using the Spearman Rank analysis test. The research instrument uses observation sheets. The age of most respondents in this study was 36-40 years as many as 26 respondents (53.1%), the most gender is women 32 respondents (65.3%), and those who experienced the most fasting length of 2-6 hours with 30 respondents (61,3%), while PONV as many as 29 respondents (59.2%). Based on the results of the Spearman Rank test to determine the relationship between the length of fasting and the incidence of Post Operative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV) obtained a result of 0.007 (P0.5). The majority of respondents who did not experience PONV were 14 respondents (28.6%). There is a significant relationship between the length of fasting and the incidence of Post Operative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV).

Abstract

Breast milk (ASI) is the first, main and best food in the early stages of a baby's life that is natural. ASI is like gold given for free by God because ASI is a living fluid that can adjust its substance content that can meet the nutritional needs of babies. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) until 2020, only around 44% of babies worldwide aged 0-6 months received exclusive ASI. This is not in accordance with the WHO target in 2025, which is to increase the provision of exclusive ASI in the first 6 months to at least 50% (WHO, 2020). The coverage of exclusive ASI according to Regency/City in 2022 can be seen from the data reported by Central Aceh Regency with the highest coverage of 82.34% and the lowest is Sabang City at only 22.43%. This study aims to identify the Relationship between Knowledge of Breastfeeding Mothers and Exclusive Breastfeeding at BPM Siti Fujiana, East Aceh Regency in 2024. This study used a Cross Sectional design, the research time was May-June 2024, with a population and sample of 46 people. The sampling technique used total sampling, the analysis test used the Chi Square Test. The majority of respondents were aged 20-35 years as many as 26 respondents (56.5%), the majority of respondents had secondary education (junior high school-high school) as many as 32 respondents (69.6%), the majority of respondents did not work as many as 37 respondents (80.4%), and the majority of breastfeeding mothers with grandemultipara status as many as 27 respondents (58.7%). There is a significant relationship between Knowledge of Breastfeeding Mothers and Exclusive Breastfeeding at BPM Siti Fujiana, East Aceh Regency with a p value <0.05 (0.003). This means that the better the mother's knowledge, the more Exclusive Breastfeeding will be implemented.

Abstract

Antenatal Care (ANC) examination is a series of activities carried out from conception until before the labor process begins, which is aimed at all pregnant women. Coverage of antenatal care visits is still low, which can increase maternal and neonatal complications as well as maternal and child deaths caused by high-risk pregnancies that are not immediately treated. In 2023, the highest birth assistance process by traditional midwives was in Gayo Lues Regency at 4.42 percent and Southeast Aceh Regency at 4.32 percent. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women and the frequency of antenatal care visits at BPM Syukriah, Langsa City, Aceh Province in 2024. This study used a Cross Sectional design, the research time was May-June 2024, with a population and sample of 34 people. The sampling technique used total sampling, the analysis test used the Chi Square Test. The majority of respondents who had poor knowledge and had an incomplete history of antenatal care visits were 16 people (47.1%), while the majority of respondents who had good knowledge and had a complete history of antenatal care visits were 9 people (26.5%). There is a significant relationship between the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women with antenatal care visits at BPM Syukhriah, Langsa City, Aceh Province with a p value <0.05 (0.001).

Abstract

Tooth extraction often triggers anxiety in patients due to the use of invasive medical instruments. Anxiety management can be addressed pharmacologically or non-pharmacologically. Aromatherapy using red ginger essential oil (Gingiber Officinale var. Rubrum) is a non-pharmacological method that has the potential to reduce anxiety effectively. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of red ginger essential oil in reducing the anxiety levels of patients undergoing tooth extraction. This quasi-experimental study employed a pretest-posttest design on 96 tooth extraction patients at RSKDGM Makassar. Anxiety levels were measured using the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS) questionnaire before and after inhaling red ginger essential oil aromatherapy for 10 minutes. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with SPSS 26. The results showed a significant decrease in patients' anxiety levels after inhalation of red ginger essential oil aromatherapy. Before the intervention, the majority of patients had moderate anxiety (58.3%), while after the intervention, mild anxiety increased to 59.4% (p-value = 0.000). Red ginger essential oil (Gingiber Officinale var. Rubrum) is effective in reducing patients' anxiety during tooth extraction procedures.

Abstract

Mother's milk (ASI) has an important role in increasing the baby's immune system and baby's weight. Breast milk production that is not strong enough causes the baby's needs to not be fulfilled and the failure of exclusive breastfeeding. Based on a survey conducted by the research and development agency in the field of Health, it was found that 46% of the inability to breastfeed occurred due to lack of breast care, 25% due to the frequency of breastfeeding less than 8x/day, 14% due to newborns (LBW), 10% premature, and 5% due to acute or chronic disease. The decrease in breast milk production during the puerperium can be caused by a lack of stimulation of the hormones prolactin and oxytocin which play a very important role in the smooth production of breast milk. Marmet massage and oxytocin massage are safe ways to stimulate the breasts to produce more milk.

Abstract

CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis need to manage fluid restrictions, fluid restrictions trigger thirst and cause hypervolemia which can worsen the patient's condition. The intervention of sucking ice cubes or slimmer ice can help reduce thirst and help patients manage fluids. The aim of this scientific work is to provide slimber ice therapy intervention to reduce thirst in Chronic Kidney Failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. This case study uses a descriptive method with a nursing process approach carried out on 3 respondents aged 19-56 years using a One Group Pretest Posttest research design and measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) instrument before and after being given slimber ice therapy and analyzed by calculating the average value. The results showed that the age of the respondents was 19-56 years, gender was female for 1 respondent, male for 2 respondents. After being given slimber ice therapy to 3 respondents twice, when the patient underwent hemodialysis therapy twice a week, the average score for thirst was reduced from a VAS score of 5.1 (moderate thirst) to a score of 1.2 (light thirst) after being given the therapy. It is hoped that the results of this case study can be applied to reduce thirst and help limit fluids in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis at Charitas Hospital Palembang.
