Abstract

This writing is trying to understand the character- based teaching and learning in the state of Islamic School Pamekasan. The researcher used qualitative approach in this research, where non-participant observation, interview and documentation as the instrument to collect the data. Data analysis used were data reduction, data display and drawing conclusion.  The research result  showed that the patterns used in the character- based teaching and learning in the State Islamic School Pamekasan are in the form of: 1) uncovering the meaning from several theories, 2) relating the theory analysis with values in life (reflective approach), 3) revealing the siginificance of knowledge, 4) explaining values containing in the knowledge, 5) inserting suggestion for students about self control and keeping away from what is being banned in Islam and social norms, 6) giving some warnings when the students break the rule of ethics, 7) giving punishment to students for breaking the rule.

Abstract

Facing the Qibla becomes one of the absolute requirements in doing prayer, except in some concequencies, first, the humans are in fear, in a forced condition and in a serious ill; second, they are praying during travelling on the vehicles. The fishermen of Bintaro Gapura Sumenep belong to a society which are often faced to the exception to face Qibla in doing their prayer. The condition while fishing and the boat used become the factors in the easinesss in doing the prayer. In the Fiqh Hisab- Rukyah perspective analysis, it is explained how to decide the position of Qibla in doing prayer in the middle of the sea. The data is collected through the steps of qualitative research. It starts from non-participant observation, unstructured interview and documentation. There are many challeges faced by the fishermen in doing the prayer, from the sea breeze and wave condition to the work in the sea which takes so much time. In the limited condition, they are rarely think about the completeness and the valid requirement of the prayer, especially the matter of facing Qibla. The majority of them think that the qibla is on the west of the direction. To adjust the compass’ accuracy of the west, they just mark off the direction of the sun’s shift and set. They do not know whether the sun ‘s position is on the south or north of the equator. The standart is based on the verification of the compass’ or remote’s west. They do the prayer based on the right time to pray by looking at the time or another natural markers.

Abstract

This paper tries to explain the phenomenon that has become a tradition of Muslim society. A tradition that presents the Qur'an in the midst of people's life or it is referred to as "living quran". Ngeruwat Bumi is one of the traditions of the many phenomena of Muslims in the suro month or Muharram in presenting the Qur'an in everyday life. The thing that makes this tradition unique is the tumpeng, which before the arak surrounds the surrounding environment is read prayer beforehand which is led by elders and religious leaders. Tumpeng in the Ngeruwat Bumi tradition itself consists of 7 kinds, namely: white rice cone, yellow rice, mending polo, fruit, leaf vegetables and cone vegetables such as eggplant, carrots etc. Based on the reality above, the focus of this research is 1) What is the practice and contribution of the community to the Ngeruwat Bumi tradition in Balung Village? 2) What is the meaning of the Ngeruwat Bumi tradition in the Balung community perspective? In this study researchers used a phenomenological approach, and interview observation methods. So that the results of this study indicate that: 1) How is the practice of the Ngeruwat Bumi tradition carried out by the Balung community as well as the huge community contribution to the celebration of Earth Grownup in every month of Suro. Given that lately people think that God is showing his power by shaking the earth. Realizing this, many people contribute to the tradition. 2). Society believes in the values contained in the tradition. Like rejecting reinforcements, starting a new page with kindness, introducing the tradition to the younger generation, and others.

Abstract

The shifting paradigm about a mosque from not only as a central place to do worship becomes the central place to empower society needs to be spread out. Doing worship is not only by doing prayer for five times a day but also talking about how Moslems and society can rise up from the poverty. Here, the concept of  development becomes integrated  between the life and the hereafter. It makes the program of society’s empowerment through Posdaya created by the government under some institutions (PPKB, health, Damandiri, and others) need to be supported by all aspects of society. It also happens on the mind set changing of the mosque’s takmir about the function of the mosque. It changes from purely place to do worship to a center of society’s economic empowerment. Based on the background knowledge, the writer takes a tittle “the looks of mosques in Madura (historical and sosiological study on the mosque’s management dynamics in empowering society).

Abstract

Emotional Quotion contributes 60% to someone’s success. The main characteristic of the individual emotional quotion is when he is successful to implement his emotional potency in daily life. Emotional potency here actually has been given to people before the birth. But, this potency can be increasing or decreasing as it is taken care of or developed. Based on the literature review of psychology literation and comparing to juridical analysis about regulation in managing the State Islamic University, this research comes into a finding of how to develop the emotional quotion for the State Islamic University managers. Every individual, including the lecturer and the leader of the State Islamic University can increase their emotional quotion’s value, when they can: first, recognize their own emotional states as well as others; second, manage their own emotion as well as others, and three, motivate themselves as well as others

Abstract

The meaning of “Reconstruction of Economic Growth” in this research is an effort to  reconceptualize the economic concepts of conventional development, structure and economic system formulated by West through the mind frame offerred by Muhammad Umer Chapra. This mind set has a purpose of reconstructuring the economic growth that can make the society prosperous as the Islamic teaching law, so that it can create a new theory as a future economic developmental concept.  To build a fairness economic system and to reach the economic goals, M. Umer Chapra offerred a reconstruction on some strategic elements. They are filter mechanism which stressed on the moral filter, people’s motivation to put social interests forward, socioeconomical reconstruction, and the country complementer’s active role in economy. To make it true, he offerred some policies, they are: 1) enlighting the humanity factors; 2) decreasing the property concentration; 3) making the economic reconstruction; 4) making fund reconstruction; 5) making a strategic policy with the society’s welfare as the orientation. The essence of all his offering about economic growth is a balanced development in two sides, economy and moral. Because it is impossible to bulid a fairness welfare without any  moral development.

Abstract

Taqnin or known as legislation is a group of regulations with binding characteristic. Practically, the concept of Taqnin talks more about the substantial or formalization aspect so that it becomes the reason of the emergence of the debate on Taqnin or legislation in Islam in the context of Shari’a. Indonesia with Pancasila as an ideology  has different characteristic with other majority moslems countries, although the majority of  indonesians are Moslems. The ideology of the country is not shari’a but Pancasila. Therefore, there is a debate on groups about the islamic law of legislation between formalistic-normative group and substantivistic- cultural group.

Abstract

Al- Qur’an is a guidance for us. Al- Qur’an is a source of all kinds of regulations and laws. Literally Jihad comes from the Arabic word “Juhdun” which means a power and “Jahada” which means an “effort”. It can be concluded that the meaning of Jihad is an effort to reach the truth as it is believed  with all ability and personal strength. The term “radical” comes from Latin word “radix, radic is”, the Indonesian dictionary gives the meaning of  “totally”, “all-out”, “ very strong in asking for changes”, and “progressive in thinking and acting”.

Abstract

Agama sering kali menampilkan dua wajah yang saling berlawanan. Di satu sisi agama merupakan jalan bagi seseorang untuk menemukan kebahagiaan, namun tidak jarang pula, agama menjadi sumbu pemicu konflik dan kekerasan yang disebabkan karena perbedaan pandangan. Meski mengakui bahwa pluralitas merupakan sunatullah, namun tidak demikian dengan pluralitas dalam beragama, karena agama berkait erat dengan keyakinan dan klaim kebenaran. Penelitian ini berupaya mendeskripsikan pandangan tokoh agama se karesidenan Cirebon yang mencakup wilayah Kabupaten Cirebon, Kota Cirebon, Kabupateb Majalengkandan Kabupaten Indramayu, dalam memandang Pluralitas Beragama di masyarakat dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus, dimana fenomena yang sedang diteliti merupakan fenomena aktual pada saat penelitian ini dilakukan. Penelitian ini menemukan adanya sebuah pola yang tidak linier antara yang diungkapkan secara personal dengan apa yang ditampilkan di ruang publik terkait pandangan tokoh agama terhadap pluralitas agama dan keberagamaan di masyarakat. Dalam hal ini terdapat dua kelompok yang berbeda. Pertama yang memandang pluralisme sebagai sebuah keniscayaan, namun tetap memandang yang berbeda, sebagai yang perlu diluruskan. Kedua, yang memandang pluralisme sebagai sebuah keniscayaan dan menghargai setiap perbedaan, serta meyakini adanya kemungkinan kebenaran lain dalam keyakinan kelompok agama atau aliran yang berbeda. (Religious somehow reflects two contradictory faces. In one side, religion is a way to find happiness while in another side it becomes the trigger of conflict and violence when it is placed wrongly. Although we know that pluralism is Sunnatullah, but it is different with pluralism in religion. It is because religion is closely related to beliefs and truth claim. The researcher tries to describe the scholars of Cirebon’s Residency’s point of view about religion pluralism in society in Cirebon itself, Cirebon’s district, Majalengka district, and Indramayu district. This research is a study case research where phenomenon researched is the actual phenomenon. This research found that there is an un-linier patterns between what is being revealed personally to what is shown in the public about the scholars’ point of view to religion pluralism and social diversity. There are two different groups. The first one, they think pluralism is as a necessity but they still think that the difference must be changed and corrected. The second group sees pluralism as a necessity, they appreciate every differences and belief that there must be another truth in another different religions and schools.)

Abstract

Wakat produktif menjadi salah satu sumber daya yang harus dikelola dengan baik. Pengelolaan wakaf produktif terkait dengan faktor pengembangan dan penyaluran hasil pengelolaan wakaf. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Wakaf Produktif Pada Yayasan Bina Insan Madani Banjarmasin. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan (field Research), yaitu melakukan penelitian tentang wakaf produktif dalam perspektif hukum ekonomi syariah di Yayasan Bina Insan Madani Banjarmasin. Hasil penelitian: (a) Implementasi pengelolaan wakaf produktif secara umum telah dilakukan dengan baik sesuai dengan aturan yang berlaku oleh pengurus yayasan Bina Insan Madani Banjarmasin disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan peruntukannya sudah memenuhi empat Rukun wakaf dan syaratnya, walaupun demikian, wakaf tersebut ada yang diberikan langsung maupun tidak langsung kepada pengurus yayasan. (b) Konsep pelaksanaan wakaf produktif di Yayasan Bina Insan Madani Banjarmasin sudah sesuai perspektif ekonomi syariah dengan tidak adanya penimbunan barang (Ihtikar), tidak melakukan monopoli, juga tidak melakukan jual beli yang diharamkan agama dengan menggunakan harta/aset wakaf. Wakaf produktif yang dimiliki yayasan dipergunakan untuk pembangunan sarana dan kegiatan ibadah, pembangunan sarana pendidikan, belum digunakan untuk bantuan kepada fakir miskin, anak terlantar, santunan yatim piatu dan peningkatan ekonomi dan kesejateraan masyarakat.(Productive Endowments becomes one of the resources that must be managed properly. The management of productive endowments is related to the factors of development and distribution of Endowments management results. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. This type of research is a field research, which is conducting research on productive endowments in the perspective of sharia economic law in Yayasan Bina Insan Madani Banjarmasin. The research results are: (a) Generally, the implementation of productive endowments management has been done well in accordance with the rules applicable by the admnistrators of Bina Insan Madani Foundation Banjarmasin and it is suited to the needs of its allocation which should be fulfilled the four pillars of productive endowments and its terms, however, the productive endowments is either given directly or indirectly to the foundation board. (b) The concept of the implementation of productive endowments in Bina Insan Madani Foundation Banjarmasin is in accordance with the Shariah economic perspective in the absence of stockpiling, not monopolizing, nor doing the forbidden trading by Islam using productive endowments assets. Productive endowments owned by Yayasan are used to build some religious facilities and activities and the construction of educational facilities. It is also used for helping the poor, homeless children, orphans and the improvement of the economy and welfare of the community.)
