Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase students' understanding and awareness of the importance of a culture of discipline as part of character building at school. The activity was carried out at SMA Negeri 6 Gorontalo through socialization, counseling, discussion, and mentoring methods for students. Problems found at the school included the persistence of late arrivals to school, lack of compliance with rules, and low student awareness in maintaining learning discipline. Through the socialization of a culture of discipline, students were given an understanding of the importance of discipline in everyday life, both at school and in the community. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of the values of discipline, responsibility, and compliance with school rules.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berjudul “Meningkatkan Kepedulian dan Kesehatan Masyarakat melalui Layanan Khitanan Massal dan Pemeriksaan Kesehatan Lansia di SDN 8 Telaga Desa Doluhupa Kabupaten Gorontalo” dilaksanakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan akses pelayanan kesehatan bagi masyarakat, khususnya anak usia sekolah dasar dan kelompok lanjut usia. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih adanya keterbatasan masyarakat dalam memperoleh pelayanan kesehatan yang terjangkau, rendahnya kesadaran pemeriksaan kesehatan berkala, serta kebutuhan layanan khitan yang aman dan sesuai standar medis. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan pelayanan langsung yang dikombinasikan dengan edukasi kesehatan. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi persiapan, identifikasi mitra dan lokasi, survei pendahuluan, penyusunan materi edukasi, koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah, pembentukan tim fasilitator, pelaksanaan layanan, monitoring, evaluasi, dan pelaporan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SDN 8 Telaga, Desa Doluhupa, Kabupaten Gorontalo, dengan melibatkan mahasiswa, tenaga kesehatan, pihak sekolah, dan masyarakat. Peserta kegiatan terdiri atas 50 anak yang mengikuti khitanan massal dan 120 lansia yang mengikuti pemeriksaan kesehatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa layanan khitanan massal berjalan dengan baik, aman, dan mendapat dukungan positif dari masyarakat. Pemeriksaan kesehatan lansia membantu peserta mengetahui kondisi kesehatannya, terutama terkait risiko penyakit tidak menular seperti hipertensi dan peningkatan kadar gula darah. Selain itu, edukasi kesehatan yang diberikan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pentingnya pola hidup sehat dan pemeriksaan kesehatan rutin. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa kolaborasi antara mahasiswa, tenaga kesehatan, sekolah, dan masyarakat dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam meningkatkan kepedulian sosial serta derajat kesehatan masyarakat secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, including the development of multimedia learning media. However, many teachers still have limited skills in utilizing AI-based technology in the learning process. This community service activity aimed to improve teachers’ skills in developing AI-based multimedia presentation media for IPAS learning at MI Muhammadiyah Kota Utara, Gorontalo. The methods used included preparation, training implementation, practice sessions, and evaluation. The activity involved 20 teachers through material presentations, discussions, and direct practice using AI applications. The results showed that teachers gained new knowledge and skills in creating interactive and innovative learning media. Teachers also showed high enthusiasm and active participation during the training. The implementation of AI-based multimedia learning media is expected to improve learning quality, student motivation, and teachers’ digital competencies in the digital era.

Abstract

This community service activity, in the form of a guest lecture involving students of the Civics Education Study Program at the University of Lampung, aimed to analyze the integration of Civics Education, character education, and multicultural education based on green education in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This activity employed an educational and participatory approach through material delivery and interactive discussions. The results of this activity contributed to improving participants' understanding of the concept of citizenship and environmental character values, as well as fostering multicultural awareness and environmental concern. The activity ran smoothly and successfully, as indicated by high enthusiasm from participants in listening to the material and high interaction throughout. Furthermore, this activity can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs in the areas of quality education (SDG 4), climate (SDG 13), peace (SDG 16), and partnership (SDG 17). The integration of Civics Education, character education, and multicultural education based on green education creates a holistic and transformative learning model that addresses the challenges of the times.

Abstract

Early childhood character building requires strong collaboration between teachers and parents. Yet, many parents still delegate all educational responsibility to schools, leading to a lack of continuity in the process of instilling values. The "Building Collaborative Leadership Between Teachers and Parents to Become Role Models for Early Childhood Character" activity was conducted to enhance understanding of the roles of both parties in providing consistent role models for children. Through initial observations, panel presentations, and interactive discussions, findings revealed that a lack of parental involvement impacts children's social and emotional development, including emotional control, discipline, and learning motivation. The results of the activity indicate that strong leadership collaboration, harmonious communication, and behavioral consistency between home and school can strengthen children's character and create a more positive, nurturing environment that supports their optimal development.
