Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is widely regarded as a strategic catalyst for economic growth, particularly in developing countries facing domestic capital constraints. The World Bank introduced the Business Ready (B-Ready) index in October 2024 to replace the discontinued Doing Business report, offering a more comprehensive and reproducible measure of the business environment. This study examines the relationship between the ten B-Ready dimensions and the FDI-to-GDP ratio across 94 countries using a descriptive quadrant analysis approach, with median values serving as threshold lines on scatter plots. The results show that the relationship between business environment quality and FDI inflows does not form a consistent or linear pattern across any of the ten B-Ready aspects. Quadrant I (high B-Ready, high FDI) consistently contains the largest share of countries, yet the substantial presence of countries in Quadrant II (low B-Ready, high FDI) and Quadrant IV (high B-Ready, low FDI) indicates that institutional quality alone does not determine investment outcomes. Quadrant II is dominated by low-income, resource-rich countries such as Chad, Congo Dem. Rep., and Gambia, consistent with resource-seeking investment motives under Dunning’s OLI paradigm. Quadrant IV is dominated by high-income countries such as South Korea, Taiwan, and Ireland, reflecting an economic scale effect rather than a lack of investment appeal. These findings suggest that business environment reform functions as an enabling condition rather than a sufficient condition for attracting foreign investment

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Green manufacturing-based operations management in improving production efficiency in processing industries in Bogor Regency. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving informants directly engaged in industrial operational activities. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo software to identify research themes, patterns, and relationships among concepts. The findings indicate that the implementation of Green manufacturing contributes to production efficiency improvement through waste reduction, optimal utilization of raw materials, energy efficiency, and the adoption of environmentally friendly production technologies. Operations management plays an important role in supporting successful implementation through production planning, process control, and human resource development. However, the study identified several challenges, including limited investment in green technologies, workforce readiness, and organizational culture transformation. This study confirms that integrating operations management with Green manufacturing can become an important strategy for developing effective, efficient, and sustainable production systems in processing industries.

Abstract

The development of social media as a digital commerce platform has encouraged TikTok to introduce the Live Shopping feature, which enables real-time interaction between sellers and consumers. This study aims to examine the effect of TikTok Live Shopping on the purchasing decisions of students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Bina Bangsa University. This study employed a quantitative approach involving 98 respondents, whose number was determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires, while the data analysis included normality testing, linearity testing, and simple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that TikTok Live Shopping has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. This finding is supported by a regression coefficient of 0.579 and a significance value of 0.002, which is lower than 0.05. This means that the greater the intensity of use and the better the quality of the live shopping experience, the stronger the tendency of students to make purchasing decisions. Various interactive features, such as direct communication, product demonstrations, and real-time promotional offers, also contribute to increasing consumer trust and satisfaction. This study reinforces the view that Live Shopping can serve as an effective digital marketing strategy. Future research is recommended to include other variables, such as consumer trust and customer loyalty, in order to provide a deeper understanding of consumer behavior in social commerce in the digital era.

Abstract

Effective human resource management is essential for ensuring the continuity of company operations, particularly in production divisions characterized by high work pressure. PT XYZ, an agribusiness company in the poultry sector, faces issues related to employees’ Turnover Intention in the production division, which are suspected to be influenced by working conditions and levels of job satisfaction. This study aims to examine the effect of the work environment on Turnover Intention, the effect of job satisfaction on Turnover Intention, and the simultaneous effect of both variables on the Turnover Intention of production employees. This study employed a survey method with a quantitative approach. The population and sample consisted of 43 production employees, using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results showed that the work environment had a significant effect on Turnover Intention (tcalculated = 2.101 > ttable = 2.021; sig. = 0.042). Job satisfaction also had a significant effect on Turnover Intention (tcalculated = 4.705 > ttable = 2.021; sig. = 0.001). Simultaneously, the work environment and job satisfaction had a significant effect on Turnover Intention (Fcalculated = 71.171 > Ftable = 3.232; sig. = 0.001). It can be concluded that the work environment and job satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously, play an important role in reducing employees’ Turnover Intention. Therefore, the company needs to continuously improve both aspects.

Abstract

Regional Original Revenue (PAD) serves as a key indicator of regional fiscal independence and constitutes the primary source of financing for local government administration and development. At the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Serang City, tax revenue realization during 2021–2025 consistently fell short of the established tax budget target, creating a gap that potentially affects PAD achievement. This study aims to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of Tax Budget (X1) and Tax Revenue Realization (X2) on PAD (Y). A quantitative descriptive approach was employed using five years of annual secondary data collected through documentation of Bapenda Serang City's financial reports, processed through classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination (R²) using SPSS 26. The analysis produced the regression equation Y = 48.550 + 0.308X1 + 1.062X2. Partially, neither Tax Budget (sig. 0.437) nor Tax Revenue Realization (sig. 0.073) showed a significant effect on PAD, a result attributable to severe multicollinearity between the two predictors (VIF = 391.063). Simultaneously, however, both variables significantly affected PAD (F-count 3,903.681; sig. 0.000), explaining 99.9% of PAD variance (Adjusted R Square = 0.999), a figure that warrants cautious interpretation given the limited sample size. These findings suggest that budget planning and revenue realization efforts should be managed by Bapenda Serang City as an integrated process rather than two separate activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of liquidity, as measured by the Current Ratio (CR), and leverage, as measured by the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), on profitability, as measured by the Return on Assets (ROA), in chemical industry sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019–2024 period. This research employed a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the companies' annual financial statements. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, resulting in a sample of nine companies with a total of 54 observations. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, the coefficient of determination (R²), t-test, and F-test. The results indicate that: (1) Current Ratio (CR) has a negative and significant effect on Return on Assets (ROA), with a t-value of 2.986, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.008; (2) Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) has no significant effect on Return on Assets (ROA), with a t-value of 1.772, which is lower than the t-table value of 2.008; and (3) simultaneously, Current Ratio (CR) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) have a significant effect on Return on Assets (ROA), with an F-value of 4.703, which is greater than the F-table value of 3.18. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.156, indicating that 15.6% of the variation in Return on Assets can be explained by Current Ratio and Debt to Equity Ratio, while the remaining 84.4% is influenced by other factors outside the research model.
