Abstract

Various skills that must be mastered by students to be able to prepare themselves to match the human resources of developed countries are today's challenges. One of these skills is critical thinking. The application of the STEM approach is a new era to meet the learning objectives in the 21st century. And by applying the HOTS-based STEM approach will improve students' critical thinking skills. The research in this article uses the meta-analysis method by finding the effect size calculation value of each journal analyzed. Thus, it is found that the learning model that has a major effect on the application of the HOTS-based STEM approach is the experimental learning model, with the material of Electricity and Magnetism and with the help of simulation media at the XII grade high school level. Keywords: STEM Approach, HOTS, Critical Thinking

Abstract

This study examines the effect of teaching materials in ethnoscience-based science and physics learning on students' scientific literacy, determined through Effect Size (ES). This study uses a descriptive meta-analysis study method. Research data were obtained from 20 journals on the effect of ethnoscience-based physics and science teaching materials on students' scientific literacy. The study is based on three categories, namely the level of education, types of teaching materials and scientific literacy skills. The results showed that; first, the effect of teaching materials in ethnoscience-based science and physics learning on scientific literacy based on education level has a positive effect on all levels of education starting from elementary, junior high, high school and college students. Second, based on the type of teaching materials used, namely modules, worksheets, videos, teaching materials, reading books and comics, they have a high effect. Third, based on the scientific literacy of students, it shows that the use of ethnoscience-based science and physics teaching materials is effective in increasing students' scientific literacy. Keywords: Meta Analysis, Teaching Materials, scientific literacy

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of feasibility of Problem Based Learning based LKPD on Hooke's Law material based on material experts and media experts, and to determine the level of practicality of Problem Based Learning based LKPD on Hooke's Law material based on the response of teachers in the field of study and student responses. This research uses research and development methods or Research and Development (R&D). The LKPD feasibility test uses a Likert scale questionnaire validated by two validators. And the practical test of LKPD was carried out at MAS Plus Al-Ulum Medan school by teachers and students. Based on the results of the study, a material expert validator assessment of 72% was obtained, a media expert assessment of 80% with feasible / valid criteria. And based on the response of the physics teacher, a score of 94% was obtained, and the response of students obtained a value of 94.45% with very practical criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to produce physics learning media for class XI high school on the subject matter of optical devices based on android using the MIT app inventor. This research is a Research and Development study using the 4D (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate) method which starts with the creation of a .apk format-based installer program on the MIT App Inventor website. This program can be used easily by beginners. The user does not need to write or remember instructions because the user only chooses and organizes the choices available on the website so that the user easily develops the application by finding the appropriate blocks. Validity Testing on featured and content in the program is done by experts. Products are revised according to the team's recommendations until the product is feasible to be tested on students. The feasibility and response of the use of the program are done by the teacher, then tested on 10 students in small group trials and 30 students in large group trials. The research results obtained from validation that the program has been declared valid and can be used as a medium for learning physics. Based on the validation test obtained a percentage of features by 97,7% and the percentage of content by 94,95%. The feasibility of an Android-based learning program using the inventor app on material optical equipment by physics subject teachers based on teacher responses of 3.725 and learners of 3.765 in the feasible category. Based on the trial data, the product has been declared suitable for use by teachers and students as a medium of learning in schools and as a medium of independent learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant relationship between attitudes and learning outcomes in Newton's Law of Gravity material in class XI MIPA 2, XI MIPA 3, and XI MIPA 4 in SMA Negeri 2 Kota Sungai Penuh. This research is quantitative descriptive. The independent variable in this study is the attitude of the students, and learning outcomes are the dependent variable. The population taken was as many as 105 people consisting of class XII MIPA 2, XI MIPA 3, and XI MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh City and the sample taken was 50 people. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire (questionnaire). Data analysis techniques were carried out including normality test, linearity test, and correlation test with the help of SPSS 21 software. The test results obtained a Pearson correlation value of 0.518, meaning that there is a weak correlation between attitudes and learning outcomes with a Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.00 <0.05 then H0 is rejected, this means that H1 is accepted, that is, there is a significant relationship between attitudes and learning outcomes, although there is a linear correlation but the correlation is weak. Abstract

Learning in Indonesia does not encourage learners to think critically. Based on the results of the study states that learning in school has not been able to cultivate critical thinking skills in learners because learning still tends to be teacher-centered. The critical thinking skills of learners in the schools studied are still relatively low. Research from various researchers has previously stated that guided inquiry models can improve the ability of critical thinking pills. The purpose of this study is to find out if there is an influence on the critical thinking skills of learners who apply LKPD based on the guided inquiry learning model based on PhET Simulation compared to applying conventional PhET-assisted learning models only. This research is a pseudo-experiment using the Design Counter Balance. Data capture using the t-test. The results of the implementation of LKPD based on the PhET-assisted inquiry model show that there is an influence on the critical thinking skills of learners rather than conventional models with PhET.Keywords: LKPD, Guided Inquiry, PhET Simulation, and Critical thinking skills.
