Abstract

The process writing approach treats writing as a process rather than a completed product. Writing studies are conducted as part of the process due to the completion of the written text. In writing classes, this approach tends to focus on the student, and the teacher only acts as a guide. The process writing approach includes actions that occur when a written text is created. This research analyzed the benefits of the process approach as a teachers’ approach in order to enhance student writing skills in recount text. The researcher used the literature review and some of the previous research which has been conducted before as the measurements toward the process approach could improve student writing skill in recount text whether they understood the material which given by the teacher or not. As a result of the literature review and previous research, the researcher found a significant influence of the process writing approach on writing progress and anxiety mainly in recount text. Based on this finding for written language research, the use of a process writing approach is recommended.

The sampling technique used was Cluster Random Sampling, in this study the authors used a class from class 7 for sampling, the data were analyzed statistically using t-test. The results of this study indicate; the average value of grade VII students is 68.57 Statistical calculations show that the results of t0 (t-observation)> tt (t-table). Where t-observation (t0) obtained is 10 while the value of t-table (tt) is 1,711 with a significant 5% (0.05) which is t0 greater than tt, thus alternative hypotheses (Ha) are accepted and null hypothesis (H0) rejected. Based on the results listed it can be concluded that the dart board method develops children's ability to improve students' speaking abilities.

Teaching ESP should be given both theoretically and practically and Project Based Learning method can be applied as effective way for teaching and learning process in ESP program that besides students study the theory, they also design the project to apply the theory of ESP they have already studied. In ESP program, the students are assigned to make course books design for several fields of study and practice one of unit materials in front of the class. The books are designed based on the needs of target language which are gained by having interview and observing the target situation. Giving students the book project enables them to boost and stimulate their sense of creativity in creating an ESP course book. However, the lecturers’ assistance is important for reducing students’ confusion in deciding practices in the book.
