Abstract

Information technology has changed the world of education, including the way of learning and teaching. This research aims to develop big data-based smart learning strategies that can be applied in teaching database in higher education institutions. Two major problems in teaching practical courses such as database are low student engagement and non-optimal utilization of learning data to support effective teaching strategies. This research utilized a qualitative descriptive approach, which was used to investigate the related literature. According to the research results, five main approaches were identified: student learning pattern analysis, adaptive material adjustment, project-based learning with real data, personalized learning advice, and learning progress visualization. This research offers conceptual and practical contributions in the development of big data-based teaching models in practice-based courses by integrating data from LMS, learning social media, and academic evaluation to create contextual, adaptive, and student-centered learning.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought about major changes in the communication patterns and information consumption of society, including in the religious aspect. Social media is now one of the main channels for the younger generation, especially students, to obtain inspiration and religious content that was previously only accessible through conventional media. This study aims to explore the effect of religious content consumption on social media on the psychological well-being of students at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Palangkaraya. This study used a mixed method approach with the participation of 30 students aged 18–24 years who were selected randomly. Data were collected through closed questionnaires and open-ended questions to explore the patterns of religious content consumption and its impact on students' psychological conditions. The results showed that consuming religious content through platforms such as TikTok and Instagram has a positive effect on students' psychological well-being. Respondents admitted to feeling calmer inwardly, more grateful, motivated to behave positively, and find meaning in life after accessing religious content such as lectures, inspirational stories, prayers, and dhikr. These findings provide important implications for educational institutions and religious content developers to utilize social media as a means of supporting mental health and spiritual growth of students strategically.

Abstract

This study examines the role of multimedia in the teaching process of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at the junior secondary school level. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that multimedia serves as an interactive learning tool that enhances students’ cognitive understanding and supports the development of spiritual character. The types of multimedia used include animated videos, digital presentations, and online platforms such as YouTube and Google Meet. These tools encourage active learning, increase student engagement, and contribute positively to both comprehension of religious material and the formation of spiritual attitudes. In conclusion, multimedia not only improves knowledge acquisition but also fosters essential spiritual values in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between Islamic moderation values ​​and religious activities in schools. Islamic moderation values, including tawasuth (justice), tawazun (balance), tasamuh (tolerance), and i'tidal (fairness), are essential in promoting moderate and tolerant attitudes among students. SMK NU 01 Jogoroto Jombang, a school in Jombang, Indonesia, has implemented various religious activities that incorporate these values, such as congregational prayer, recitation of istighosah, yasin, and tahlil, and regular recitation of sholawat. This study seeks to investigate how these activities can foster Islamic moderation values ​​among students, including their participation in religious lessons, religiosity, and tolerance towards people of different religions. The findings of this study are expected to provide insight into how religious activities can shape students' attitudes and behaviors, and inform policy recommendations to improve Islamic education at SMK NU 01 Jogoroto Jombang.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has transformed personal data into a valuable yet highly vulnerable asset,particularly susceptible to breaches and misuse. Information such as names, addresses, contact numbers, and financial data are increasingly accessible and illegally utilized. This condition demands more secure and structured information protection and management. This article discusses the importance of personal data security, the challenges that exist, and the strategic solutions that can be implemented. The research was conducted using a qualitative method through literature studies from various relevant sources. The analysis shows that there is a need to increase awareness and implement a reliable digital security system by individuals and institutions to reduce the risk of information leakage and misuse.

Abstract

Digital gold investment is growing rapidly as a modern investment alternative that combines financial technology (fintech) with conventional commodities. However, from a sharia economic law perspective, this investment faces a number of serious challenges. The main issues include the requirement for physical gold ownership underlying digital transactions, the clarity of the sharia contract used, and weak regulation and supervision of fintech platforms. Additionally, legal and Islamic risks also arise from the security of third-party storage and the low level of public literacy regarding Islamic investment principles. This article examines these challenges in depth and provides recommendations to strengthen the legal and Islamic foundations of digital gold investment.

Abstract

Cultural differences often trigger nonverbal miscommunication in crosscultural interactions that occur in campus environments. This article examines the influence of cross-cultural interactions on nonverbal miscommunication in various communication contexts. This study focuses on cultural differences, language styles, speech intonation and body language, which are the causes of nonverbal miscommunication, the negative impacts that arise and solutions that can be overcome. With a deeper understanding of nonverbal miscommunication, this article provides insight into how to develop oneself towards existing cultural differences, in order to maintain effective communication in cross-cultural interactions to build good and healthy social relationships.

Abstract

Positive thinking plays a very important role in a person's self-confidence in their abilities. In this case, the positive mindset of PAI students is very important in determining the level of self-confidence of an individual. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of positive mindset in shaping the self-confidence of students in the Islamic Education Study Program (PAI) class of 2022 at IAIN Palangka Raya. When facing academic, social, and personal pressures, many students experience a crisis of self-confidence. A positive mindset is believed to foster optimistic, resilient, and confident attitudes in facing challenges. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The results show that PAI students with a positive mindset can increase self-confidence, improve self-perception, reduce fear of failure, and provide stronger motivation for themselves. These findings reinforce the importance of mental coaching through positive thinking in supporting student character development.

Abstract

The month of Ramadan encourages Muslims to hasten in worship. In addition, the approach to Eid al-Fitr is often colored by many Islamic traditions, including Malam Songo. Malam Songo is a Javanese tradition on the 29th night of Ramadan which is believed to be a night that has many blessings. On Malam Songo in Mergosari Village, Singgahan, Tuban, there are many traditions such as breaking the fast and sending prayers together at the mosque and visiting the graves of parents and relatives. In general, this night is also considered as a good night for holding a wedding. This research is an empirical qualitative research, focuses on describing and understanding the practice and how the meaning of the Malam Songo through the ‘urf lens. In obtaining the data, the wroter used three data collections techniques which are namely interviews, observation, and documentation. Through the Sociology of Islamic Law approach in examining the study of legal understanding, it can be concluded that this tradition represents the peak of perfection. According to Islamic fiqh in practice, nikah malem songo has no different than marriage in general. Since the beginning, it is interpreted as a blessing that makes the household filled with grace, this tradition is accepted as a valid 'urf because the pillars and practices do not conflict with shari'a, more based on cultural efficiency such as ease of organizing events, strengthening friendship and not eliminating benefits or causing harm.

Abstract

The main objective of incorporating physical activity and sports into education extends beyond enhancing physical fitness; it also aims to foster students' social and emotional development, overall health, critical thinking, mental toughness, and ethical conduct. This study focused on second-grade students at SDN Bulusari 1 during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, involving a total of 32 participants. Data collection techniques included several methods such as tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results indicated a significant improvement in learning mastery, with 71% of students successfully meeting the achievement standards during the implementation of the first cycle—an indicator of progress in their sprinting skills. Considering the targeted achievement rate of 80%, the second cycle was considered successful and complete, as confirmed by ongoing observations and reflective evaluations. The average sprinting ability score of the students increased to 81.00, indicating that the implementation of the green-black game strategy was proven effective in enhancing their sprint performance.
